- Chapter 230 - Chapter 230 It's 'wet behind the ears', Alice
Chapter 230: It’s ‘wet behind the ears’, Alice Chapter 230: It’s ‘wet behind the ears’, Alice “You!
What did you do to Lance?” A raging Clarissa demanded, her face contorting in anger and her blood gradually boiling.
Alice stared at her for a while and when it looked like she was going to answer, she opened her mouth and asked, “Hm, who’s that?” This only leads to fueling the flames more.
“You!” Clarissa’s eyes raged, and she attempted to storm towards Alice, but Leo had his eyes on her, giving her the shivers and an endearing pressure fell on her, causing her to pause right away.
One more step and it looked like her legs would be cut off in an instant.
She gulped and looked up at Leo with sweat rolling down the corner of her face.
How was he putting so much pressure on her with a simple stare?
Alice, who had completely forgotten who she was referring to as Lance, tilted her head, wondering what Clarissa wanted to pick a fight with this time.
“But really, who’s Lance?” She asked, causing Clarissa’s blood to run with rage.
“Um, Alice,” Damian called softly.
“Lance is the guy you sent wrestled two days back.” He said.
“You walked out with him after he won, remember?” Alice snapped her fingers in realization and she exclaimed, “Oh!
That guy?
Oh right, his name was Lance.
I didn’t think it was relevant to remember his name.” She said and laughed.
“Anyway,” she turned to Clarissa.
“Why are you asking me what I did to him?
You can go and ask him yourself, can’t you?” “How am I supposed to do that when I have no idea where he is.” Clarissa yelled.
“After he left with you the other day, he never came back to class and no one has heard a word from him.
You…
You did something to him, didn’t you?” Her eyebrows furrowed slightly as her eyes squinted and she asked with disdain spewing from her gaze, “Did you kill him and hide his body somewhere?” “Hah!
And why would I go ahead and kill a high school brat who’s still wet in the ears?” She asked and Damian whispered, “It’s ‘wet behind the ears’, Alice.” He said and she nodded, patting his head.
“Oh, right!” She smiled.
“Why would I bother killing a brat who’s still wet behind the ears?” “Are you messing with me right now?
What do you mean by that?
We’re all the same in this class so still trying to act high and mighty.” Clarissa spat out.
She was already furious at the fact that Alice might have some sort of hidden power that makes her special and now she was talking like she was a big shot.
It made her mad, and she hated her more.
“But I’m just speaking the truth, aren’t I?” Alice said, and with a single step, she was already in front of Clarissa.
All it took was one step, and no one knew how fast Alice was, but she got to Clarissa in no time.

Clarissa’s eyes widened as she saw Alice in front of her all of a sudden.
She staggered back and even almost fell but Alice grabbed her arm and held her, preventing her from falling.
There was no one in the class besides them so even if she fell, no one would watch her embarrassing moment, but Alice felt it would only burden her, putting yet another unnecessary reason for this bright and pretty girl to hate her.
“Careful.” Alice said but Clarissa gritted her teeth and yanked her arm from Alice’s grip.
Alice let go; if not, Clarissa would’ve never been able to yank her arm out.
“Stay away from me and answer the question.
What did you do to Lance?
Where is he?” She rudely demanded and Alice paused for a moment.
Her eyes were fixed on Clarissa, and she stared for an awfully long time, making Clarissa, as well as her friends behind her, uncomfortable.
“You, what are you doing?” Clarissa asked, taking steps back and putting her guard up.
“You creep, what do you think you’re doing?
Why are you keeping silent?
Are you looking down on me?!” Leo glanced at Alice and before he knew it, her nose started bleeding.
His eyes widened and Alice, who realized she was bleeding, touched the blood rolling down her nose.
That memory…
Ah, it made her feel so shitty all of a sudden and she cussed, “Ah, fuck!
I get it now.
This is rather…
Annoying.” She exclaimed, looking up with a rather glazed expression.
“Alice,” Leo called but she shook her head lightly and waved her hand.
“I’m fine.
Got a handkerchief?” She asked and he casually took one out of his pocket, taking her word for it.
He realized she had recalled a memory from the previous life and that was why she was bleeding from her nose.
