- Chapter 243 - Chapter 243 I understand what you're trying to say
Chapter 243: I understand what you’re trying to say Chapter 243: I understand what you’re trying to say Damian watched as Leo suddenly disappeared and wondered with widened eyes if Leo had teleportation abilities like his brother.
Ah, there was just so much he didn’t know about.
‘He must’ve needed to go somewhere.’ he thought to himself while continuing his assignment.
‘Maybe the bathroom.’ A few minutes passed after that, and Leo still hadn’t returned.
He wondered what was keeping him and decided to go see when he saw Alice’s half-opened door.
He heard faint voices and went there, planning to ask Alice if she had seen Leo but by the time he opened the door, he heard Leo ask, “You like…
Kissing?” His eyes widened and he knew right away that he heard something he shouldn’t have.
Leo turned to the door sharply and Alice followed his gaze as well.
‘Oh no, they’ll misunderstand me.’ he thought and bowed his head.
“I’m so sorry.
I wasn’t eavesdropping, I swear.” He felt anxious and regretful.
‘I should’ve just stayed in the room and waited for him.’ he had these thoughts but Leo had little to no reason to worry about him finding out anything.
If he had heard what he shouldn’t have, then he might’ve reacted differently but it looked like he only heard the little bits of it.
And it was probably the last word they said since that was when they noticed his presence and after being so engrossed and loose-guarded.
“It’s fine, Damian.” Alice said.
“We were just talking about random things, so even if you heard us, it doesn’t matter.” She smiled.
“Ah,” he exclaimed, raising his head.
He found Leo contemplating seriously on an issue he was quite oblivious to and wished to stay oblivious to.
“T-then, I’ll go back to my room right away.” He said and turned to leave.
No one stopped him, and he felt that it had really not been a big deal, so he sighed in relief.
But one thing still remained.
The fact that he heard Leo say those words about Alice…
Were they true?
Damian shook his head.
“This is no time to be thinking of things I overheard.
I bet I’m misunderstanding something because I didn’t hear the whole thing.
I should get back and just go to bed.” After he left, Alice turned to Leo and fluttered her eyelashes slowly.
She was getting drowsy.
“Do you think we can pick this up again later?” She asked him.
“I’m already sleepy.” “But we still have to figure this out.” He said but saw the drowsy look on her face.

He sighed feeling completely defeated.
Once she had that look on her face, there was no delaying her sleep time.
“Alice, will you at least refrain from kissing anyone for now?
We don’t know if the kisses are what cause the plant to grow.
And even though it’s maxing out your stats over and over, we don’t know with what price all this is happening.
It could be dangerous.” “I understand what you’re trying to say.” Alice said, walking towards her bed.
“But I don’t think I’ll be able to refuse if someone asks for a kiss and I suddenly want to go ahead with it.
But I tell you what,” she sat on the bed, placed her hand down, and said, “If it happens again, I’ll call you so you can monitor my condition just like I did today.
That way, something unexpected doesn’t arise.
How’s that?” Leo went silent.
Something unexpected ‘could’ arise even with him monitoring her condition because he had no idea what was going on with the plant and her body.
She should just quit kissing for the moment and that would avoid any form of complication.
But it looked like her condition didn’t seem so severe to her that she would let go of her newfound fondness of locking lips.
Seriously, she liked kissing?
Was this one of ‘that’?
He wondered and once again, he sighed.
“I got it.” He said and sat next to her as she lay down, positioning herself comfortably under her sheets.
He brushed her hair softly, his thoughts slowly drifting.
Where did this helpful yet mysterious plant come from?
He wondered.
Plants mostly grow from seeds, so she had to have had a seed in her body for it to…
His eyes widened.
“Alice,” he called, having realized something crucial and Alice opened her lazy eyes.
“Hm?” “This seems like something a demon would do.” He said to her.
“This seed, it was placed in you by that demon you fought with.” “Then this seed was from Lilith?” Alice asked and Leo nodded.
“There’s no better explanation.” He said, feeling a bit anxious.
Not only did Lilith almost create a rift in his relationship with Alice by pointing towards him and saying she shouldn’t trust him, but she also placed an unknown seed in her.
She said it herself.
But because they didn’t know what the seed was and that they had killed Lilith, they thought it was over.
But what if this was what Lilith wanted?
Ah!
He covered his mouth in a stunning realization, with his brain thinking miles afar.
If a gardener plants a seed today but dies afterward, it doesn’t necessarily mean the seed will disappear with its owner.
As long as the nutrients were there to keep it alive, it would germinate and bear fruit.
Lilith was an archdemon, the succubus queen who liked to relax and live luxurious, as the books had said, and she would very much send her underlings out when fighting a battle.
But she came out this time around after messing with Alice’s head, hoping to trap her in her emotional struggle, and fought with her head on.
From the way the fight went, it looked like she did not use her full strength so she lost to Alice and not because Alice was too powerful.
Then was the reason she did not use her full strength because she wanted to plant the seed on Alice?
Or because she wanted to die by Alice’s hand?
Once again, Leo’s eyes widened with a new realization.
It was too easy.
What if they hadn’t killed Lilith?
The real Lilith.
They burned her body, yes, but wasn’t that such an easy task?
What if that had been a fake and the real Lilith had been somewhere watching?
Alice had no problem beating the first demon they came across in the calamity dungeon tower because it was just a weak mage-type demon who was in charge of the operation, but Lilith was an Archdemon with a lot of subordinates.
Now that he was thinking of it, everything seemed so well planned.
But no one knew of his existence.
If they did, if the crooked beings even knew his consciousness was down on Earth, depending on the life force of a girl, they wouldn’t be this relaxed.
So, if it was all planned out perfectly by her and she wasn’t aiming for him, whose existence she was unaware of…
then who was she warning Alice about?
Someone by their side?
Someone mysterious?
As soon as he thought that, a person came to mind.
That masked man who never showed his face.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Attention, when Leo said ‘Was this one of ‘that’?’ he wasn’t referring to Alice’s Demon side.
It’s something completely different that I will write about in due time
