Chapter 219: Who do I remind you of?
Chapter 219: Who do I remind you of?
“Are they alive?” Alice asked and Miss Stella shook her head.
“I have no idea.” She said.
“She ran away, and I haven’t been able to come in contact with her.
Even homing abilities can’t find her.” She sadly lowered her head.
“Maybe it’s because she ran away long before the apocalypse.
She might as well be dead.” She smiled.
“But well, it’s all in the past.
I’m not trying to make you uncomfortable, so let’s just focus on your hair.
We don’t want to be late.” She started brushing her hair again and styled it a different style from the previous day, and once she had done that, she stared at Alice in the mirror with her hands on her shoulders.
“There, you’re all set.” She announced.
Alice could feel Miss Stella’s emotions even if she was smiling and hiding it.
It was like it was weighing on her shoulder.
Would it be poknoçing if she asked who that person was?
It wasn’t like she was going to use the information for anything.
She just…
Felt Miss Stella wanted her to ask more questions, so it would give her an excuse to talk about it, and the boulder would leave her chest.
How did she know this?
She had no freaking idea.
She was just doing what her gut feeling was telling her.
“So, this person,” Alice said, “You used to brush her hair a lot?
Is that how you learned how to brush because you have nice skills.” Miss Stella paused for a while and then laughed.
It looked like Alice was trying to cheer her up.
“Well, thank you.
And though I did brush her hair often, I did not learn these new styles from her.” She swiped Alice’s hair behind her ear.
“I had a daughter, that’s how.” “Ah,” Alice exclaimed.
The word ‘had’ hit hard.
Very hard.
“Her name?” “Grand.” Miss Stella said, causing Alice’s eyes to widen.

Wasn’t that the name of her boutique estate?
“And she was the type that loved shopping and expensive things.
She was such a charmer.” She chuckled.
“But well, she’s in a better place now, so that’s that.” Alice felt uncomfortable in her chest.
Why did she have to ask those questions?
This was why she did not want to concern herself with another person’s affairs, but Miss Stella just looked like she was sad.
That sunny personality of hers was covering the sadness she felt but it somehow came to Alice’s notice.
“Don’t feel bad.” Miss Stella said, drawing her cheek.
“Like I said, it’s all in the past.” “Then,” Alice just scolded herself for asking questions but yet, she still wanted to ask one more question.
She knew they were probably dead, and Miss Stella had acknowledged it too, but she still wanted to know who it was that Miss Stella saw in her.
“Who do I remind you of?” Miss Stella hesitated for a second and then forced her lips to curl up in a smile.
“My sister.” Alice got up, as if pushed by something, and hugged Miss Stella.
“Oh?
What’s this?” Miss Stella asked but Alice could not answer that question either.
Why was her body pushed to do that?
It must’ve been because she saw that glint in Miss Stella’s eyes.
She looked like she was okay but…
That glint, not that fog that shadowed her irises for a split second, pushed her.
“I need a hug.” She said.
“I’m still feeling sleepy, so hold me for a moment, Teach.” “Well, if it’s what you want, then why not?” She hugged Alice back, stroking her hair.
“There, there.
No need to overthink things.
It’s all in the past, okay?
The past can’t come back to haunt you unless you let it, so just look towards the future.” Alice tightened her hug a bit, biting her lips and her eyes glittering in sadness.
What was this suffocating emotion in her chest?
She wondered.
Ah, it was sadness, wasn’t it?
She has felt sadness so many times in the past but it never did her any good, so she forgot about it.
Instead of getting sad, she would get angry instead.
That way, if she was angry, she would work more efficiently and produce results.
Sadness did her no good.
She wanted to feel okay, and in Miss Stella’s warm embrace that felt like a mother’s touch, she was gradually feeling better, and her tensed shoulders eased.
“It’s time to eat.” Alice heard Leo’s voice and raised her head to find him at the door, already dressed in his uniform.
He was surprised by what he saw and tilted his head a bit, “What are…?” He paused as soon as he got a feel of Alice’s emotions.
They were rather…
Unstable.
What happened while he was downstairs?
Did she get another memory recollection?
This only happened when she recalled incidents from her previous life.
But he did not sense any organ rupture or a nosebleed, so what was it?
He looked up at Miss Stella who looked innocently at him.
“Leo,” Alice called, taking her hand down from around Miss Stella.
She had no more words to say, or rather, she didn’t know what to say.
Her feelings were a mess.
Leo walked into the room, took her hand, and said, “If something’s bothering you, you can go ahead and tell me.” He calmly said, staring into her dry eyes.
Yes, Alice was not one to cry so he didn’t expect to see any tears in her eyes.
It would’ve been a big deal if he did.
“Do you think something’s bothering me?” She asked with a smile and Leo hugged her.
“You’re so dumb that it seems you can’t even tell when something’s bothering you.” He said, crushing her with his embrace.
“So, how am I supposed to know?” “Well, you’re right about the dumb part.” She said, laughing but she clutched his back quite desperately.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” “Well, at least you’re not dying.” He let out words to make her feel better and she laughed once more.
“Does it hurt anywhere?” “No, not really.” She answered and Miss Stella took this opportunity to slip out of there.
She walked out of the room, closed the door, and rested her back on it, sighing.
Maybe she shouldn’t have spoken so much.
She ruined Alice’s mood.
She thought, for Alice who had no worries and no attachments to the world, if she heard her out, it wouldn’t make her feel anything, and that would make her (Miss Stella) feel better.
But she guessed wrong, it would seem.
“Well, at least she didn’t apologize.” She muttered.
Most people would start apologizing for asking questions or bringing up such a sensitive matter.
But if you looked at the situation, it actually looked like Miss Stella was the one asking insensitive questions and Alice was the one who lost these precious people.
“I guess I better tell Mark to pack up the food.
Alice may take a while.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Ahem, I don’t know where this is going, honestly
