Chapter 231: Wasn’t he just pathetic?
Chapter 231: Wasn’t he just pathetic?
“Are you joking with me?!” Clarissa yelled and turned to Alice, yelling.
“There’s no way Lance would’ve lost so easily to the likes of you.
He’s the strongest in our class and he has the strength of a thousand beasts.
So there’s no way a girl like you could’ve beaten him.” Alice wanted to ignore her outburst.
For someone as headstrong as her, there was no way she would believe her.
So, it was best to ignore her.
Clarissa’s outburst seemed to have attracted the attention of students in the other awakened classes, and they all peered out of their classes, wondering what all the commotion was about and why Clarissa, who was known to be levelheaded, was suddenly yelling like a madman.
“Is this really okay?” Damian asked, unsure as they walked on.
“Just leave it.” Alice answered, once again flipping her hair back and acting cool.
“She can yell for as long as she wants, it’s not going to do anything.
Talking won’t convince her so what else can I do?” Damian nodded and glanced back.
Clarissa wasn’t going to let Alice off.
There was no way she would believe any of the crap she said and no way she would let her walk away like she was down queen.
Slowly, Clarissa huffed, and her breath became visible.
Her blue eyes turned crystal like and her hands started freezing.
“Clarissa, what are you doing?” Steph asked, holding her hand but she let go at once.
“Ah,” she looked at her hand.
It had frostbite all of a sudden.
“Are you insane?
What do you think you’re doing?
You’re at school right now.
Do you want to kill someone?” Maki yelled at her but Clarissa had killed all sense of reasoning.
She was an A-class awakened with crazy potentials and one of that was her ability to control ice.
Clarissa’s hair turned white, and she raised her hand; ice suddenly started coming out of her hands and taking the form of a bow.
“In this school,” she said, cold breath escaping the corners of her mouth.
“I will not let a vixen like her run rampant,” Steph looked at her friend worriedly and, at the same time, angrily.
She was so fixated on a girl who did nothing to her and even when she hurt her friend, she did not stop.
Just who had she become all of a sudden?

There was a clamor in the hallway, and everyone had begun to hide for fear of getting caught up in that attack.
“Hm, is it just me or did the air suddenly become cold?” Alice asked, “I feel it too.
Maybe it’s…” Damian looked back but by the time he did, it was already too late.
Clarissa was ready to release the three giant ice arrows from her ice bow.
His eyes widened, and his instincts told him to help Alice down, but he was actually pretty slow.
The released arrows moved at a speed no one could see.
Well, not no one.
Alice turned around as soon as she sensed the arrows headed towards her.
Of course, in her eyes, those super-fast arrows were as slow as a sloth.
So, she turned to Leo, who shrugged.
He wasn’t going to do anything about it, so she rolled her eyes and raised her hand.
Judging by how the places the arrows passed froze up, she thought it would be annoying if she caught them with her bare hands.
So, she would use a little of her gravity to stop them in their tracks and let them fall.
This little thing was a piece of cake.
“If you’re going to try and hurt me, you should at least try to work with something lethal.” Alice said and Clarissa’s eyes widened.
“H-how did you…
How did you stop my arrows?!” She yelled in utter disbelief and Alice looked at the ground.
The floor was frozen solid thanks to the arrows and she said, “Well, like I said,” she looked up at Clarissa.
“If you’re going to hurt me, then you’d better try with something lethal.” Alice turned around and wrapped her arm around a dumbfounded Damian.
“Come on, let’s hit that cafeteria.” She smiled and he stuttered.
“S-s-sure.” He said.
‘Ah, I didn’t see anything just now.
What..
what happened?’ It was a moment reflex but he had forgotten that Alice was ‘the’ Alice who could do all things.
So, he had tried to protect her when he wasn’t even capable of protecting himself.
Wasn’t he just pathetic?
