- Chapter 249 - Chapter 249 Nah, I'm too lazy to think
Chapter 249: Nah, I’m too lazy to think Chapter 249: Nah, I’m too lazy to think “Sorry to have kept you waiting,” he spoke up.
“My name is Mark Steiner and…” His eyes fell on Alice, who was still quite perplexed, and he smiled, loving the fact that he was able to surprise her.
“I’ll be one of your trainers.” Alice stared at him, still surprised, and amidst the murmur and chatter in the background, she could only hear her heart thumping.
‘Hm, how strange.’ she thought.
‘Is it because I’m so shocked to see him?’ “Once again, I’m sorry for being late.” Mark said.
“I was supposed to come out with the rest of the trainers but my tracksuit had some issues, so I had to find a bigger size and thus came late.” “Well, as long as you’re here,” Miss Stella spoke up.
“It no longer matters.
Now,” she looked towards the students.
“Shall we get sorted?” The four trainers were all to put the students in different categories.
Those whose stats favored Agility, Strength, magic, and weaponry.
An awakened is capable of possessing all four qualities but there was always one in particular they were good at.
It was the ability that was very compatible with their body, talent, and physique.
So, to play the games, the students would need to group into the categories they were most skilled at.
One student to each group just to make it fair.
Everyone did so effortlessly.
Everyone, except Alice.
She stood in the middle while everyone lined up, putting down their names with each trainer.
Damian had also gone to pick a group.
It looked like he was going for Agility.
He was a healer, so he probably had top health stats, and his agility was good, but how good?
Well, he would mostly sit it out, so he planned.
He couldn’t exactly compete with real B-class awakeneds when he was actually an E-class Awakened.
Alice adjusted her glasses a couple of times as if they would do anything.
And when she was tired of that, she sighed, scratching her face as she found herself in a bit of a dilemma.
“So,” She turned to Leo, who happened to be standing next to her.
“Which group do I fall into?” She has stats that toppled the world’s greatest and were far from ordinary.
So, she could basically fall into any category but Leo knew that wasn’t what she was trying to find a group that would bring out her brilliance.
“Why don’t you ask yourself which would allow you to lazy around more?” Leo said.
“Nah, I’m too lazy to think, so you tell me.” She waved it aside and he sighed.
“From my understanding, the agility group will have to do the things that require running, jumping, and the likes.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
The strength group will compete in tug of war, probably chicken fights included and arm wrestles, if that’s included.” “Wow, sounds interesting.” She commented.
“The weaponry group should be affiliated with archery, fencing, and stuff like that.” “I’m gonna bet fifty bucks that Clarissa will join that group, keh.” She smirked.
“Anyway, for the magic group, there should be activities like levitation, I think.
I don’t understand that concept in sports so we’ll just see.” He explained and Alice nodded, one hand folded and her other hand holding her chin as she sank into deep thoughts.
Leo could tell she was thinking seriously with how her forehead was seriously creased in.
It was funny but he was glad she was seriously contemplating it and not actually thinking of lazying around as he assumed.
‘Let me see what she’s thinking about.’ He decided to look into her thoughts.
‘I have to choose one that will allow me to sit out after my turn, so I can sit by the side and eat as much as I want.
What should I choose?’ Leo palmed his face, his hand trembling and clenching his teeth in disappointment.
How was it that she always managed to prove him wrong in the worst possible way?
He felt so ashamed.
‘You know what?
Just forget it.’ He sighed and stared at her, nodding to herself at her ‘brilliant’ plan.
‘I’m the one giving her too much credit.
I should try to keep my expectations at a minimum.’ “Okay, I got it.” She pounded her fist on her palm.
“I know what to choose.” Leo rolled his eyes.
There was no need for all that show.
If she wanted to lazy around and sit out the right thing, then she could go for the most beneficial option.
“Just go for Mark’s group.
I’m sure he’ll let you sit it out.
He’ll let you do whatever you want to do, I’m sure of it.” “No, no.
I don’t want people to think he’s partial.” She said and started heading for the weaponry group.
“I’ll go to the one place where I can’t be pampered.
And since the trainer hates my guts, I bet I’ll get benched as soon as I make a ‘slight’ mistake, Hehe.” Leo stopped walking and watched her in surprise.
Ah, that was pretty smart.
She came up with that?
‘Well, I guess all that forehead creasing wasn’t for nothing.’ Mark looked up and watched them heading for another group.
He had hoped Alice would be in his group, but he did not put up his hopes.
After all, Alice was lazy and would not want to get busy.
‘Still so silly.’ he thought feeling a little amused.
And then he remembered how he kissed her the previous night.
He paused and closed his eyes.
‘I should apologize.’ Even if Alice had agreed to his simple request, he had to admit that he was a bit unreasonable to have asked for a kiss because he felt jealous.
Once again, he wanted to remind himself that Leo was an entity that was not human, and he could even equate him to a piece of her since he used to reside in her mind before he took form.
Even if she was dependent on him to sleep peacefully, even if she cuddled him at night and he was by her side at all times, he still wasn’t human.
And at the end of the day, Alice would most definitely end up with a human to start a family with.
His chances of being her significant other were thinner than a thread.
At least, that was what he told himself to keep his jealousy out of his head and allow him to entertain only reasonable thoughts.
“Um, Mister, it’s my turn,” the cute girl in front of him said with a little blush on her cheek as she tilted her head, tucking her hair behind her ear.
“Of course, write your name, and classes here.” He said and she wrote her name down.
Honestly, he didn’t want to judge the abilities of the students signing up with him just because they were female and looked weak, because he knew someone who was just like that but was far stronger than anyone could imagine, but…
He had a feeling most of them weren’t in the category they claimed they were in.
At least, not in strength, they weren’t.
