- Chapter 160 - Chapter 160 But I'll make sure not to miss a third time
Chapter 160: But I’ll make sure not to miss a third time Chapter 160: But I’ll make sure not to miss a third time Alice was confused.
Just how did she end up catching Lilith and even strangling her to death?
It didn’t make sense.
She was sure she had been standing over the red gate and…
She looked up.
Where was the red gate?
Or more importantly…
She glanced around.
There was nothing…
Where was she?
*Alice, calm down.
I’ll explain things to you.* Leo said.
*You seemed to have been out of it for a moment there.
Right now, we’re in the red gate.
Wait, I’ll recall for you.* “Wait, hold on.” She gulped down her saliva, feeling her throat dry up.
She was feeling tense and her emotions were spiking up.
She wanted to know what happened and how they ended up in the red gate but at the same time, she needed a moment to calm down.
She sat on the floor, let out a heavy sigh, glanced at the dark skies, and closed her eyes.
Her environment was serene and there was no sign of life…
At least not in the next 50 meters.
“Okay Leo, I’m ready.
Tell me what happened.” She said.
*I told you to feel your environment…* Recounting what happened…
*Alice, close your eyes and use your knowledge of demons to track her down.
Try to sense it.
She couldn’t have gone far.* “Is it that easy?” Alice asked.
*No, but if you close your eyes and concentrate, you’ll be able to find her.
With your eyes closed, your senses will be heightened.* He said and she nodded, agreeing to test his method.
Doing it from the sky would be way easier, so she closed her eyes and started searching with her senses, for traces of a demon, much like the one she had faced in the calamity gate but more advanced, she guessed.
She conducted a wide search around the area, concentrating clearly, searching every nook and cranny until she found something.

Something red.
Whereas all that had life glowed with blue light, this particular light was ominous and…
Was heading towards her at full speed.
She opened her eyes and turned, missing the attack by an inch.
They were very fast.
“So, you managed to find me.” A female voice said and Alice turned around to find a lady with grey skin floating a few meters away from her with her hands folded.
She was wearing a red revealing dress and had a long thin tail that had what looked like a red heart at the end.
“You’re such a special child that even he has his eyes on you.” She said, her words sounding like riddles.
Alice stared at her face.
She was beautiful.
Very beautiful but the fact that she had red hair ticked her off more than the fact that she was a demon.
“Ugh, why do you have to share similarities with a prick I know?” She asked but then Lilith appeared behind her.
*Dodge!* Leon warned and Alice did that, just in time before she was clawed in by Lilith’s metallic fingers.
Her eyes looked at the fingers.
They were able to elongate so that was pretty much Lilith’s weapon.
“Lucky.” Lilith said, licking her metallic fingers.
“But I’ll make sure not to miss a third time.” She once again disappeared from Alice’s line of sight and appeared in front of her, swinging her claws at Alice’s face.
Alice shifted back but was not fast enough and Lilith’s nails grazed her chin.
“Haha, I told you I’d make sure not to miss a third time.” Alice was shocked.
When was the last time anyone or anything was able to inflict harm on her?
She touched the blood on her chin, and then her heartbeat hardened.
Her eyes went dilated and she suddenly lost control.
She attacked Lilith head-on, her hand reaching out for her hammer.
It appeared and she swung at Lilith without taking precautions.
*Alice, what are you doing?* Leo asked but Alice did not respond.
*Alice, Alice!* He called but Alice was out of her mind.
Then, Lilith chuckled.
She disappeared from Alice’s range and sat on top of the building nearby, facing the gate, and said, “It seems I succeeded in sowing a seed one more time.” She said, and Alice appeared behind her, ready to swing her hammer with eyes that were short of life.
Lilith flipped forward and appeared in front of the gate.
“Huhu, why don’t we take this fight somewhere else?” She asked and entered the gate.
Alice, who was not in her right mind at all, followed her into the gate.
As soon as Alice entered the gate, she was attacked by three oversized monsters at the same time.
All of which she beheaded in a second and went after Lilith.
That listless expression on her face made it seem like she was being controlled.
And the order was…
Kill Lilith.
She followed Lilith who laughed like she was having fun.
It was either she underestimated Alice, or she enjoyed the thrill of being chased by a death bringer.
“Be careful, child,” Lilith said.
“I sowed a seed in you and gave you the thing you hate the most.” Alice did not listen to what she had to say and continued trying to kill her.
If her hammer or axe were not going to work then she would just use her bare hands.
She let the hammer go and stopped chasing, stretching her hand out to Lilith who wondered what she was trying to do.
Only to feel a hand grab her neck.
She choked.
Alice pulled her closer and stared at her with those listless eyes.
Lilith stared at her eyes with her own red eyes and laughed, even in a situation like that…
She found it all amusing.
“I quite like you, child.” She said.
“I knew I was never a match for you.
So, I guess this is the end.
But…
let me give you a little warning.” She slowly raised her hand but Alice grabbed it with her free hand.
“Haha, quite vigilant.” Lilith said, even though she was choking.
Blood spilled from her mouth and nose.
She had beautiful eyes.
Such beautiful eyes and a beautiful face.
Why was she a demon?
“But thank goodness I…
I have two hands.” Lilith smiled and, though struggling, raised her other hand and pointed it at her head, tapping her forehead with not much struggle from Alice.
She said, “Don’t trust him.
He’s using you.” Alice snapped her neck and that was how she came back to her senses.
That is after she saw the vision Lilith had shown her.
But…
Why did Lilith give her such a warning?
And who was she talking about?
Who was…
‘him’?
*Alice, I don’t know what she meant by that or what she made you see but…
You need to be careful.
Something seems wrong somewhere.* Alice nodded.
“Yeah, something’s definitely wrong somewhere.” She trusted Leo.
She trusted him so much that she would bet her life on him.
But if she were to understand what just happened…
Leaving Lilith’s warning aside…
The only one who could control her body and leave her consciousness in the dark was…
Leo, wasn’t it?