But judging by how small it was, it might’ve either been an irrelevant memory or something that had so little significance to the change of this world.
Alice took it from him, cleaned her nose, and turned to Damian, who was equally confused and worried.
He had no idea she was bleeding since she was in front of him and backing him, but by the time he saw the blood on the handkerchief, his eyes widened and he hurried to her side.
“Alice, are you okay?” He asked, alarmed.
“Oh, this?
It’s not a problem.
I’ve had worse days.” She said, smiling with a carefree spirit but Damian was still worried.
He turned to Leo, who didn’t seem to worry, and wondered if it was nothing like she said.
“What sort of act is this?” Clarissa asked, looking agitated for no reason.
“Why are you bleeding all of a sudden?” “Well, the thing is…” Alice sighed pitifully as he said, “…
I’m a terminally ill patient and I don’t have long to live.” She sobbed in the handkerchief she had used to clean up the blood on her nose.
“What?!
Is that true?” A gullible Damian asked, but Leo turned his face away, probably trying hard to hold his laughter, and Clarissa trembled.
She trembled in anger and yelled.
“What is this?!
Do you take me for a fool?!
You’re an A-class awakened so how could you be terminally ill?
It’s impossible so stop your bullshit and get serious.” Alice glanced away, sticking her tongue out in a silly gesture.
“Well, that didn’t go according to plan.” She said and laughed.
“Is…
Is that true?” Damian asked.
“You’re not really terminally ill?” He asked and Alice looked at him, giving him a silly smile.
“Of course, I’m not.
Would I be up and kicking if that were true?” She dropped her hand on his shoulder.
“Awakeneds can’t be terminally ill.
It’s impossible because things like early diseases would be discarded the moment your body gets blessed by the constellation and you gain superhuman strength.” “Wow, how’d you know that?” Damian asked and Alice, who had no idea how she knew that either, slowly turned her head to Leo.
“Ah, I wonder.
How do I know that?” She was clearly blaming him this time but he didn’t say anything and just cleared his throat.
Clarissa felt extremely vexed.
Why were they trying to make a fool of her?
How were they feeling comfortable with this?
This wasn’t okay in the slightest.
It wasn’t and she hated that they were being so carefree while she was worried about Lance.
Who knows what this girl had done to him and where she took him?
“Alice,” Clarissa called, taking a step closer and Alice looked up.
“Do you take people’s lives lightly?” She asked, confusing Alice till she raised her head, showing her infuriated expression, and yelled.
“Just tell me already!
Where did you take Lance?” Her scream attracted a bit of attention from outside, and people started wondering what was going on when Alice walked up to her and dropped her hand on her shoulder.
“Chill,” she simply said.
“I’m not your enemy.
You might hate me because it’s in your guts but it’s all a misunderstanding.
I…” She recalled the memory she had and shook her head.
Even if she said it now, what good would that do?
She would never believe her and since the hatred has run so deep in the past till her death, she would not believe her in this life.
So, the best she could do was try not to make that hatred run deep.
“I didn’t do much.” She said and dropped her hand from her shoulder.
“I told him to try and hit me and if he succeeded, I’d fight him for real, so he tried.
But he never got a hit in.” “What are you saying?” Clarissa asked.
“He couldn’t get one hit in no matter what he did, so I didn’t fight him for real.
But for the sin of harming others to get what he wanted, I didn’t let him off lightly.” “Then, what did you do?” “I punched him in the guts.” She answered and started walking past Clarissa.
“But don’t worry, I didn’t use my full strength.
If I did,” she flipped her hair back.
“He’d be dead for sure.” She stopped and added, glancing over her shoulder, “But I guess even with a little bit of my strength, I could send someone who isn’t strong enough flying, so if you couldn’t find him in his house, then you can just check every hospital in the area.
Maybe you’ll find him there.
Ciao!” Clarissa stood there, her head lowered and her blood flowing up to her brain.
“Are you joking with me?!” She yelled and turned to Alice, yelling.
“There’s no way Lance would’ve lost so easily to the likes of you.
He’s the strongest in our class and he has the strength of a thousand beasts.
So there’s no way a girl like you could’ve beaten him.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Have some idea about my story?
