Chapter 224: And who created such a dumb tradition?
Chapter 224: And who created such a dumb tradition?
“Can I help you?” Alice asked, showing no interest whatsoever and Leo let go of her hand.
The black-haired guy stood in front of them with his hands in his pockets.
He scanned them properly and then settled his gaze on Alice.
‘What’s this guy’s problem?
Why is he just staring at me?
It’s getting kinda creepy.’ She thought, twisting her lips in contemplation.
There was this eerie atmosphere around him and it made her uncomfortable.
He was just standing in front of her, his eyes fixed on her and his thoughts sealed off.
Well, one thing was for sure: he wasn’t a hater; if not, she’d hear his thoughts.
Then…
‘Is he just another attention whore?’ She wondered.
‘If so, I think I can throw Leo his way so they can both start a circus or something.
I’m busy feeding my eyes with the adorable guy next to me.’ *Hey, don’t lump me with just anyone.* Leo retaliated.
*And especially someone so weak.* ‘Bleh, what do I care?
You’re all attention whores.’ Alice was a bit irked that he was just standing there and saying nothing.
Would it be rude if she kicked him far away from them?
It would, right?
So, he should hurry up and speak before the rope holding together her patience snapped and she ended up losing it.
“You,” he finally spoke up.
“Why haven’t you come to challenge me yet?” One, two, three, four, five…
Six.
It took Alice six seconds to take in the words this creepy guy said, and when she did, her lips quaked in confusion, and her eyebrows rose in disbelief.
“Huh?” She exclaimed.
Just where did this weirdo come from?
The class was strangely quiet and even when there was no teacher, they all looked like they were studying.
Wrong, they weren’t studying.
They were all silent because they were more than interested in what was going on in the back seat.
Apparently, this black-haired guy with the eerie but good-looking appearance was called Lance.

And Lance was…
The strongest guy in the class.
So, there’s this self-made tradition where a new student in the awakened class has to challenge the strongest in the class to determine their ranks.
But that mostly applied to A-class awakeneds since B-class wouldn’t stand a chance.
The first day of resumption was the day of grace but the first thing the next day was the day they looked for the strongest in the class and challenged them.
So, Alice and Leo were supposed to look for the strongest in the class and challenge them.
“And who created such a dumb tradition?” Alice asked, her face contorting with how much irritation she felt.
Damian, who had been in the school for a while, explained it to her based on what he had heard, but he never knew it was real until now.
Leo was equally surprised that such a tradition exists.
For what reason were they trying to create rankings in a class where they were only there to learn and go home?
It wasn’t like the top in the class would get any presents or subject the rest to be their slaves.
So, it was basically a stupid tradition.
“First off, no one told me that there’s such a dumb tradition and secondly, I see no reason why I have to fight the strongest person in class.
You want to keep the title?
Go ahead.
I’m not gonna try to fight you for it.” Alice threw her face away from him, showing she had no interest whatsoever.
If he wanted to fight someone, then he could go look in a mirror and punch himself in the face; she didn’t care.
“Are you refusing?” Lance asked, his eyes squinting in disappointment.
“I said I don’t want to.
What are you gonna do about it?” Alice took out her pillow and dropped her head on it.
“Just buzz off already.
You’re ruining the scenery.” Damian felt a bit uncomfortable.
He was feeling pressured all of a sudden.
His airways were clogged, and his chest was tightening.
Alice sensed the sudden aura release, and she opened her eyes to find Lance releasing his aura and trying to display his dominance, and the one who was suffering was Damian.
“Hey, knock it off!” She snapped at him but he didn’t take her seriously at all and kept releasing his aura.
The other students who were sitting close to them had already created distance, knowing they would only suffer suffocation from the intense pressure of his aura.
But even at that, the rest of the class was shrouded with his aura, so they were all uncomfortable and short of breath.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Alice asked, raising her head and patting Damian’s back.
He was heaving quite heavily, trying to catch his breath but it was difficult.
“You may not care about this but it’s a tradition that every A-class adhered to in this class.” He looked down at her, perceiving her as an ant and feeling proud of his aura release.
“And no one is an exception.” “So, you want to force my hands into it by targeting Damian?” She asked, her face looking wrecked with provocation.
“I’m not targeting anyone.” He said, his lips curling up in amusement.
“He’s just too weak to withstand this little bit of aura.
So, he’s not worthy of being in front of me while I speak to you.” Alice went silent and then she dropped her head, laughed, and said, “Not worthy?
Are we talking about worth now?” She raised her head, showing the bloodlust in her eyes, and Lance flinched, instinctively taking a step back.
“Ah,” Lance exclaimed, shocked that he cowered for a second, just from perceiving her bloodlust.
What was that just now?
How could she release such intense bloodlust without even letting her aura out?
At the corner, Lucas silently snickered.
It would seem he was the only one who had noticed that Alice wasn’t like the rest of them.
She wasn’t an A-class awakened, she was S-class.
He was sure about it.
But he wasn’t going to let this information slip.
He would let everyone learn it the hard way, just as he did.
‘She’s done it now,’ Alice’s ear perked up a bit, hearing Clarissa’s thoughts, and she turned to look at Clarissa, who was backing the scene, but she had this amused and excited expression playing on her face.
Everyone was too busy paying attention to what was going on to even notice that she was slowly going mad with excitement.
‘She humiliated me.
But Lance will teach her a lesson.
He’ll break her arm and let her taste defeat.
She will never speak so indifferently again.
She’ll finally know her place, haha.
Oh, I can’t wait.’ Alice scratched her ear.
Well, that was quite disturbing to hear.
She turned to Lance and got rid of her bloodlust.
By this time, Lance’s aura had shrunk instinctively, feeling he was being prey to this girl whose powers were still yet to be known.
“Quick question,” Alice changed her attitude all of a sudden.
Since he had stopped releasing his aura to suffocate Damian, she wanted to be thorough.
“You said you beat everyone in this class, right?
That’s why you’re considered the strongest.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Hm, this guy’s gonna regret pulling that move against sweet Damian
