Chapter 237: Do you want to come over and eat dinner?
Chapter 237: Do you want to come over and eat dinner?
Alice, Leo, and Damian headed down.
They walked out of the school premises with Alice glancing at the sports field once more.
The student Athletes were as busy as ever and she couldn’t help but prolong her gaze on them even as she took slow and steady steps with her companions.
Leo noticed she did that whenever they walked past and yet she would still say she didn’t like it because it was a hassle.
“So, will you take a cab home?” Damian asked bringing Alice’s gaze back to them.
“Yeah, and how about you?” Alice asked him but he shook it off easily like it was no big deal.
“I go back home alone a lot of times so I’ll be fine.” “Hm, Devon seems to be called into emergencies like this a lot.
Then, will you stay home alone?” Alice asked him and he nodded, bowing his head while looking quite sadly.
“Yeah, it’s the safest thing to do, I guess.” He said and Alice halted in her steps.
“Hm, that won’t do.” She said and the both of them also stopped, turning to her.
“What is it?” Leo asked.
“Well, who knows how long Damian will be inside the dungeon, so why doesn’t he just come stay with us till then?” She recommended and got a flick on the forehead.
A hard one that sent her two steps back.
“Hey,” she grunted with her teeth clenched.
“What’s the big idea?” She raised her gaze to glare at Leo.
“That actually hurts.” “Good.” Leo said, tucking his hand in his pocket.
“I hoped it would, so maybe it would shift your brain to the right position as well.” “And what’s that supposed to mean?” She dropped her hands.
“You’re a girl, Alice.
Remember that.
I don’t want to sound like I have anything against Damian,” he glanced at Damian and then back to her.
“Because I don’t.
But you can’t just invite a guy to your house, Mark’s house, just because you feel he’ll be lonely alone.
He’s a guy and you’re a girl, so you should know that boundaries are important to keep a steady and nonchaotic atmosphere.” He explained and Alice closed her eyes, not that she was trying to understand his words, but because she didn’t want to understand.
“Boundaries this, boundaries that.
I’m just telling him to come over so he doesn’t have to be the only one in his house.
Is that such a bad thing to do?” She asked, finally opening her eyes and showing that look in her eyes where she’d say, ‘I don’t give a damn what you say,’ but with her eyes alone.
Leo stared at her and then sighed.
Not a sigh of defeat but the one where he’d have to change his tactic.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
And to think he had the thought that Alice was growing.
But guess some things could not be changed.
He wouldn’t have worried so much and even overlooked her words to let Damian come over, but things weren’t as simple as they used to be.
As it was, Alice was in a state that neither of them understood.
There was that weird plant that she said was growing inside her and then the attractive fragrance that seemed to be growing and spreading slowly around her.
He hadn’t even gotten the chance to check if the plant had a tattoo once got kissed.
It was tricky, and it required an intimate action with Alice, so he wanted to take his time and analyze her properly, but how would he do that when she was inviting more guys- who could be the target of her body’s unknown condition- to stay by her side?
Not to talk of an innocent one whose mind was still not tainted yet.
“Damian,” Leo called and Damian flinched, thinking he was in trouble for some reason.
“Y-yes?” He answered.
“Do you want to come over and eat dinner?
After which, there’s a guest room where you can crash.” He asked and Alice’s eyebrows furrowed.
How was that any different from what she just asked?
What was he getting at?
“Alice doesn’t really do anything after getting home, so she’ll eat, and sleep till the next morning.” He added.
“But don’t worry, you won’t be unattended to.
You and I can work on the assignments given today, how does that sound?” Damian was surprised but more than that, he was actually excited about it.
“Well, well, I…” “Now, hold on just a minute!” Alice yelled and even swung her fist, ready to pay Leo back for the finger flick, but he softly dodged her fist, caught her arm, and dropped his hand on her waist, keeping her still.
“What are you playing at, Leo?” “Hm, I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He said and turned her around by her arm, locking her in his arms.
“But if I were to say what he aa actually doing, then I’d say I am getting myself a study partner so I can get both you and my assignment excellently done.
Is that a satisfying answer?” “Huh?
Don’t bullshit me.
That’s not what I was talking about.” She said, struggling to get out of his embrace.
“I asked him to come over first, but then you flicked me and scolded me, saying I was a girl, boundaries, and yada yada yada.
And now you’re inviting him?
Just what are you planning?” “The same thing you were planning.” Leo said and let go of her.
She took some steps back and watched him carefully.
“You feel Damian will be lonely, and so do I.
But if you ask him over, it might send out the wrong idea.
So, I decided to ask instead.” He said and turned to Damian.
“There’s no wrong idea gotten from two guys becoming study partners?” “That’s bullshit.
What sort of wrong idea would one get from a simple invite?” Alice asked, gnashing her teeth as her eyes blazed, ready to hit something and Damian instinctively took a step back.
For a moment, she felt so terrifying that he felt he would get swallowed up in her outburst, but she didn’t even look at him.
She was arguing with Leo who seemed very calm about the whole thing.
“And who the hell will get the wrong idea from such an invite, huh?
I only asked him to come to my house and spend the night because his brother isn’t home and he’ll be lonely all by himself.
What’s the big deal there?” She yelled at him.
“What part of that gives the wrong idea?” “Um,” Damian spoke up, battling whatever fear he was having of the situation.
“Alice, that…um,” Alice turned to him.
“Forgive me but all of what…
Um, all of what you just said could be very misleading.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah lease, what did you think of this chapter?
