- Chapter 234 - Chapter 234 Ah, do you really mean it
Chapter 234: Ah, do you really mean it?
Chapter 234: Ah, do you really mean it?
“What are you saying?” Clarissa asked and they all turned to find her with an angst expression on her face.
“Why are you speaking like that?
Alice, what are you planning?” Alice glanced at Clarissa.
It looked like she was still mad at her with hatred, and maybe seeing her friends with her was fueling it more.
Did she think her friends were betraying her by going to her enemy?
She couldn’t tell.
These sorts of things were way more complicated than she thought, and she didn’t even have the energy to think things through.
How to handle this?
But before she moved, Steph and Maki got up, shielding Alice from Clarissa.
“No, Clarissa, what are ‘you’ planning?” Steph asked.
“You almost put everyone in danger earlier and you still feel Alice is the one planning something?” She folded her arms.
“Be reasonable and reflect on what you did.” A soft mutter escaped Clarissa’s lips on her friends’ apprehension, “What?” Alice looked at the ‘shields’ in front of her and wondered if this was okay.
“You heard us.” Maki shipped in.
“Ever since Alice resumed this class, you’ve been hard on her toes.
She never spared you a glance but your hatred for her keeps growing.
We ask you why because we care about you but you don’t even answer us.
It’s like we’re some strangers to you.” “N-no, that’s not…” “And then earlier today, when you were going out of control, we tried to stop you.” Steph added, her expression turning sadly grim as she held her hand that had just been healed.
“But I think I should’ve taken thought of my own situation first.
I almost lost my hand just because I was worried for my friend.” She raised her gaze to glare at Clarissa.
Clarissa gritted her teeth and glanced behind them at Alice who was doing little to nothing and not even paying much heed to what they were doing.
The look in her eyes said so.
“I just…” She clenched her fists and then released them.
“It was my fault this time.” She said, bowing her head and admitting defeat.
“I’m sorry, Maki, Steph.
I don’t know what came over me.” Clarissa’s apology seemed to stun them more than the fact that she had gone out of control earlier.
The entire class watched in awe and disbelief.
Just what was going on?
How was the prideful and picture-perfect Clarissa bowing her head and apologizing?

‘Seems like she values her friends at least.
Well,’ Alice glanced away.
‘That’s good, I suppose.’ Clarissa wasn’t an unreasonable person.
She knew when she was wrong, though she was hardly ever wrong so there was never a need to apologize.
But it was a different case when it came to Alice.
“Ah, do you really mean it?” Maki asked, showing her shock.
Steph was still speechless from Clarissa’s apology.
“Yes.
I never intended to hurt you and I’ll try not to get out of control from now on.” She promised that with her head bowed and her eyes shut together.
She would try but there was no telling how far Alice would push her button.
Wait, did Alice ever push her button, to begin with?
“Ah,” she exclaimed softly and in shock.
Now that she was thinking about it, Alice didn’t do anything, did she?
She didn’t even give her the time of the day and yet her hatred kept increasing.
What happened?
Was it because she did not give her attention?
“Well, since that’s settled,” Alice spoke from behind them and they turned to find her resting her cheek on her palm.
“You girls accept her apology, right?
It’s not like it’s every day she goes full ice queen on us, so it was quite a sight.” She smiled, her pink soft lips curling up beautifully that from up close, the girls couldn’t help but feel envious.
She had such perfect facial and body proportions that the girl spirit in them wanted to ask what cosmetics she used or how she got to be that way.
“Ah, yes.” Steph answered, snapping out of it, and turned to Clarissa.
“I forgive you but next time,” she grabbed Clarissa’s hands.
“Please think first, and don’t let anything shroud your judgment.
You’re better than that.” “Yes,” Clarissa answered.
“Then, should we go back to our seats?” ‘Yes, yes.
Go back to your seats and live your little pretty lives.’ Alice thought, looking delighted that they wouldn’t bother her anymore.
‘I can finally sleep in peace.’ “Wait,” Maki called out.
“Have you apologized to Alice yet?” Alice’s face fell from her palm at Maki’s sudden words.
‘Or not.’ “Apologize to Alice?” Clarissa asked and they nodded.
“Believe it or not, you were out to kill her.” Maki said.
“If she weren’t as powerful as she was, then you’d have had three arrows lunged into her, and she might’ve possibly been a frozen statue by now.
So, she deserves an apology.” ‘Uh oh, I don’t like where this is going.’ Alice thought and sighed.
“Nah, you got it wrong.
Maybe I did provoke her a bit but that aside, we already settled everything in Miss Stella’s office.
So, it’s not a big deal.
Right, Clarissa?” Clarissa went silent.
Right at this moment, she felt Alice was using whatever means she could to look good in front of everyone.
She didn’t like it.
She didn’t need her charity.
But…
But if she turned down her words, then she’d have to apologize to her in front of everyone, and that was something she could not tolerate.
Why?
‘This hatred…
Where is it coming from?’ She gripped her hair and then forced out a smile.
“Yes, you’re right.
It’s all done and settled.” Clarissa walked away and Alice looked the other way.
She looked towards Leo who had his face buried in his book.
“Hm, how can you read in this commotion?” She asked him and he turned to her.
“It’s simple.
I just block out whatever sound that’s disturbing my peace.” He said and her eyes glistened.
“Whoa, you can do that?
Teach me.” She requested, and one look at her glistening eyes and Leo could tell what she intended to do once he taught her how.
“Not a chance.” He said.
“You’ll become deaf for 80% of the day.
And I can’t be responsible for that.” She clicked her tongue while rolling her eyes away.
“Oh, come on.
Give me some credit.” “I already gave you a lot of credit with that 20%.” Leo said and slowly flipped the page of his book.
“You should be grateful,” Damian watched them and then laughed.
They both turned to him, wondering why he laughed and then he realized that he did.
“Oh, I’m sorry.
Was I too loud?” He asked but Alice shook her head.
“No, but we have this sharp hearing so even if you laughed softly, we would still hear it.” Alice said.
“Why did you laugh?
Are you reading something fun?” She asked, drawing close to him but he shook his head.
“No, I wasn’t reading anything.
I just…” His gaze slowly fell and was replaced by a meek expression.
“Felt you two were so funny at times.” “So, I look like a comedian?” She asked, surprised but he quickly waved his hands in defense while shaking his head.
“No, no.
Not at all.” He said.
“It’s not that at all.
I…” He lightly blushed.
“I would never call you a comedian.” Still, Alice was confused.
Then how did they look funny?
“You’re not making much sense?” She said, suddenly pulling at his cheeks.
“How are we funny?” She asked and he ended up laughing more.
“Ah, he’s laughing again.
Come on, spill it.” Leo shook his head and turned away.
They were so childish.
But it did not stop his lips from curling up in a smile.
