- Chapter 267 - Chapter 267 You don't have to worry about my bullies, Alice
Chapter 267: You don’t have to worry about my bullies, Alice Chapter 267: You don’t have to worry about my bullies, Alice “I’m serious,” Alice said, a certain murderous intent leaking out of her eyes.
“I’ll kill those bastards for you.
So, just call a name or better still, point them out.
I will rip them to shreds.” Alice looked scary.
But why did it make his heart thump even more loudly in joy?
‘Where have you been all my life?’ Nicholas wondered as he clenched his fists with his eyes growing teary.
‘Why are you late?’ If she had been there, would the torture have ended sooner?
Would he have been able to escape that hell in one piece before his heart and mind were torn to shreds?
Yes, maybe all that would’ve happened but then what?
He would’ve remained the nobody he was.
Weak and miserable.
He would return home and listen to his mother’s abuse, listen to her rant and cuss at him all night long.
He would’ve remained in a deeper pit.
So, maybe it was for the better that she was too late.
Ever since he awakened, his mother had gotten much ‘saner’ and she did not throw abuses at him.
She went around bragging about her son and how he was going to help to save humanity.
She was proud.
If Alice had come to his rescue, he would’ve never gotten any of this.
Still, he was glad.
Glad that she was willing to help someone like him.
Tears flowed down his cheeks and he cried.
All he ever wanted was someone to stand by his side and pick together his shattered heart.
And if there was someone willing to, then it was alright.
“Thank you.” He said and Alice snapped out of her murder mode.
“Oh no, why are you crying?
Did I scare you?” She frantically tried to help him but he laughed.
“No, no.” He said.
“It’s not because of you.
I’m just…
Ecstatic.” He said and laughed again.

Alice was confused.
What was he ecstatic about?
Was he lying?
No, he wasn’t.
Then?
She glanced at Leo who shook his head.
She could never understand it.
“You don’t have to worry about my bullies, Alice.” He said, his gaze slowly and sadly lowering down to his hands.
“I already got rid of them.” A little silence followed after his confession, and he wondered if she would judge him, but she didn’t.
Instead, she smiled and said, “That’s much better.” Alice was like a mystery to him.
He could never tell what she was thinking or what her next words would be.
They all took him by surprise.
“In that case, let’s move on from the bad memories, right?” She wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Since they’re gone, let’s bury the bad memories along with em.
It’s gone and gone for good.” She said and though he was surprised that she suddenly swung her arms around him, he smiled.
“Yes,” he answered.
“Now, let’s show Leo your drawings.
He will love them.” Leo watched them.
Alice’s ability to switch her emotions at any given time and at the snap of a finger was impressive.
Very impressive.
Her mental fortitude seemed to be stronger than even the highest-level mage type awakened.
‘Guess her intelligence stats didn’t go to waste.’ he thought.
“But,” Nicholas called out.
“Do you two really have no intentions of dating?” He asked, bringing back that topic.
“You look really good together.” “And I guess that’s why we walk around together.” Leo muttered, referring to them looking good together, even though that wasn’t the initial reason why they were walking around together.
He already knew what Alice would say.
“It’s bullshit.
Why would I need to date anyone?” She asked.
“I have no intentions to get tied to a guy whatsoever.” ‘In other words,’ Leo interpreted in his mind.
‘She would rather go around kissing different guys than get stuck to one.’ He laughed at his thoughts.
He knew that wasn’t what she meant but he couldn’t help but think that way after what she said the previous night.
Alice’s words were heavy on Nicholas’s heart, but he did not dwell too much on it.
He never pictured anything with Alice, to begin with.
He was just glad that he was able to get acquainted with his muse.
And there was one more thing he learned about Alice.
She had a crude tongue.
It was kind of cool and he would make sure to add this bit of detail to his next story of her.
She was dangerous and no damsel in distress.
She was neither a fairy nor a demon.
She was…
Alice.
Leo finally got to see the drawings and just like Alice, he was captivated.
The strokes, both hard and soft were so captivating.
“Can you draw me next?” Leo suddenly asked, taking Nicholas aback.
“Wh-what?” “I believe if it’s you, you’ll be able to capture my brilliance just as much with just a few strokes.” He gave Nicholas a lot of credit and that was because he loved what he saw.
He was somewhat of a god, so things that elevated him seemed to get him excited.
“That’s actually a nice idea,” Alice said.
“And while you’re at it, can you draw us both on one page?” She asked.
“That, isn’t too much to ask, is it?” “W-well, it’s not but…” He shyly looked away.
“I can’t just draw because you ask me to.
I have to feel it in my heart.
The passion to capture you in my book needs to burn in me.
If it doesn’t, then…” He shook his head.
“I’m afraid your brilliance will be cut in half.” They went silent and Nicholas hoped it didn’t offend them.
Alice shrugged and so did Leo.
“Well, there’s no helping it.” Leo said.
“What can we do to ignite the fire?” “W-well, I’m not sure.” “Let’s just forget it.” Alice said.
“Let’s not impose anything.
Once he feels it, he’ll draw it.
Am I right?” Nicholas nodded.
“Then, that’s fine by me.” “Thank you.” Alice wanted to view the drawings a bit more when Clarissa called out to her from the foot of the benches.
“Hey,” she called and Alice looked down.
“Did you two fight while I was busy?” Leo asked her but she rolled her eyes.
“More like when you were flirting.” She got up from the bench she was sitting on and jumped, landing right next to Clarissa.
“Don’t worry about it.
I’ll handle it.” She said to Leo and turned to Clarissa who was fuming.
“Do you have something to say to me?” Alice asked.
