- Chapter 190 - Chapter 190 Alice, thank you for being protective
Chapter 190: Alice, thank you for being protective Chapter 190: Alice, thank you for being protective Alice caught this young man’s arm and squeezed.
“Would you like to let go or would you like me to do it?” She glared at him.
“Punk!” The owner of the hand turned to glare at Alice but before he could say anything, Adolf said, “Don’t get too worked up, kiddo.” He dropped his hand on Alice’s head and the other on the young man’s head but he slapped it away and turned to face Alice. “Get your hands off and stay out of my business.” He growled at Alice who only squeezed his hand tightly while trying to maintain her expression. “Ah, in case you don’t know, my business is with this old man.
And you doing this is simply not acceptable.
I could snap your hand right now but I’m choosing not to.
Do you wanna see if I can do it?
I can show a very clear demonstration if you think I’m bluffing.” She threatened but it only got on his nerves. He released Adolf’s collar but then attempted to grab Alice by the neck but didn’t have the liberty to do so as Adolf caught his arm. “Let go, you old man.” The young man growled at him.
“I don’t know who she is or why you’re protecting her but you’re only going to make things difficult for yourself.” “Oh dear,” Adolf said and shook his head.
“I’m not trying to protect her.” “Then, let go of-” “The one I’m trying to protect is you.” Adolf added, his eyes gleaming dangerously and the young man felt it.
Right in front of him was a girl glaring daggers at him, ready to end his life if need be, and behind him were two guys who were gradually releasing their murderous aura. They weren’t taking action, but if he had even come close to grabbing her by the neck, he might’ve lost his limbs and not know how he died. “Alice, dear,” Adolf called softly.”This is all a misunderstanding.” “Ah, misunderstanding or not, gramps,” Alice spoke up, feeling quite irritated, “It’s still a fact that he grabbed you by the collar.
And don’t worry, if I break a bone or two of his, I can fix it.” The young man, threatened by the energy around him, gritted his teeth, shoved his hand out of Adolf’s grip, and turned to Alice. “Hey, outsider, let go.” He said but Alice took a moment to process his request. “Be nice.” She said and gripped his arm even tighter.
“And I just might do so.” The young man grunted in slight pain and frowned.
Just who did she think she was?
And why was she so strong?
He was an awakenend, an S-class awakened, so not a lot of people could threaten him like that, yet he could not even shake her grip one bit. “Why do I have to be nice to someone who barged into the room and interrupted my conversation with my grandfather?” He asked and all of a sudden, the dark look in Alice’s eyes disappeared, replaced by confusion. “Huh?” Her face became frantic as she suddenly realized who he was.
“This is…
You are…” She turned to Adolf.
“He is…” “Alice, thank you for being protective.” Adolf said, placing his hand on hers.
“But I wasn’t in any form of danger.
Do you think this brat could attack me and I wouldn’t be able to defend myself?” “Ah, I know, but…” She turned to the guy who had a disgruntled expression, displeased and irritated at the same time. “You finally know who I am, punk.
So, let go before things get ugly.” He still had the energy to be rude and Alice decided to teach him a lesson. “Sure.” She smiled but had hidden intentions behind her smile.
As she let go of his arm, she landed a punch in his face and sent him flying, to everyone’s, excluding Leo, surprise. Adolf’s eyes widened, and Alice flung her wrist. “Don’t worry, Gramps.” She said to him, still smiling.
“He won’t die.” “Did you have to go that far?” Adolf asked, dropping one hand on his waist and the other on his face.
He felt exhausted. “Someone had to teach that brat that the world isn’t all roses just because he has such a powerful grampa.” She said, seriously this time.
“He needs to learn how to be grateful.” Adolf was stunned for a moment and then he closed his eyes, nodding at her defense. “Then, I guess you have my thanks.” “I see that’s over,” Marcus said and Alice noticed he had been standing at the side all along. “Marcus?” She called and he tilted his glasses up.
“Well, now I believe it was no big deal since you stood by and watched the whole time.” “It was just a normal occurrence and so I stood by.” Marcus said and turned to look at the young man who crashed into the wall.
“But if I may, you did a rather good job.” “Ah, thank you.” She said. “Mr Chairman,” Devon called, walking in.
“I brought her as asked.” “Yeah, I’m here for dinner.” She said and looked around disappointedly.
“But this doesn’t seem to be the dining hall either.” “That’s because it’s right through that door.” Adolf said, pointing at another door at the end of the room. “Oh, then what are we waiting for?
Leo, come on let’s head there.” She started matching towards the door.

Adolf nodded at Marcus who nodded at Lawson.
Lawson clapped his hand twice and two maids came in to help the young man up. “Get him to his room and let the doctor examine him.” Lawson said to the maids who nodded and carried him away. Alice watched through her side eyes and sighed.
To think he had been Adolf’s grandson.
He looked like he was a few years older than her. He had brown hair and blue eyes.
Blue eyes like Adolf’s, so she could only imagine that that set of blue eyes ran through their family line. But that aside, he was an entitled brat who was taking all his luxury for granted. She didn’t know why he hated his grandfather so much that he would even grab him by the collar and show such hostility, but she couldn’t think of any sin Adolf might’ve committed that couldn’t be forgiven and forgotten. If she had even a little of what he had while growing up…
She shook her head.
Thinking wouldn’t change anything. The past was already the past.
