- Chapter 280 - Chapter 280 Then, let me keep hating you
Chapter 280: Then, let me keep hating you Chapter 280: Then, let me keep hating you “So, what is it?” Alice asked.
“What do you want to say to me this time?” Clarissa clenched her fists.
“So, you’ve gone into dungeons before.” She said.
“I could get that much from the conversation you guys were having.
And you seem to be very powerful as well.” “Yes,” Alice placed her hand on her waist.
“So, is there anything I can help you with?
Or is there anything you want to ask of me?” “Stop acting all cocky.” Clarissa suddenly yelled and Alice blinked, taken aback.
When on earth did she act cocky?
She just wanted to get things over with so she could meet up with Mark and then go out to eat.
It had been three hours since the last time she had a ‘snack’ and her stomach was already silently rumbling.
“Just because you’re very powerful and you’ve killed monsters…
Is that why you’re so cocky?” Her fists trembled and she gritted her teeth.
“Because nothing and no one can get in your way.” “Wait, hold on.” Alice placed her hand on her face, rubbed it, and then looked at Clarissa in exhaustion.
“I don’t really know where you’re getting at with this but I don’t think any of that will give me a reason to act cocky.
I mean, will I be fully fed if I act cocky?
Will it satisfy my hunger?
No, it won’t.
So, I have no use for that.
Maybe it’s the way you perceive me and the way I act but I assure you, it’s all far from cocky.
I’m just being me, okay?” “Liar!” Clarissa yelled at her.
“I saw how you acted in there.
You felt so high and mighty because you’ve got the chairman wrapped around your fingers.
I don’t fully understand the situation you grew up in but I don’t think it’s right to slap the leader of the agency like that.
It’s not like he gave personal orders to make your lives a living hell or anything.” Alice sighed, turning her head aside and gazing at the floor.
The old Clarissa was back, it seemed.
“Clarissa, I can do whatever I want.” Alice declared.
“And if anyone has a problem with it,” she dropped her hand on Clarissa’s shoulder.
“They’ll just have to beat me to set me straight.
But so far…” She took her hand off and walked past her.
“There has been no one to beat me.” Clarissa turned around and watched her walking away.

“Then, let me keep hating you.” She suddenly said and Alice paused.
“What?” “I want to keep hating you.” Alice turned to her to see the resolve boldly written on her face.
“I want to beat you but I don’t think I can do it if I don’t have something burning in me.
So, let me keep hating you, and only then will I get stronger.
Strong enough to beat you.” “Are you for real?” Alice asked but her expression said it all.
This situation was not different from a pickle jar.
“You can just aspire to be like me.
That oughta do it.” “No, I don’t want to be like you.” Clarissa said.
“How can I when I don’t know anything about you?
So, instead, I want to be stronger than you.” “It’s not as easy as you think.” Alice said, her eyes glazing in laziness.
“But I guess it’s fine.” She turned around and yawned.
“Do whatever you want, Clarissa.
Hate me, or love me, it’s your choice.
But at the end of the day, just don’t let any of that stop you from taking good care of yourself.” She waved as she walked away and Clarissa yelled back at her.
“That’s none of your business.
I will take care of my own problems.
You just stay where I can see you.
So, don’t you dare run!” Alice smiled as she walked away.
‘Don’t you dare run?
That’s supposed to be my line.’ Of course, Clarissa had no idea that with one wrong move, she could be swallowed up by Alice’s endless potential.
Alice made her way down the stairs with Leo, keeping a little distance while checking a few things on his system tablet.
So, Alice was ahead of him and she got to the foot of the stairs first, where she found Michael resting his back on the wall, waiting for her.
“Micheal, you…” Her words were cut short when he suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her into his tight embrace.
“What…
What’s this?” Alice asked, perplexed, but he wrapped one arm around her waist, and the other held her back while burying his head on her shoulder.
“I missed you, dear Alice.” He said, sinking into the embrace.
“What do you mean you’ve missed me?
We’ve been seeing each other ever since this morning.” She explained.
“Yes, but I could only watch you from afar.” He said, snuggled closer and squeezing his arms tighter.
“I wanted to hold you, hold your hand at least, and ask you what you had to eat.
I wanted to hear you tell me how you’ve been doing and…” “Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on.” Alice said, interrupting him.
If she could push him away, she would, but she wasn’t in a favorable position.
“When did you become so chummy?” She asked and he wondered as well.
“I…
Have no idea.” He said.
“Maybe I felt jealous that you spent your time with everyone else besides me and it got to me.” “Jealous?” She asked, confused.
Since when was Micheal one to get jealous?
Well, he did seem off in the head plenty of times and his way of thinking was completely different from the normal human.
“I want to spend time with you.
I want to tease you till you get so mad that you’d want to hit me.
Punish me.” She could hear his exasperated breath and figured out it was Micheal alright.
That perverted masochist thinking belonged to him alone.
He just got a little bit clingy.
“So, you want to spend time with me?” She asked and he nodded like a little kid.
“Raise your head first.
Even though I can’t see your face, I want to at least have you in view.
I feel like I’m talking to the wall.” Micheal reluctantly raised his head and she stared at his mask.
That white faceless mask that made it difficult to tell what he was thinking but at the moment, she could faintly picture a sad look on a face she could not describe.
“You don’t have any friends, do you?” She suddenly asked, reaching for his face and slowly caressing the side of his mask.
“I don’t need anyone but you, Alice.” He said.
“You’re my only friend.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Awn, that’s so sweet.
