- Chapter 277 - Chapter 277 Hm, you're quite perceptive
Chapter 277: Hm, you’re quite perceptive Chapter 277: Hm, you’re quite perceptive “I previously mentioned that the council wants to gather once more and determine your level, as they are not convinced that you are what you say you are.” Adolf said and Alice nodded.
“They’re still so stubborn.” “Yes.
And that is why we shall schedule a council meeting soon.
But the time and date shall be decided by you.
So, what do you say?” He asked and Alice paused.
“Wait, it’s going to be decided by me?
Why me?” “It’s because I do not want to inconvenience you and the new life you’ve begun to live.” Adolf said, dropping his hand on her head to patt her.
“If you pick a date and time, I’ll do my best to arrange it all.” “Well, as of now, we’re busy with the sports event stuff.” She said but realized something.
“Oh, if I attend the council meeting sooner then does that mean I’ll be allowed to road dungeons soon?” “Hm, I believe so.
Once the council sees that you’re better fighting alone than with a team, and you’re able to convince them that you don’t need to join a guild, I believe you’ll be able to start raiding dungeons right away.” He explained and her eyes glimmered.
“But is it urgent?
Do you have a reason for wanting to go into a gate soon?” “Well,” Alice’s mouth began to water, but she cleaned it while avoiding their gaze.
Leo promised her he would prepare monster meat for her the next time they caught monsters.
But since there weren’t any dangerous gate breaks recently, her attention isn’t needed anywhere.
So, she can only get monsters if she goes into the gate herself.
And then she would get her meat.
Just thinking about it made her salivate.
“Alice,” Leo called her name and she snapped out of it.
“Oh, sorry.” He decided to do the talking from there.
“We appreciate your consideration.” He began.
“But for now, I believe the peace should last a little longer.
If it’s alright with you, please schedule the council meeting for the week after the sports event week.
I believe by then, she will be fully ready to face the members of the association, as well as…” His eyes traveled to Noah.
“…take any test they prepare for her.” “Hm, you’re quite perceptive.” Noah said with a sly grin spreading across his cheeks.
“Did you already figure it out?
You’re so smart.” “Don’t give me so much credit.” Leo said, shaking his head.
“But you might want to shut out the excitement from your eyes when staring at your ‘opponent’.” He said, his eyes darting away from him towards Alice and slowly back to him.
“Ah, but even that won’t help you,” *Since your mind is wide open.* Noah’s eyes widened and he immediately got out of his chair, taking a few feet back in defense.
“You…” “What’s wrong?” Adolf asked, and Noah looked at Leo, who just stared at him, doing nothing.
He was sure of it.

Leo did not move his lips when he said those last words.
Then, did that mean that he could speak in people’s minds?
And if he could do that, then didn’t that mean he could read minds as well?
‘Since your mind is wide open.’ Ah, that had to mean he could read minds.
So, he read his thoughts and knew he would be fighting Alice so she could prove herself to the council.
“Interesting.
You’re both very interesting.” He said.
“With this guy by your side, I’m very sure you have nothing to worry about, Miss Alice.” Alice looked at him weirdly and then turned to Leo who rolled his eyes away.
It made her realize that he had done something.
“Hm, I agree with Leo’s arrangement.” She agreed, nevertheless.
“But I do want to know something, just so I don’t get hit by surprise by that mustache man or the Chinese guy that kept looking for a way to bring me down.” “Go right ahead, dear.
What is it?” Adolf asked in a caring manner and she nodded.
“Am I going to be asked a bunch of questions again?” She asked but Adolf went silent.
“I do not know what those guys have in mind but I am certain that after the stunt you pulled with the eclipse dragon, there will be a lot of questions waiting for you.
Same as the press conference.” He answered.
“But if you feel uncomfortable and don’t want to answer them, feel free to ignore them.
There is nothing they can do to you and I will be right behind you.” “Wow, that’s pretty reassuring.” She laughed softly.
“Then, I don’t have anything else to be worried about.
I’m in great hands, right?” Adolf nodded but the one thing he hadn’t said to her was concerning the person sitting in front of them.
Noah would’ve assumed that Leo told Alice all he found out as she was his master and he could speak in people’s minds, but seeing that Alice asked no further questions, he began to question.
‘Did I just imagine it?’ He thought, holding his head.
‘No, I’m sure I heard his voice in my head.
Or was it an illusion?
Is this guy an illusion user as well?
I’m confused, but I can’t let it show.’ he raised his head, acting composed.
‘After all, it might be what he wants.’ He glanced at Leo whose eyes were once again closed.
It looked like he didn’t care for whatever was going on anymore.
“Alice,” Adolf called, gently stroking her hair.
“Remember the people from the council wanted to see proof back then and even now that you are as powerful as you say you are,” “Uh, yeah.
What about it?” “They will ask you to fight a one-on-one with someone they choose.” He said.
“Is that okay with you?” “Well, yeah.
That’s fine.” She agreed so simply.
“I mean, I’d like to fight with anyone if they can hold their grounds against me for five minutes.
But is there really anyone who can rival me in that regard, Gramps?” Noah felt insulted right away but no matter how he looked at it, her question was justified.
Her stats were beyond that of even S-class, and SS-class would only be a little bit different, yet they were still far off from her.
He wanted to stay confident that he could hold his ground against her, who was inexperienced when it came to a one-on-one battle with a human, for an hour, but after meeting her and even feeling her pulse, he discovered that the energy flow through veins was far beyond what he could handle.
He had felt her pulse when he took her hand to kiss it.
But even if she were that powerful and his chances of winning were as that of a threat holding a bridge together, he still wanted to fight her.
It made him even more excited just thinking about it.
He watched as she spoke to the Chairman but their words were muted.
Rather, his ear was blocked by the sound of his heavy heartbeat.
“Miss Alice,” he called.
“Do you know that…” his heart wouldn’t stop pounding in excitement.
“…your opponent is going to be me?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Hm, it wouldn’t matter either way, I guess
