- Chapter 289 - Chapter 289 Can't hurt to try
Chapter 289: Can’t hurt to try Chapter 289: Can’t hurt to try “Are you sure you’re okay?” Alice asked Damian who looked at his sparkling hands in surprise.
It was as if his entire body had been strengthened and his stats…
His status window opened up in front of him, and his eyes widened as he saw that his stats had increased, and so did his level.
And he was no longer a D-class either.
“This…
This is…” “What’s going on?” Alice asked.
“Did something happen to your system?” “Alice,” Damian turned to her, his eyes tearing up.
“What did you feed me?” “Hey, calm down.
It wasn’t anything bad, I promise.
Please, don’t cry.” She said.
“Does it hurt anywhere?” She looked at the elixir and scratched her head.
“I’m certain I don’t own any poison that sparkles.
Wait, I don’t own any poison at all.” “It’s not that.” he cleaned this eye with his arm.
“It wasn’t anything bad.
It was the best.
I suddenly became an A-class.
Is this…
Is this a dream?” Alice went silent.
What did he say?
She looked at the elixir bottle in her hand.
How did that happen?
This was one of those times she would really appreciate Leo’s explanations.
How was she supposed to understand what happened just now?
“Alice, is that an Elixir?” Mark asked and she nodded.
“It’s a very valuable item that doesn’t even come up in the market.
It has incredible healing properties and it can even bring a dying person back to life.
So, if you feed a healer that sort of thing, what do you expect to happen to them?” He asked and she snapped, getting it.
“I get it now.” Her face beamed.
“Because you’re a healer whose body came in contact with an incredible healing item, it caused your healing powers to increase as well.” Mark nodded.
“That’s right.” “But isn’t it too much?” Damian asked.

“From D to A is quite a lot and my stamina, my strength, all of it…
They all increased.
I feel like I’m in a body that’s not mine.” Alice patted his back and smiled.
“Let’s just be thankful for the change.” She said and he nodded.
Only a moment ago, he was sulking at how weak he was, but just like a miracle, he had gotten stronger.
It was thanks to Alice.
“Hey, do you think if I feed him some more, he’ll become an S-class?” Alice asked, snickering but Mark shook his head.
“I don’t think it’s that easy.” He said but she kept snickering.
“Can’t hurt to try,” Damian suddenly bowed his head, startling her.
They were sitting on the floor all along but now he was kneeling with his head bowed down as one would do to an Emperor.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Alice asked.
“Does your stomach hurt by chance?” Damian shook his head and said, “Alice, thank you.” His eyes grew teary.
“I didn’t think such a thing would happen to me.
It’s like a dream.
A very happy dream.
I’ve always felt I’d be a burden walking alongside someone as incredible as you, but now that I have gotten to this point, I promise,” he raised his head and declared.
“I will try my best to be worthy of standing by your side.” Alice was taken aback.
Where did he have time to come up with his speech?
It was nice.
But furthermore…
Her lips curled up.
“You don’t have to be the best to stand by my side.” She said.
“But if standing by my side makes you stronger, then I’ll gladly keep you by my side for as long as it takes.” Damian’s eyes grew teary and he began to cry.
“What’s wrong?
Sand got in your eye?” She asked and he nodded.
“I’m afraid so.” He said, even if they both knew that was a lie.
“There there, I’ll blow it for you.” She said and brought her lips to his eyes and blew gently on it.
Damian’s heart was pounding.
It felt like a dream even to this moment.
Was this why the people around Alice were all so strong and crazy about her?
They all worshiped her.
He knew she was amazing, being incredibly powerful and all, but he never knew there were such wonderful things that befell those who followed her and it came without any plans.
Was this why his brother asked him to stick close to her?
He knew she would keep him safe and also make him stronger.
Did his brother truly know?
Devon Snow, fighting in a dungeon with his companions, cleaned the black blood from his face and scratched his ear as it suddenly felt itchy.
“Damian must be thinking about me.” He thought with such pride woven in his smirk.
“Or is it Alice?
That would be nice.” “Guild master, over here.” “Coming.” Mark watched as Alice patted Damian’s back.
Once again, she had managed to subconsciously put a leash around the neck of one more male in her life.
It was like she was a male magnet.
What to do with this development?
‘A servant,’ her words suddenly played in his head and his lips secretly curled up.
Sure, he wouldn’t mind being her servant and she could be his master.
After all, she already owned his life after having saved him, so what difference would it make if they gave their relationship such titles?
He grinned.
(Hey, don’t steal Micheal’s role) Alice got up, holding Damian’s hand, and then her eyebrows furrowed, followed by her creasing forehead.
“Wait a damn second, when did you get so tall?” She asked and Damian realized he had gotten so much taller than her.
The shorts he was wearing had tightened up around his thighs, and his shirt, which had been loose on his body, was hugging his body tight, showing the shape of his suddenly broad shoulders and toned abs.
“Hm, my shorts do feel tighter.” He said.
That seemed to be the only thing he noticed but there was way more to the eyes.
Even his hair grew longer.
“Hold on, where did my cute adorable little Damian go?” She grabbed his face, looking around.
Even his cute baby fat had suddenly disappeared and Alice sulked.
“I don’t like this.
Give it back.” “Give what back, Alice?” He asked, quite confused, and then he noticed it.
Alice used to be able to look him in the eye, but her eyes were falling on his chin, so when she had to grab his chin, she had to raise her hands a bit, and she did not like it.
“I do not like this change.” Alice frowned.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Awn, cute boy is gone and now he’s become a grown man, muhahaha.
