- Chapter 257 - Chapter 257 Bad posture will only make you ache later
Chapter 257: Bad posture will only make you ache later Chapter 257: Bad posture will only make you ache later Surprisingly, Clarissa agreed right away.
Well, one could say she wanted to show off her skills with this simple demonstration and have Alice know her place.
She stood her ground, taking one of the bows and setting her arrow.
Alice watched her keenly, using her third eye to observe how she used her energy flow to control the force of her arrow to go in the direction she wanted.
It looked pretty easy.
The bow and arrow were suddenly cloaked with Clarissa’s ice-chilling white aura.
The arrow became even more sturdy and more dangerous to approach, so as she got ready to release, aiming for her target, she made sure to intimidate her competitors, including Alice.
Clarissa released her fingers, and her arrow went flying straight toward the bullseye, leaving a gush of chilly wind on its tail.
“Bullseye!” Someone yelled and they clapped at Clarissa’s performance.
It was awesome and an eye-opener.
The other teams who were far off sensed the release of energy and watched.
They started murmuring about how extraordinary Clarissa was.
“Do you think they’re having a face-off?
Revenge for what happened in the hallway?” Mark heard this and turned to the students talking.
“What happened in the hallway?” They flinched, feeling they had spoken too much.
“I’m quite interested, and not for any other reason.” “Well, it happened recently.
Clarissa shot her arrows in the hallway but I heard Alice deflected it quite easily and didn’t fight back.
So, now our thoughts are Clarissa wants to show her dominance with her perfect shots.” Mark looked up.
Such a thing happened?
Then school for Alice wasn’t as boring as he thought it would be.
At least, she was having fun.
‘For her not to fight back, she might either think highly of the girl called Clarissa or she just had no reason to.’ Mark thought, but it inevitably caught his attention.
They watched.
Everyone did.
They wanted to see if Alice would mess up her chance to prove herself after Clarissa had pulled such a perfect shot.
But they couldn’t think too highly of her because she had flunked the first try and admitted that it was her first time picking up a bow and arrow.
“If she can’t use it, why pick it in the first place?” Some students murmured behind her.
“You know how she likes to rest her head, acting all tired in class, she must not like to participate in activities.” Some guy added.
“So, she picked the one she wasn’t good at so she could sit out the event but luck isn’t on her side this time.” Alice drew her bow.
‘I get it, you twerps.

I can’t sit it out and watch, so I guess I’ll have to hurry and finish this quickly so I don’t have to stand for too long.’ She took in a deep breath but stopped drawing the arrow to clean her eyes underneath her glasses.
“If you stop pulling mid-way, you lose a point.” Clarissa said to her and she looked at her.
“But I don’t think that rule applies this time around since we aren’t exactly playing by the rules.” Alice frowned.
Who asked for a lecture from her?
Her eyes were itchy so she wanted to scratch it.
‘I’ve been wearing these glasses for a while now but they give me discomfort sometimes.’ She thought and then Leo walked towards her.
She was facing the target so there was no one in their direction.
“Hold on,” he said and took off her glasses while shielding her front from anyone who could see her face and recognize her.
Leo helped her clean her eyes with and handkerchief while Philip frowned bitterly that they were having another P.D.A.
session when all eyes were on them.
But for some reason, he couldn’t even stop them.
Was it because of the terrifying display they made when fighting a while back?
It was so terrifying that he, who had been reduced to a normal human thanks to the collar, could not move his feet.
He was sweating and dreading their presence all from one punch.
“Does it feel better?” Leo asked her and she nodded.
“Yeah, thanks.” He placed her glasses back on and raised his gaze to meet Philip who flinched for some reason.
Then, he glanced around.
“Hey, don’t stand there any longer, I’m going to make my shot.” Alice said to him and he nodded.
“Will you really do it?” He asked her and she nodded.
“If it’ll get them to leave me alone then I guess I have no choice.” He stepped aside and she pulled the strings again.
Leo noticed her stance was beyond terrible so he helped her out a bit.
He placed his hand on her back, straightening her back.
“What are you…?” She saw the look in his eyes and kept quiet at once.
She looked away from him and allowed him to do what he was doing.
He slid his hand down to her waist and made sure she wasn’t bending over.
“Bad posture will only come to make you ache later.” He said as he stepped back after he was done and she pouted.
“When did you become an instructor?” She asked.
“How do you even know any of this?” “Well, I picked up a few books.” He said, bringing his fingers to her chin and lifting her gaze to focus on her target.
“You’re such a nerd.” “I’ll take that as a compliment.” He said and smiled.
“Now, you’re stiff so relax a bit.
Don’t be so uptight.
Take a few breaths and pretend you’re on your bed but without moving a muscle from how you are right now.” Philip tapped his fingers on his folded arms.
“I think you’d be better off an instructor than a lackey.” He exclaimed and Leo shot him a glare, forcing him to shut up.
Alice let out a few breaths and then relaxed her nerves.
She started circulating her energy, making sure to envelop the bow and arrow with her aura.
Piece of cake, right?
She was more than capable.
She just needed to show them that she could do anything if she set her heart to it.
Her determination this time was way more than the cloud of confidence that clouded her head a few minutes ago.
The surge of energy leaving her and cloakinh the bow and arrow was blue and it made the spectators marvel.
It was beautiful and concise.
A stable sense.
Alice opened her eyes and then aimed for the target, her eyes piercing through it like that of an eagle.
“Now,” Leo softly said, “Release.” Alice released the arrow and with that heavy force that surged out of her through her fingertips, the arrow shot at 0.1 speed, hitting the target at the same moment she had released it.
No one could follow the arrow with their eyes.
No one saw the trajectory, but they did see the finished product.
And then, in a second, the target board that was trying hard to contain the energy-surging arrow blew into pieces, and the arrow passed through it.
Alice’s arrow did not just hit the target; it went right through it and found its way into the forest at the back of the school, causing a little explosion.
Slowly, Alice dropped her hand and let out a satisfied ‘huff’ with her visible breath escaping the corners of her mouth.
“So,” she turned to Philip whose eyes were wide in disbelief.
“Can I go sit now?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Yup, that’s Alice.
Amazing as always
