- Chapter 204 - Chapter 204 Now, run along
Chapter 204: Now, run along Chapter 204: Now, run along Everyone started murmuring, surprised how Alice caught Lucas’s fast lightning punch with a textbook, and no damage was done to either of them.
“Do you think she’s had special training before now?” “Oh my, she doesn’t look disoriented in the slightest, like she’s used to this kind of stuff.” “Alice is so cool.” Alice waved the smoking book, trying to put out that smoke but it wouldn’t go off.
She dropped it on the desk and scratched the back of her neck.
“Oh man, I didn’t think this through.” She grumbled, her face contorting in worry.
“What will I do if Miss Stella wants to check my textbooks to see if they’re intact after school?” She shot her gaze to Lucas.
“Hey, weak ass wannabe,” she called and the class laughed, humiliating Lucas further.
“You have this same textbook, right?” “What did you call me?” Lucas asked, trying to stand his ground but she shot him a glare, causing his entire body to freeze up.
He couldn’t move an inch.
If he did…
If he could, the pressure would kill him.
Just her gaze alone was already crushing him, making him sweat and see the world spin around darkly.
“I’m not gonna ask again after this.
You’ve got this same textbook, don’t you?” She asked and he gulped, nodding and not saying a single word.
“Good.
Now, go get it for me.” Lucas had no choice but to obey.
Slowly, he moved his trembling body to his desk, sweat popping out of every single pore in his body.
The intensity of Alice’s glare was just so great that he wondered, if she had raised her hand in defense, would his hand be alright?
He picked up the textbook and slowly started making his way back.
The class watched him walk like a mummy and started whispering, wondering if he was under control or something.
“He looks weird, what do you think she did to him?” “It was a simple command yet all the color has left his face.
He’s pathetic.” “Can’t believe he’s scared of a girl all of a sudden.
She must be tough, hehe.” Lucas ignored their words.
They may not know it because the glare, the bloodlust, was not directed at them.
It was directed at him alone, and so, he was the only one feeling the gravity of it all.
‘I…
What do I do?’ he thought as he slowly stretched the textbook over to her.
‘After this, is she going to kill me?
Will she ask me to break an arm in front of her?
If she does, I don’t…’ his throat felt dry and the blood in his vessels ran dry.
‘I don’t think I can win her.’ “Here we go.” Alice said, snatching the textbook from him.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
She flipped the pages to make sure it was intact and then smiled.
“See, it wasn’t so bad being a ‘good boy’, was it?” Her bloodlust vanished as though it had never been there and Lucas fell to his knees, heaving to catch his breath.
He did not know how she did it but for her to be so precise when letting out her blood lust, she must be a professional awakened.
“Now, run along.” Alice said, putting the textbook away.
“I can’t have the other students misunderstanding that I’m bullying you, right?” She waved him away.
Lucas got her message and stood up right away.
He bowed his head and yelled, “Thank you for your generosity, Miss Alice.
I will leave now.” With that, he dashed out of there.
His minions didn’t know what to do but they felt this was the chance to hurry out of there before getting caught up in whatever it was Lucas got caught up in.
‘She must be an S-class.’ Lucas concluded as he ran out of the class.
‘I know it.
The gap between B and A-class isn’t that huge.
But for S-class…
The gap is so wide that I cannot even begin to understand it.’ “Wait up, Boss.” His guys called out to him but he kept running.
He took the stairs up and ended up at the rooftop.
‘Ah, to think I almost got on the bad side of an S-class awakened.’ he dropped his hand on his face and started laughing like someone who had lost his mind.
‘I must’ve been crazy.’ “Now that that’s settled,” Alice dropped her head on her pillow again.
“Are you alright?” She asked Damian who flinched lightly and shyly turned his head to her.
“Ah, I’m fine.” He said, slightly flushing.
“They didn’t really get to do anything to me.” “Well, that’s good.
You’re in my care, so I’ll do everything to make sure you’re safe.” She said and eyed the rest of the class.
“Even if it means I have to beat the crap out of a few certain people.” Her comment made a few uncomfortable and since they had no idea what class she fell on, they thought it would be better to observe and not get on her bad side for the time being.
But some felt Alice was being too arrogant for someone who wouldn’t proudly announce what class they fell on.
But from the looks of it, she was able to overpower Lucas so easily, so it only meant she was either A-class or S-class.
“No way.” The blonde girl sitting on the second row exclaimed.
Her group of friends were talking about it but she couldn’t bring herself to admit that Alice was an S-class.
“What are you talking about, Clarissa?” Her friend with the short black bob-cut and a tiny mole next to her left eye asked the blonde girl, Clarissa.
“I mean, if you look at it,” her second friend chipped in, “Steph is right.
Alice, the new girl, should fall either in the A-class or S-class category.” This one has wavy brown hair and liked to apply a bunch of cosmetics but she was pretty much okay without them.
Inferiority complex in their group was evident but they somehow had a strong bond that could not easily be broken.
Clarissa, the blonde girl, was basically their leader, an A-class awakened with very good stats; Steph and Maki (wavy hair girl) were also A-class awakeneds, but they weren’t as excellent at utilizing their skills and stats as Clarissa did.
In other words, Clarissa was a genius.
“I know, Maki.
But I can’t just put her in the S-class category.
After all, it’s super rare.
It’s not that easy for an S-class to walk in through our doors.” “We know it’s difficult, but it’s not impossible.” Steph said.
“And she may be one of them, given how she hasn’t felt a single hint of intimidation from you or anyone else.” “What are you talking about?
I never tried to intimidate her.” Clarissa declared but her friends knew otherwise.
“Oh, sure.
Sure.
The deadly glare wasn’t an act of intimidation at all.” Maki said and chuckled.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Clarissa grunted and threw her gaze away, allowing them to talk as they pleased.
‘In this class, as well as this entire school, I am the only one who gets to shine.’ She glanced back at Alice.
Beautiful Alice who was fair and powerful…
She was a threat to her status and she gritted her teeth.
‘I will not let an awakened bimbo to come here and steal my stage.
Never.’ Alice’s ear perked.
She heard it just as the thoughts played in Clarissa’s head and exclaimed.
“Oh my, this seems interesting.” She grinned.