(Awn, sweetie, you’re not pathetic in the slightest) In the eyes of those watching (from a safe distance), as soon as the arrows were released, they were stopped right away with Alice’s outstretched hand.
She didn’t make contact with them but was able to stop them.
It was as baffling as it was fascinating, and then they fell to the floor, freezing all that they came into contact with.
In other words, Alice had telekinesis abilities, right?
So many started to speculate, and those who were seeing Alice for the first time couldn’t help but wonder who she was and how she was able to get a rise out of the picture-perfect Clarissa.
“Ah, she did it like it was nothing.
Do you think she’s above A-class?” Someone from the other class in their little gossip group.
“Do you think she might be S-class?
She has an aura no one can match.” “What are you spouting?
Have you ever seen her aura?” “Dude, just think about it.
She was so cool when she stopped the arrow and walked away like it was nothing.
Now that’s what I call aura.
She’s a goddess.” “Then, she could be a slightly stronger A-class.
S-classes aren’t that easy to come by and if she’s one…
Ah, then she can pull down this whole school with a finger snap if she gets mad, isn’t that right?” “But…
What could they have been arguing about?” Class A was referred to as the red class.
A set of students who were capable of so many ‘dangerous things’ and one of those dangerous things was what Clarissa displayed earlier.
Having a spat with someone like that…
Ah, it was already safe to assume that one’s life was over the moment she pulled out that move.
Throughout that day, Alice had all eyes on her.
She became the talk of the awakened classes in an instant, since they had been the only ones present when Alice displayed her prowess.
As for the regular students, it didn’t take more than an hour before the words spread to them as well, but it was a bit different from how it actually happened.
As they say, the more words get out, the more different versions are birthed.
Some said Alice had deliberately provoked Clarissa just to show off how incredible she was.
While others said, Clarissa had been so jealous of Alice that she went ahead to fire three ice arrows at her in the hallway to prove she was the best.
Versions like that were circulating all around the school and before long, Alice and Clarissa were called to Miss Stella’s office.
“What’s this I’m hearing?” Miss Stella asked with a not-so-friendly smile and an irk at the top of her head.
“My students are using their powers to fight over a boy?
My students are getting jealous of one another and having fights with their powers?
My students are trying to show off their powers?
Just what was going on while I had to leave school for an hour?” Clarissa stayed silent, her gaze directed at the corner while Alice crossed her legs and folded her arms.
Leo was also in the office but he stood silent, leaning on the wall with his eyes closed.
They could pretend he wasn’t there.
“That’s all bullshit!” She said, and Miss Stella slapped her textbook on the desk, shocking her, and she flinched.
“Alice, what did I say about language?” She asked, her not-so-friendly smile becoming deadly.
“You’re in a school, and you’re a student, so tone it down.” “Ah, sorry, sorry.” Alice said.
“And sit properly.” Miss Stella added.
“Yes, ma’am!” Alice dropped her crossed legs right away.
She adjusted her glasses, sat composed with her hands on her closed thighs and her back straightened.
Miss Stella saw how obedient she was and sighed.
Just what happened?
She knew Alice would not go ahead and pick a fight, especially since it was lunchtime and she hadn’t eaten that morning.
There was no way she would sacrifice her eating time for something like that.
So, the problem had to be from Clarissa, right?
She turned to Clarissa looking a little worried.
She noticed Clarissa held a bit of hostility towards Alice the moment Alice resumed but she never thought far about it.
She thought it would slide soon but this…
This was way beyond her expectations.
Clarissa wasn’t the type to start meaningless fights even if she didn’t like the other person, so what happened?
“Clarissa?” Miss Stella asked but Clarissa stayed silent.
“How do we tackle this issue if you decide to stay silent?
Do you want me to listen to Alice’s side of the story alone and not yours?” Clarissa opened her mouth to speak, but at that moment, her eyes grew teary, and she started crying.
This act shocked them both and most especially Alice.
“H-hey, why…
Why are you crying all of a sudden?” Alice asked.
