Chapter 227: Just what was going on with her?
Chapter 227: Just what was going on with her?
‘Again?’ Lance stared at his hand.
This was the third time with Alice and…
He looked up at her…
He had won again.
At first, given that he had no idea what they were planning, he decided to let her attempt it.
Even if she won the first one, he was confident that he would win the rest without a sweat.
But as soon as the referee made the call for the first round, no one moved.
Alice, who had no idea what Lance had been planning, figured out right away that he wanted her to win the first bout.
“Ah,” she exclaimed, feeling she had misjudged him.
“What’s the problem?
Aren’t you going to try to win?” The smirk on her lips told him that, just like Leo, she had no plans of winning this.
“Well, if that’s the case, let me lend you a hand.” She tightened her grip on his, and then, when he thought she was going to finally make a move to win, she took his hand and pulled back with so much force that one would think Lance had taken action and beat her.
Lance was speechless.
She had used her own strength to lose.
The action just now was so fast and so…
Shocking.
How could she have taken his hand back till hers reached the desk?
What sort of stunt was that?
“Well, it looks like I lost the first round.
Two more, I guess.” Alice said, releasing his hand and he looked at his hand, still stunned.
Her grip on his hand left her prints all over.
His pale hand was red and his palm throbbed.
Such strength.
And to think she used it to lose.
Ah, was this her passing on a message?
That she could win whenever she wanted to and lose whenever she wanted to?
He looked up at her as she perked up her glasses with no sign of remorse.
Who in their right mind found joy in losing?

But that wasn’t the case.
Alice did not find joy in losing.
She found joy in demeaning her target.
He was so proud that he could win whatever fight or whatever match, but if he didn’t have a choice in winning or losing, his pride would fall.
Slowly, she would torture his tiny ego.
And at the end of the match…
“I guess that makes three losses for me.” Alice said with a delightful smile.
“Shall we head out now?” …
She would get serious.
Lance got up, feeling utterly defeated.
He has won but his victory was no more than a loss to him.
He played right into the opponent’s trap.
“Lance,” Clarissa called and Lance looked down at her.
“You won.
You should take pride in it.” Ah, during the first match, it would’ve seemed like Leo let him win, but this match, which had a little more effort from his opponent made it seem like he won while Alice used her strength.
But what they were doing was something far from what they could see.
In fact, he wanted to struggle to lose but Alice was just so strong that his strength could not measure up to hers in the slightest.
He was ashamed.
But even still…
He looked towards Leo…
He wanted to get a chance to challenge Leo with his full might.
Maybe they would get a chance during the sports practice.
“I understand but there’s nothing to take pride in.” Lance said, shocking Clarissa.
“For now, at least.” Clarissa watched them leave the class and gritted her teeth.
Just why was this happening?
She wasn’t a fool, so she knew quite well that Leo and Alice messed up the match and lost to Lance on purpose.
But even then, she would use their haughtiness to taunt them, since the strongest in the class by title was still Lance.
She bit the tip of her thumb, her expression changing to that of a gritting witch.
(Yeah, I said it.
She’s a witch) “I need to get stronger.” She mumbled under her breath.
“I need to teach her a lesson.
I need to…” She paused, having realized something and the corners of her lips curled up into a menacing grin.
“Ah, that’s right.
I’m the leader of the group, and she’s in our group, so…” She silently cackled.
Her friends sitting next to her tilted their heads, wondering if she was okay.
The air around her was grim and it looked like she was slowly running mad, mumbling to herself and cackling under her breath.
Just what was going on with her?
Meanwhile, Alice returned to the classroom, humming to herself like a hummingbird, and went straight to her seat with the entire class staring at her and wondering what she went to do with Lance.
“Hah, much better.” She exclaimed.
“I let out a little steam and got revenge.
A win-win, haha.” “Alice,” Damian called.
“Did you get into a fight?” He asked but she scoffed.
“Why would I get into a fight with some dumb kid?” She asked and looked away.
‘I just gave him a little beating, that’s all.’ “Pft,” Leo almost laughed and they both turned to him.
“Sorry, I just thought of something funny.” He said but Alice knew he heard her thoughts.
“Hm, you don’t say.” Her sly grin, while she rested her cheek on her palm, gave her thoughts away quite easily, and Damian, though was not the brightest of minds, felt he knew what had happened.
‘Ah, she probably beat him up.’ he thought.
‘But she doesn’t look like the violent type.’ he glanced at her softly, watching her in a light that made the rhythm of his heart soften.
‘Yet she kills monsters a ton, so I shouldn’t judge her by her looks.’ He shook his head and lowered it, thinking.
“Um, Alice,” he called out.
“Can I ask you something?” “Why not?” “Well, did you beat Lance for looking down on you?” He knew Alice was very strong.
A height that he could never reach, so he wondered if the thought of others who were weaker than her looking down on her made her angry to the point that she would hit them.
If that were the case, then he was going to have to tread more lightly around her so he didn’t get on her nerves.
“What are you talking about?
Why would I beat him for something so simple?” She touched his forehead and pushed him back a bit, not intending to flick him this time around.
“Well, then, I…
I know you,” he glanced around with his eyes if anyone was listening in and lowered his voice a bit, “…beat him up when you both went out just now.
Isn’t that the reason?” “Obviously, it’s not.” She said and then moved closer, reaching her hand out to arrange the scattered areas of his hair, stroking gently and smiling softly.
“I don’t mind people talking down on me, sometimes.
It’s because they’re ignorant and don’t know a thing about me.
But then, they take it too far and try to show their little strength, hurting the person I care about.
Ah,” she moved back.
“That’s what gets me mad.
So, I gotta teach them a lesson for harming my person.
Do you understand now?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah WOW, she’s so cool
