- Chapter 273 - Chapter 273 You have yourself to blame
Chapter 273: You have yourself to blame Chapter 273: You have yourself to blame Alice watched him.
Was he trying to play word games with her?
Well, if he could keep to his words and make them suffer then it was okay with her.
There was nothing else to be done, but she would prefer if they were thrown into a gate unarmed and torn to shreds by vicious monsters.
“And that’s not all,” he added, reaching his hand out to take hers in his.
“Because I have caused you to suffer with my negligence, I would like to spend the rest of my life atoning for my sins by serving you however you wish.
So, do whatever you want with me.” Alice looked at him, her eyes squinting in disdain.
“In that case,” she took her hand out of his grip and slapped him, but her slap did not go through for some reason.
There was something like a transparent yellow barrier stopping her hand just a few inches from his skin.
It had these hexagon shapes all around and it only covered his face.
It must’ve been activated after her attack came in.
Sweat rolled down the corner of Noah’s face as he was struck by surprise.
“Ah, my protection device kicked in.” He said, obviously giving an excuse but Alice did not care.
She planned to slap him with a little bit of her strength so she wouldn’t end up killing him or hurting his face too much but since it had come to this.
“You have yourself to blame.” Alice said, and before he could understand what she meant, she increased the force in her arm, breaking the yellow barrier to his shock, and his face met her palm.
“Leo,” Leo caught Noah before he crashed into the wall.
Alice twisted her wrist and watched as Noah cackled with a swollen cheek.
“Impressive, Miss Alice.
Very…” he coughed and his nose bled.
“…impressive.” He wiped the blood and she sighed.
“Whatever.” She hoped he would at least pass out but it looked like he was stronger than she thought.
Well, he was nearly on par with Adolf, she could see.
Alice went back to sit next to Adolf.
“Gramps, did I act too much?” She asked, but even though he was taken aback, he shook his head, stroked her head, and said, “It’s alright, Alice.
It’s good to let out your resentment once in a while.” “Alright then.” She said, stretching her legs and smiling.
“I feel better now.” Noah stood to his feet, dusting his shoulders and his shirt.
His face throbbed.
“I can’t remember the last time I got slapped by a girl.” He said.
“I can’t remember ever getting slapped by a girl either.” “Then lucky you.” Alice rolled her eyes.
That felt like a cheesy line from a classic rom-com.

“Now that that’s settled, will you finally tell me what you want to say to me?” “I don’t think that matters anymore.” Noah said, going to sit down.
Alice looked at his swollen face.
Was he really going to leave it like that?
She hated that he was the leader of the agency and that was why she was so pissed.
He did not act haughty or arrogant either, so he got a pass, but that little resentment she felt needed to be relieved somehow, and that was why she slapped him.
Still, he had a handsome face.
He looked delicate.
Maybe she shouldn’t have hit so hard.
He was the one who had an emergency protection device.
If not, she did not plan to hit him so hard for the sake of his handsome face.
“Will you leave your face like that?” Alice asked, going off-topic.
It came as a surprise that she would care for the dance she ruined with her own hand.
“Haha, are you worried about me now?” “I only care for your handsome face and not you as a person.” Alice blurted out her thoughts.
“So, heal it already.” “Haha, that’s nice.
But I don’t have a way to heal it so I’ll wait until my fast healing mechanism kicks in.” He said quite shamelessly at that and she gritted her teeth.
That won’t do.
She got up from where she was sitting and went to the principal’s drawer.
She opened it, put her hand in, and took out a healing potion from her ring.
But to them, she picked it from the drawer.
“Here,” she tossed it to him.
“Use it however you like.” Noah caught it and looked at it.
“What is it?” He asked but she did not explain.
He opened it and realized that it was a healing potion.
“Oh my!
Is this the famous whip and carrot treatment?” “Don’t get it twisted.” Alice said, feeling a little cringe.
“Like I said, I don’t want to look at you with that swollen face.” “Because you like my handsome face, you got it.” He looked excited about that fact and drank the potion.
“I’ll make sure my face is in tip-top shape at all times.” He said as the potion started taking effect and she shook her head in dismay.
“You’re not as handsome as Mark and Devon, so keep your excitement to yourself.” She said and Mark’s heart skipped a beat, accompanied by a flushing face.
“What about me?” Micheal asked, practically speaking for the first time and she turned to him.
She didn’t even realize he was still there.
She looked at him and smirked.
How was she supposed to know if he was as handsome as them when she had never seen his face?
But he said he had a scar, so he probably wanted to be praised despite what he looked like.
“Yeah, and you’re probably not as handsome as Micheal either.” She said and that certainly got Michela satisfied.
She could feel him beaming a smile even if she couldn’t see it.
But it was odd that he had been quiet for so long.
Maybe he just never had anything to say so he kept quiet.
Even Leo stayed quiet.
“The masked guy?” Noah asked, bringing her attention back to him.
“You’ve seen his face before?” “That’s none of your business.” Alice folded her arms.
Miss Stella sighed.
“I believe now that we’re all in good spirits, let’s start talking about what really brought us all here together, shall we?” They had wasted too much time but at least with this, she got to know Alice a little more better.
“Yes, you’re right.” Adolf said and turned to Clarissa on the floor.
“About the suspicious man…” “Hold on,” Alice interrupted them and then walked up to Clarissa.
She grabbed Clarissa’s arms and lifted her to her feet.
Clarissa felt down.
So down that her eyes had turned dark and her face had lost its color.
“Clarissa,” Alice called but Clarissa did not say a word.
Her mind was drained.
“If you don’t snap out of it, I’m going to throw you out the window.” Clarissa’s eyes widened, and she looked up at Alice, smiling at her.
“You…
You’re so mean.” She said, her eyes growing teary and Alice hugged her, pressing her head on her shoulder.
“Yeah, I know.” She said.
“I get that a lot.” Clarissa cried.
