- Chapter 197 - Chapter 197 Oh, so you do appreciate my effort
Chapter 197: Oh, so you do appreciate my effort Chapter 197: Oh, so you do appreciate my effort Alice put on the glasses and then immediately tried to see if it would impact her vision in any way, but it was normal.
“Hm,” she pushed up the rim of the glasses.
“I don’t feel different.” “Ah, I can tell there’s a difference in your appearance while you have the glasses on.” Miss Stella said.
“But it’s not very evident to me since I’ve seen you in person a couple of times.” “Me too.” Micheal said and appeared behind her.
“This pair only works on people who don’t know you.” He sneakily dropped his hands on her shoulders, but she slapped them off as if they were flies perching on her and acted completely nonchalant about it.
“Then, either way, it works, right?” She took it off and examined the brown frame as well as the sharply sliced glass used as the lens.
And then, she gasped, raising her head, and exclaimed alarmingly, “Oh no!” “What is it?” Miss Stella asked, paying attention to her alarming exclamation.
But then she said, “I’m not going to be mistaken for a smart kid, am I?” They were taken aback for a second but Miss Stella was glad it wasn’t anything serious.
“And why do you think you would be mistaken for a smart kid?” She asked, lowering her head a bit to match Alice’s height.
“I mean, you are smart, yes, but what are your concerns about?” “Well, you know,” She tilted the glasses in her hands a bit and tilted them back.
“It’s usually the smart kids that wear glasses.” Silence followed her response and soon after, a composed laugh escaped Michael’s mouth.
“Oh, Alice,” Miss Stella called out, almost laughing as well but she kept it to a smile and patted Alice’s perfectly combed hair.
“But I’m serious.
You know, I heard anyone who wears glasses is considered super smart.
Like, Math smart, and then they get asked a lot of questions in class, and, and…” Micheal’s laughter increased and it turned from composed to wild, causing Alice to go red in fluster.
“It’s true.
What the heck are you laughing?” She glared at him.
“Oh, my.
I’m so sorry, Alice.
I really am but your words crack me up.” He laughed but tried to conceal it, yet his continuously edging shoulder and muffled laugh seemed to piss Alice even more.
“That’s it!
You’re no longer welcome.” She said and raised her hand at him.
“Will you walk out or do you want me to help you with that?” “Oh, no.
No.” He shook his head, finally calming his laughter.
“There’s no need for that.
I will see myself out.” “Good.” Alice said, her face fuming.
She folded her arms.
“And I hope you slip on your cape on your way out, fall on your masked face, and bleed to death!” She cursed at him and he flinched but did not stop walking, and she threw her face aside.
“Alice,” Miss Stella called.
“That’s not a nice thing to say.” “Well, it’s not a nice thing to laugh at other people’s concerns either, is it?” She fumed, pouting her lips.

She felt Miss Stella giving her a disapproved expression, and it did get to her, but she was not happy.
She glanced at Micheal silently making his way to the door, which was not like him at all.
She thought he would put up a fight but maybe he was busy after all.
“Tut!” She looked away.
“I was gonna thank him for doing such a good deed but he just had to go and spoil it with those words.” She mumbled and Micheal’s ear perked.
“Oh, so you do appreciate my effort.” He gleefully said, suddenly appearing behind her.
Miss Stella was stunned.
She looked towards the door and then back to him.
How did he…?
And Alice didn’t look surprised in the slightest.
Was she aware of his abilities?
She wondered.
“Yeah, yeah.
Just…” She was about to say something when Micheal lifted his mask a bit and stole a kiss from her cheek.
It was a simple peck on the cheek but it caught Alice by surprise.
“I’ll take that as an apology.” He said.
“And I’ll give you this as my apology as well.” He appeared at her other side and planted a kiss on her other cheek.
Ah, why was he taking her by surprise?
Or maybe it was because she wasn’t against it and wasn’t fending him off, that was why he was able to get away with it.
She could tell he felt proud.
“And now, I shall take my leave.” He disappeared right before their eyes, leaving nothing but dust on the floor on which he stood.
Alice blinked twice and then touched her cheeks.
He was such an unpredictable and weird guy.
“Thanks for being so considerate.” She mumbled, her face slightly flushing.
Miss Stella was a bit lost.
Just what in the world happened before her eyes?
She tilted her glasses and then observed Alice carefully.
She did not hate what just happened to her so she couldn’t consider it assault.
Ah, but for him to do that to her student in front of her…
Her blood boiled.
“Oh, uh…” Alice slowly turned towards her, causing her raging blood to pause for a second.
She found Alice blushing quite innocently and the words left her mouth, “Thanks for the glasses, teach.” Her lips curled in a wide smile.
“Now I don’t have to worry about how to conceal my identity from everyone.
You’re a genius.” Miss Stella’s raging blood calmed down right away, and she stood upright, smiling at her.
“Don’t worry, Alice.
I have your back.” She said.
“And don’t worry, you won’t be mistaken for a nerd just because you’re wearing glasses.
After all, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a pretty nerd.” She said and Alice gave out a sigh of relief.
“Phew.
That’s a relief.” She said and smiled.
Miss Stella was glad Alice still had that childish personality.
She was still a naive little girl, knowing nothing of the world.
Well, she did know the world…
A lot…
But that was just the dark side of the world.
There was a lot more she hadn’t seen.
A bright side, on the other hand, was still yet to be discovered and explored by this young one.
And she would help her discover these bright and beautiful sides.
“Oh, uh…” Alice leaned in and whispered, “Keep the fact that Micheal kissed my cheeks a secret.
For some reason, they all get worked up once they hear stuff like this happen.” She moved away and shrugged.
“I don’t know what gives, but anywho, let’s just keep it between ourselves.” Miss Stella watched her, a bit surprised, and then chuckled, patting her head.
Yeah, there was really a lot she had not yet seen.
