Chapter 255: Nah!
Impossible Chapter 255: Nah!
Impossible “Hey, what’s with that guilty attitude?” Alice asked and he raised his head.
“It’s not a big deal, and it’s not your fault, so don’t act like I’m blaming you for anything.
I just…
Got curious.” The half-body in her arms, she did not know who it belonged to.
It was dark, his face was ragged and burnt at one side.
His lips were shafted as if he had been starved of water for weeks.
He had suffered a big loss even if he had won the battle he fought.
He was brave and at the same time, regretful that he could not prove himself to the one he wanted to prove himself to.
Who was it?
Who was that guy and who did he want to prove himself to?
A lover?
No, the kind of recognition he needed was not that at all.
It felt like he was looking for recognition from his father or something like that.
“Well, it’ll all come into play sometime soon.
He looked pretty close to me so maybe I haven’t seen him yet.” “But Alice,” Leo placed his hand on her shoulder.
“You don’t have memories of your previous life unless you see the person or he does anything that makes you recall.
So, that means…
He’s here, whoever that is.” Alice went silent.
Ah, now that complicated matters.
How was she supposed to know who it was?
If they were here then they survived long enough to the end of the second calamity.
But no matter what she did, she wouldn’t be able to recognize him because of that burnt mark on his face and the ragged voice like he had been parched for centuries.
‘I called him brother.’ She thought, swirling her hair in her index finger.
‘It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re my blood brother, and I know I was the only child of my mother, so that’s out of the question.
Then,’ she darted her eyes towards the sky.
‘…who could it be?’ Someone with brown hair and a strong will for recognition.
He looked stubborn too.
Just who could it be?

There were over a hundred in the field with brown hair, so where could she start from?
Then, a shadow fell on her and she raised her gaze to find Philip standing in front of her with his arms folded.
“Young lady, I think it’s time for you to stop leisuring around.” He said and Alice’s eyes fell on his brown hair that slowly and softly moved with the wind.
A person with brown hair, stubbornness, and a strong desire for recognition.
Didn’t he fit the bill too well?
‘I’m sure of the first two, but I can’t tell if he has such a strong desire for recognition.
I mean, I hardly know the guy.’ She thought, observing him with an absent mind.
So, the words he said did not reach her at all.
For a moment, she tried to weigh the possibility but she shook her head, knowing there was no way she could get along with such an entitled brat.
So, she shrugged and exclaimed nonchalantly, “Nah!
Impossible.” Philip frowned feeling irked.
“What did you say?” He asked, his eyes slowly blazing, and Alice looked at him, wondering what was pushing his button all of a sudden.
“Hey, your face looks red-mph!” Leo covered her mouth with his and said, “Sorry, she was a bit absent-minded.
We’ll pick our weapons now.” He said to Philip who stormed off, trying to retain his sanity.
He couldn’t afford to go mad with her childish behavior.
It would be his loss.
“Alice, he may be like this now but in the past, the world wasn’t as peaceful as this point.” Leo said to her.
“People were dying and monsters were prevailing.
No one had time to act like entitled brats.
So, he might’ve been different in the past.” “Wait,” she turned her head to him.
“You don’t mean to say that he and I could get close, do you?” Leo shrugged.
“Anything was possible in a world where survival was the driving force.
You could team up with your enemy for the moment and you could get close to even the most annoying person on Earth just because you all wanted to survive.
It might’ve been no different in his case.” He explained and Alice turned her gaze to him.
She watched him and how he acted so unprioritized.
Then, the image of his face slightly overlapped with the one in her memory.
His pleading and begging face as he cried a river over the pain of his heart rather than that of his body.
He probably didn’t feel the pain in his body anymore.
All that mattered was his heart.
“Gosh, it happened again.” She said, touching her chest and listening to her heavy heartbeat.
“I don’t want to think about it but…” She looked up at him.
“If he had been the one, I don’t know what to say.” “Well, it’s alright.” Leo dropped his hands on her shoulders.
“Let’s just be thankful the situations did not play out as they did in your previous life.
So, maybe he doesn’t hold much resentment in his heart this time around.” As soon as he thought that, his eyebrows furrowed as he had an inkling feeling.
He glanced over at the principal’s office briefly and looked away as soon as he could so it wouldn’t look like he was keeping an eye on the people watching them from up there.
The thought he had was, ‘What if he was indeed the one in her memories and the person he was trying so hard to prove himself to was Adolf?’ Adolf would’ve been long gone by then.
“Okay, so these equipment and weapons are all lethal.
So, refrain from using them on each other.” Philip announced.
“If you end up killing your peer,” his eyes grew dark, “…even if it’s by accident, you’ll have to pay with your life.
Is that clear?” The students gulped and agreed.
This way, he was sure they wouldn’t mishandle the weapons.
Human life was precious so they had to be very careful and point at the target alone, not at their fellows.
Philip rubbed his neck.
Michael had taken off the collar so he was back to his old self.
He felt so weak for the period the collar was around his neck and that made him miserable.
He was glad it was gone now.
He just had to refrain from doing anything that could cause them to put the collar back around his neck.
He glanced back at Alice and grimaced at her, sending glares of death towards her.
She scratched her ear, feeling his death glare even if she backed him.
He just needed to avoid getting caught up in her indifference.
That way, he wouldn’t blow up unexpectedly.
Yes, that was it.
So…
Why in the hell was she pissing him off by acting weak?!
