Chapter 288: Did you put him on the treadmill?
Alice put on a blue sports bra and a pair of shorts.
Damian didn’t seem comfortable seeing her belly before but she wasn’t sure there was anything else she would want to wear to work out at the training room.
The last time, she also wore a sports bra and shorts, and she was glad she did; if not, it might’ve been a hindrance to her weight training.
“Hey, Leo, do you think I should wear a jacket on top of this?” She asked, turning her head towards where Leo usually sat while she selected her clothes but he wasn’t there.
Then, she remembered he was very busy and wouldn’t come out throughout that day.
Seeing he wasn’t there, her excitement fell and so did her eyes gazing at the floor.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” She muttered and turned towards the wardrobe.
“Guess it’s just me today.” She stared at the clothes in her wardrobe.
Seriously, it was too quiet and she didn’t like it.
‘Hurry with your work, Leo.
I don’t think I can go a day without listening to you nag at me.’ she thought and decided to pick up a jacket.
She went to the training room and found Damian running on the treadmill.
He was already sweating.
His adorable face glistened with sweat as he huffed, his eyes fixed on the timer in front of him as he gave it his all.
As a noncombat awakened, Damian had relatively weak stamina but since he was a healer type, there was no way he would get easily tired from running for a few minutes.
‘His legs are moving very fast so I can guess this speed is his limit.’ She thought and got closer.
Mark noticed Alice and his face lit up.
“Alice, you’re here.” He said and Alice nodded.
Damian did not look away from the timer.
He was scared that if he looked toward Alice, he would be distracted, his speed would reduce, and he would seriously hurt himself.
“Yeah,” she smiled.
“Damian seems to be working hard.
Keep it up, Damian.
You’re doing great.” Her words encouraged him but he could tell he was reaching his limits.
Anytime soon, he wouldn’t be able to move his legs as fast as he was currently doing.
“Did you put him on the treadmill?” Alice asked Mark who darted his eyes away.
“He wanted it.
He said he wanted to build his stamina so I recommended the treadmill.” “But you don’t have to make him run at his fastest, do you?

You’re building stamina, not testing for endurance.” She said, according to what she had observed from her previous encounter with the treadmill.
The longer one ran, the longer their endurance.
Though you could say they had a lot of stamina, and that was why they could run for so long, it was more of endurance if they were moving at their full speed.
“Let’s reduce this a bit.” She said and moved to the controls, ready to reduce the speed but Damian stopped her.
“N-no,” he said, amidst gasps.
“I can…
I can keep going.” “Hm, even if.” She started reducing it.
“No one is chasing you, Damian.
So, you don’t have to work so hard.” Damian’s brain shut off for a second after hearing her words and that cost him.
His legs stopped running, and he was thrown into the equipment behind them.
“Damian,” she rushed towards him at once.
“Are you okay?
Did you break anything?” She asked.
He had unfortunately crashed into the shelf of dumbbells so he did not really feel okay.
Alice got him out of there with a single tug.
He heaved, gasping for air and coughing.
“I…
*cough cough* I’m sorry.” He apologized and looked up at her.
His face was wounded and so were his legs.
It looked like he had twisted his ankle as well and pretty badly too.
She could see his bone pointing in the wrong direction, but Damian hadn’t noticed it yet.
If he did, his brain would process the pain right away, and he’d start groaning and even wailing because that looked really bad.
“You’re not okay.” Alice said but he shook his head.
“No, I…
I really am.” He pressed his hand on his chest.
“I’m an Awakened, this little thing won’t do me much harm.” “Damian, you’re a healer, not a brawn or tank, not even a heavy lifter.
And these equipment were all made for Awakeneds, so you’re definitely not okay.” She explained and that made him feel even more miserable.
In a word, he was weak, right?
“Anyway, can you heal yourself?” She asked, her eyes secretly trailing towards his badly twisted ankle.
“I can but it’ll take some time.” He said.
“Healing others isn’t the same as healing myself.” “Then,” she pursed her lips into one thin line and held his face.
“Whatever you do, do not look back, alright?” “Do not look…” He wanted to look back but she held his face.
“I said don’t look, understand?” Damian gulped and nodded.
Alice’s understanding of her healing potions was that they would heal any wounds one had so long as it wasn’t fatal.
And for her elixir, she could regenerate arms and fix broken bones but what if the bones weren’t broken and they were slightly shifted?
Would it work?
It was quite lenient for the elixir to fix and too severe for the potions.
So, she either had to break the bones for real or arrange it to the point that the potions could work their magic.
But…
How?
“Screw it.” She gritted her teeth and reached her hand behind his back, bringing out an elixir where his eyes could not see.
She didn’t care.
She would try.
She couldn’t imagine having to break Damian’s feet just to fix it.
“Where did that come from?” Damian asked, but she opened the bottle and shoved the top into his mouth.
“Don’t ask questions and just drink up.” She said.
Who said a little twisted bone was too lenient for a valuable elixir to fix?
Just look at his face, he was looking all better after just a few gulps, and his leg was fine already.
If anything, the elixir was the best treatment.
Only, it was such an expensive and rare treatment method.
But who cared?
She was using it on someone she cared about.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Yeah, the all doing Elixir I think I need to update Damian’s image soon, you’ll know why in the next chapter
