- Chapter 221 - Chapter 221 She had a will
Chapter 221: She had a will Chapter 221: She had a will “Well, no harm in trying, I guess.” Leo said and slid his hand over Alice’s neck.
“What is it?” She asked as she watched him close in on the distance.
“What does it look like I’m doing?
I’m going to kiss you.” Alice stared blankly at him.
Was he trying to tell a joke, because it wasn’t funny?
But from the way he was acting…
She glanced down at his hand tightening around her waist and glanced back at his face…
He wasn’t joking.
“Stay still,” Leo said.
“Just do it like you did with Mark.
Maybe then you’d feel the plant again.” “I…
I know, but…” Ah, to do it like she did with Mark, then he’d have to be very intense when kissing her.
She didn’t know if she would be able to do it, not now at least.
She didn’t mind kissing but then she would end up looking flushed and out of breath.
Plus, they kissed for quite a while and they didn’t have that much time to spare.
“Why don’t we do this another time?” Alice suggested.
“I’m not really in the ‘mood’ right now.” Leo’s eyebrows twitched.
“Not in the ‘mood’?
Do I look like I’m trying to…?” He paused and let go of her right away.
He dropped his hand from around her waist and sighed.
If anyone walked in on them, it would just look like they were trying to make out.
Maybe he should’ve thought his actions through.
He watched her as she began to button her shirt up without being told.
She was slow.
“You made it seem like I was trying to do something bad to you.” He said and snapped his fingers, bringing back her blazers, and she was back to her snappy schoolgirl look.
“I don’t want to look like the bad guy, so we’ll pick this up later.” “Aren’t you always the bad guy though?” She asked, adjusting her sleeves.
“After all, you always do what you want.” “Please,” he folded his arms and said, “Speak for yourself.” They both fell silent.
The atmosphere had become weird all of a sudden.
And then, Leo palmed his face, his eyebrows and forehead slightly creased, as he hit a realization.
What the hell was he thinking anyway?

He was just realizing that his actions were a bit bizarre.
Now that he was thinking about it, he realized he hadn’t taken Alice’s feelings into consideration before he tried to kiss her.
Her nonchalance made him feel it was okay to do anything, but it was not okay.
She was still a human.
She is a young girl with a slightly bizarre character, but she still has feelings, even if they are currently chained.
She had a will.
Even if she acted like she did not care, he wasn’t meant to take her words as they came because she had yet to learn proper feelings.
So, it was unfair on her part.
If he did that, he would be no different from the guys who entertained the thought that they could do whatever they wanted with her and she would have no reason to refuse their advance.
It was the worst.
“Sorry,” he apologized, coming off as weird to Alice.
“I almost did something stupid.” Alice tilted her head and then her face contorted.
“What’s that look for?” Leo asked, seeing how damaged her expression looked.
Her eyebrows were furrowed, and her lips were curled upside down like she was staring at the most abstract creature on the planet.
It made Leo feel irked.
What did she take him for?
“There’s just so much I can tolerate.” He exclaimed but she suddenly took her steps lightly towards him, closing the distance between them.
She reached her hand towards his head and pressed the back of her palm on his forehead, startling him.
“What…?” “Constellations don’t get sick, do they?” She asked and took a step back.
“You don’t sound like yourself at all.
Did you not recharge well?” She examined him carefully, turning around to see if there was something off but there wasn’t anything off about him.
Then, why did he apologize?
Leo wasn’t one to apologize for something so silly?
Did he think it was going overboard to suddenly kiss her?
Well, that wasn’t right.
He should know she held no value to such things, so he wouldn’t apologize.
“Well,” she shrugged her shoulders.
“You look fine to me.
But, just in case, you shouldn’t push yourself too hard, okay?” She stretched her body, pulled Leo down by his shoulders, and then kissed his forehead.
“Cheer up.” Leo went silent and while she walked past him to head out, he could not utter a single word.
What did she just…
His heart seemed to slip a beat for no reason and he touched his forehead.
What was going on in her mind, after all?
She was right that constellations don’t get sick, but…
His face slightly flushed and covered his mouth…
For some reason, his heartbeat was accelerating and becoming louder.
“She doesn’t know when to stop, does she?” He dropped his hand from his mouth and brushed it through his hair, sweeping it back.
He looked up with quite the amused look on his face, his lips curled up and his eyes lighting in delight.
“But I don’t hate it either.
It’s nice.” Alice got downstairs and met Mark who acted completely normal, smiled at her, and said, “I packed your breakfast and lunch.
Have fun at school.” Alice paused, her mind flashing back to the kiss they shared but it did not stop her from smiling in glee and accepting the food from him.
“Thank you, Mark.
I can always count on you.” Hearing those words from Alice was far more reassuring than anything else and Mark was glad their relationship was fine, even after what happened at midnight.
Leo walked down and Alice turned to him, saying, “You should hurry.
Miss Stella is already waiting at the door.” Leo nodded and took her to the kitchen so she could keep all the flask in her ring.
Miss Stella did not know about Alice’s ring function so they couldn’t use it in her presence.
But they would have to disclose it one of these days.
“Bye, Mark.” “Bye, Alice.
Have a great day.” Mark waved at her, and Leo walked past him, the corner of his eyes monitoring Mark as he walked past, and Mark kept a still yet simple expression on his face.
But even with that, Leo felt he was gloating.
He must’ve been feeling proud since he was able to kiss Alice while he was away.
He shared a moment with Alice, he would say.
Leo shook his head and just walked out, hanging their bag over his shoulder.
It didn’t concern him.
