Chapter 238: Did it hurt?
Damian had never seen Alice so angry.
Not even when Clarissa provoked her did she yell and show off such a terrifying presence.
Though, he supposed she’d get mad, getting flicked on the forehead to the extent that she had to take steps back.
“What do you mean by that?” Alice asked him and he took a deep breath.
“You see, I know the kind of person you are, so I definitely wouldn’t misunderstand.
We’ve only known each other for a few days, but I can tell your mind is simple, and you speak of things with surface meaning and nothing more,” he slowly bowed his head.
“Yet, it’s not a lie that your words can lead to serious misunderstandings.
If someone heard you, they’d think you were referring to something else.” “But I wasn’t and you know it.” Alice said, taking steps towards him.
“So long as you don’t misunderstand, it’s alright, right?” “No,” Damian shook his head.
“This has to do with your image.
So, don’t let others see you like that.” “Well,” Alice folded her arms.
“Screw their opinion.” “What?” “It’s not like I was talking to them and if they have a problem with me, I don’t care.
They can talk and stare but I still won’t care.” She boldly stared.
“It’s not my fault they have dirty minds and can’t see things as they are said.” Damian was stunned.
Ah, she was truly remarkable for saying that.
He knew she was nonchalant but to this extent…
He felt a sense of admiration all of a sudden.
“But I don’t see why he had to flick me so hard.” Alice said, frowning with her eyebrows furrowing.
“It really hurt.” “Ah, yes.” Damian turned to Leo.
“I know it’s not my place to say this but I don’t think that required the action you carried out.
If you could be a little more lenient with Alice, I’m sure you two can come to an understanding.” Leo went silent.
What understanding?
Right at that point, Alice still hadn’t gotten what he wanted her to dig in that thick skull of hers.
Well, that proves flicking her wouldn’t do any good- not that he did it for a valid reason.
He just wanted to hit her and irk her.
But this time…
It seemed like it hurt her so much that she was still frowning.
“Did it hurt?” Leo asked her, as if he had not heard all along when she complained that it hurt.

“Yes,” Alice answered.
“Then, does it still hurt now?” He asked and she went silent.
“After I flicked you and you felt the pain, did you feel it after then?” “No, but that doesn’t change the fact that it hurt a lot.
If it were a normal person, you’d have blown their skull off.” She complained, once again gnashing her teeth.
Leo shook his head while approaching her.
He stood right in front of her and sighed, “I see you’re mad.
Then, hope this helps.” He said and suddenly swiped her hair away from her forehead to kiss it.
Damian’s eyes widened.
He did not expect that.
“There, do you feel better now?” He asked her and she blinked, kind of confused.
“What did…
What did you just do?” “I kissed your forehead where it hurts.” Leo answered.
“Didn’t it say so in the book?
When you kiss the ‘booboo’ it goes away right away.
So, tell me.
Does it work?” Alice stayed silent.
Ah, she was supposed to respond at this moment, but for some reason, her lips wouldn’t part, and her vocal cords wouldn’t work.
It was like she was so stunned that she forgot how to speak.
But for a simple kiss on the head?
How come?
Leo looked at Damian and shrugged his shoulders.
“It’s out of my hands at this point.” He said.
“Maybe I did shift her brain a bit.” As soon as he said that, she felt irked and her eyes blazed.
“Which brain did you shift?
Want me to shift yours?” She threatened with her fist and Leo ran to hide behind Damian.
“Oh no,” he dramatically wailed.
“There’s a wild female out to get me.
What do I do?” “What?!
Are you calling me a wild female?
Come and get a piece of me, you scum!” As they rattled like that, somebody walked past them, and Alice bumped her shoulders into them.
“Ah, sorry.” She said and turned, only to find out it was a guy in a hood.
He looked suspicious.
Without saying a word, this guy went on his way.
Alice thought he was strange, but what was even more strange was that disgusting feeling she got swirling in the pit of her stomach as soon as she bumped into him.
It reminded her of the sensation of demons.
At that thought, her eyes widened.
‘Wait, demons?’ She raised her head to take another look at the guy but there was no one.
It was as if he had vanished into thin air.
‘Ah, did I imagine it?’ She wondered.
But there was that disturbing feeling she got from just thinking about it.
“Alice,” Leo called and Alice snapped out of her thoughts.
“Yeah?” She responded.
“Then, shall we go?” He offered, and she nodded, reverting to her calm and level-headed personality.
“Let’s hurry back so you can start cooking.” She said.
“Mark won’t be home till late again, and I don’t want to eat outside, so you’re going to have to cook today, Leo.” “Well, it’s not like I have a choice.” Leo mumbled and her forehead creased.
“What was that?” “The wind must be playing tricks on you.” He said right away and Damian, who was following them closely, laughed.
It was amazing how they could fight so fiercely just a minute ago, only to start acting like they were inseparable the next minute.
Alice had been so loud and fierce that for a moment, he was scared that that was her true nature and all her calm and reserved self was all an act so she could blend in.
But he was relieved that it was just a one-moment thing from being pissed.
And it looked like Leo was the only one who could piss her off so much and get away with it with just a kiss.
Ah, that kiss on the forehead.
It was so simple yet so beautiful to look at.
At least, from his perspective.
‘Honestly, they look good together.’ He thought, lowering his head.
‘I wouldn’t stand a chance even if I tried.’ Damian stopped, and the wind blowing steadily yet hard enough to make whooshing sounds followed the rhythm of his increasing heartbeat.
‘Ah…
What did I…
Just think about?’ CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Yeah, you just thought of taking a chance and how you’d never stand a chance even if you tried.
Sorry, hehe
