- Chapter 210 - Chapter 210 That's why I told you to listen
Chapter 210: That’s why I told you to listen Chapter 210: That’s why I told you to listen So, the day ended with no more surprises, and as much as Alice liked to tag the day as peaceful, she got disturbed by other people’s affairs.
So, the class wasn’t called dangerous for no reason.
They bullied one another and of course, the bullied one didn’t back down from a fight.
It could no longer be referred to as bullying from that point because both parties wanted to see who was stronger and went head to head.
‘Such a rowdy set of kids.’ Alice thought as she yawned, a teardrop stuck at the corner of her eye and a tipsy expression.
She just wanted to sleep.
Miss Stella came in to get the afternoon roll call and make sure no one snuck out of school without permission.
And if they so dared to use a body double, she would know.
And that was why she was referred to as the sweet little devil by most of their classmates.
There was no way to classify her awesome abilities if not for the devil itself.
“Now, settle down,” Miss Stella called out as she entered the class.
It was the last period and usually, it wasn’t Miss Stella taking them, but it seemed like she had an announcement to make.
“You know how the government and agency have prioritized sports activities for students, so their hidden potentials can rise.
I mentioned that before but for the sake of our new students, I’ll repeat it.” Alice picked her ear.
What was that about the agency?
She didn’t quite get it.
“Rigorous sports is said to be the key to unlocking hidden potentials.” She explained, her gaze piercing towards the back and Alice flinched.
But when she looked at Miss Stella, she wasn’t looking in her direction at all.
Ah, she could’ve sworn she felt her gaze just a second ago.
‘She is so frightening.’ *Then just pay attention.* Leo said.
*I don’t want to have to explain everything later when we get home.* ‘I get it, I get it.
Quit your whining.’ “So,” Miss Stella continued, “It is my job as your form teacher to make sure every one of you partake in the sports event coming up.” ‘Sports event?
I thought she was talking about P.E.
for a moment there.’ *That’s why I told you to listen.* Leo sighed.
She was hopeless.
“The event will start next week and the entire school will watch.
This class has the most powerful students, so it won’t be pitched against other classes.
Hence, it will be divided into two.” “So, teach, we’re gonna be competing against each other?” One of the students asked after raising his hand and Miss Stella nodded.
“That’s right.
So, prepare yourselves, it’s going to be a fierce match.” Everyone started murmuring and while a lot of them seemed excited about it, there were some with concerns.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
And most of those with concerns were the B-class awakeneds.
“And to be clear, both groups will have an equal number of classes.
Thankfully, we have three new students, so both classes finally have an equal number.
This time, no one will get left behind.” She said confidently and brilliantly that the kids had no choice but to buy her words.
Miss Stella could spill out crap in the most pleasant way and that crap would sound like music to the ears of her students.
“Wait, she said we’re even now, right?” Someone whispered.
“Doesn’t that mean that two of them are A-class awakeneds and one is B-class?” They were using their heads and had figured it out but what they failed to figure out was that neither of those two were A-class at all.
They were past the ranks of S-class, and no one knew it.
“You hear that, Damian,” Alice said to him, smiling sheepishly.
“But I’m a bit worried.” Damian said and silently voiced his worries.
“What if I’m caught?” “Hm, that won’t happen.” Leo suddenly said and they both turned to him.
He was staring at them like he understood the situation more than anyone and had a solution to it, either way.
“So long as you’re standing behind Alice, her brilliance will cover up for what you’re lacking.” Damian gulped and slowly looked away.
“Is that so?” But then there was another worry.
“Then, what if we don’t end up in the same team?” He earned a finger flick that left a big bump on his forehead.
“It hurts.” He silently wailed.
“Stop worrying, Damian.” Alice said, comforting him after flicking his forehead.
“That’s not gonna happen.” The closing bell rang and everyone began to pack their bags.
“We’ll start the team selection tomorrow morning,” Miss Stella announced and then looked at the time.
“Since it looks like everyone is in a hurry to head home.
So, could you all come an hour earlier than you usually do?” As soon as she asked that, they all paused.
“Uh?
Is that supposed to be a joke?” Alice mumbled.
She was already having issues waking up the time she set, how was she supposed to wake up an hour earlier?
The rest of the class seemed to have the same thoughts and they all started settling down, taking their seats and facing Miss Stella.
Miss Stella’s wide grin, ahem, smile, hovered around them and she clasped her hands together.
“This is so wonderful.
You’re all so enthusiastic about the selection.” She said but it was clear she had just threatened them.
The one threat that every student hated.
Waking up early.
“Miss Stella,” Clarissa raised her hand.
“Yes, Clarissa?” Miss Stella gave her the audience she requested and she slowly dropped her hand, “How exactly are we going to go about this selection process that it ends up fairly done?” She asked.
“Why, it’s simple.
You’re all going to be picking papers.” As it stood, Miss Stella counted the number of B-class awakeneds they had in the classroom and the number of A-class awakeneds and then cut a piece of paper to pieces, dropping the letters ‘A’, which meant the first group, and ‘B’, which meant the second group.
B-class awakeneds would pick from a different box that A-class awakeneds were picking from and after that, they would take the letter they picked to Miss Stella and have their names written down for proper documentation of the group members.
To avoid a sudden uproar fueled with jealousy and dissatisfaction, no one was allowed to say the letter they picked out until the end of the selection process.
“I’ll go first.” Clarissa volunteered and her friends followed after her.
Everyone picked enthusiastically and Leo got up.
“Come, if we end up picking last, I won’t be able to work my magic.” He said and Alice got up.
She didn’t know what he was going to do but oh well.
Damian also stood up and as they made their way to the front, a sudden feeling made the students give way for them.
Damian picked first and after confirming what letter he picked, Leo said to Alice in her mind, *Use your third eye to see through the box and pick A.* He tucked his hand inside the box, picked his own letter and Alice went up next.
Miss Stella was surprised they all picked the same letter.
Of course, it was a sham; she knew that much, but she wouldn’t call them out.
At least, not in front of everyone.
If anything, this was a good thing.
“So, I hope we are all satisfied with the group we got.” Miss Stella announced after calling the names of everyone in each group.
And what a coincidence, the three new kids ended up in the same group.
Clarissa ended up in group A as well but both her friends ended up in group B.
“And now, I will select group leaders.” Miss Stella said.
“There’s no need to vote on this since I understand your capabilities very well.
For group A, Clarissa will be the leader.” She announced and Clarissa flipped her hair back, feeling it was a given.
“And for group B, Terrain will be the group leader.
Any objections?” There was no objection but everyone had begun to talk.
“Hey, Miss Stella made Clarissa the leader of Group A, doesn’t that mean she acknowledged her as the strongest?” Someone asked and they started talking in her favor.
“You’re right.
So, the new kids don’t stand a chance, right?” “Ahem,” Miss Stella cleared her throat, bringing all conversation to a halt.
“I don’t want any misunderstandings going around, okay?
I chose the leader of the groups based on past experiences and leadership skills.
If I were to pick the strongest as the leader, then…” She glanced at Alice who was nonchalantly swinging her legs while Leo leaned on the wall next to her.
“Just know that the strongest one here would hold no interest in this position.
That’s that.
You can all go home now.” Miss Stella wasn’t trying to be biased but she needed to drop hints for the good of her students.
She was sure that dropping hints would give them a clue that they were not to mess with Alice.
If any of them dared to mess with her while she wasn’t around, then it may just be over for them.
And she didn’t want that to happen to her students, so giving them a hint that Alice was strong enough to end them was enough.
