- Chapter 299 - Chapter 299 I will, if I have to
Chapter 299: I will, if I have to Chapter 299: I will, if I have to “Get her things ready, we’re leaving right now.” Diane recounted as she tried to mimic Samson’s words and she burst into laughter.
“He was a total brute.” She grabbed her stomach and kept laughing.
“Do not make fun of my words.
I had to be as straightforward as I could.” Samson said, shifting his gaze away in embarrassment and she nodded through her laughter.
“I know.
I know.
But it’s still so hilarious no matter how many times I recall.” Alice stared at them.
Okay, they did seem like a nice pair, now that she was taking a good look at them.
But still…
“So, did you two start hooking up after you went with him?” Alice asked bluntly and Damian fidgeted.
“Alice, don’t…
Don’t say such words.
It’s r-rude.” He said, in stutters as Samson’s presence terrified him, but she simply picked her ear, not minding his words.
“The only thing that’s rude right now is this guy who doesn’t want to give us space.” Alice pointed at Samson.
“He’s acting like some nanny.
If he comes with us, I don’t think I’ll be able to give those bastards as much pain as I want.” “I get it.
But don’t worry, he’s not coming with us.” Diane said.
“He just wanted to make sure I wasn’t getting into anything nasty.” “Why?
Because I’m the one who called you?” Alice asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Is it nasty if it’s me?” “No, that’s not what I meant.” Diane said.
“You know that’s not it.” “Then?” She shifted her gaze to Samson.
“Spot it, Samson.
Why are you really here?
And it better not be to stop us because then, I’d have to knock you unconscious and tie you to a building.” Samson’s face squeezed in slightly as he stared at Alice making such threats.
She looked dead serious and there was no reason to doubt that she was capable of such a thing.
After all, if she grew up in the same brutal place Diane grew up in, then she must equally care less what others think of her.
Unlike the others, who doubted that a young girl like Alice could be capable of such great things, he was one who liked to believe what his eyes saw.
And after seeing her in action once, he was sure that she was strong enough to beat even him in terms of strength.
“Now that I know it’s all good,” Samson said as he gradually got up from his seat, “I think I’ll take my leave now.
Diane, please be safe, okay?” “Sure.

But if I get wounded, will you suddenly come rushing to my side?” Diane asked with her chin resting on her palm and her lips curled up in a sly smile.
She smiled at him and he nodded.
“I will, if I have to.” He said and she laughed.
“There’s no need for that.” Alice said.
“so, hurry up and shoo.
Shoo!
Shoo!” She chased him with her hands.
“You’re getting in the way.” Samson took one good look at Alice and sighed.
Yes, she was strong, but was she reliable as a teammate?
“I’ll leave now.” He was about to turn and leave when Diane caught his hand and said, “You seem to be forgetting something.” She reminded him and he nodded, bringing out a pair of gloves from his pocket.
He handed it to her, kissed the top of her head, and started leaving.
Alice watched him with squinted eyes as he left.
Aside from having tanned skin and no beards, he looked very much like Big Stach.
Diane waves her hand in front of her eyes.
“Hey, stop staring.” She said.
“I know what you’re thinking, but I’m serious; he’s nothing like that.” “I can tell that he treats you well, but how did you end up with that guy?” Alice asked.
“How did you two become an item, hm?” “Well, I decided to embrace my fears, I guess.” Diane simply said and started putting on the gloves.
“There we go.
Now, what’s the plan?” “Well, nothing much.
We just have to storm into their hideout and bust their heads.” Alice said, finally staring at the lemon water in front of her.
“I could’ve done it on my own and maybe spared myself of this piece of information,” she shuddered, causing Diane to chuckle.
“…but I already made plans to hang out with you.
So, what better way to spend the day than to decapitate a bunch of hooligans who would dare violate a child?” Diane went silent.
She opened her mouth to speak but as her lips parted, no words came out.
She pursed her lips and looked away.
She didn’t realize that was what they were doing.
Violate a child?
Did Alice call her here so she could get revenge with her own hands?
Sure, they weren’t Big Stach men but all men like that were the same, and they needed to be bashed in the head a couple of times.
They didn’t deserve to live in this world.
No one needed such people around.
Damian was a bit lost.
He did not know if they were communicating in their minds or something but the silence that followed Alice’s words made it seem like they both shared the same thoughts.
And that aside, what was ‘he’ doing there?
He could understand if a long-time friend was invited, but he didn’t make these plans with them.
He was probably there because Alice didn’t want him to feel alone.
“Alright,” Diane said as she raised her head and Damian looked up in shock.
“Let’s go bust some heads.” “Alright then, let’s get going.” Alice said, immediately getting up but Diane held her hand and said, “No, we can’t just barge in like that.
We need a plan.” “Hm, a plan?” Alice sat back down.
“Do we really need a plan for bursting into their hideout and killing people?” Damian gulped as he heard that.
Her words made it sound like they were the bad people but he knew Alice had good intentions.
Still, he wasn’t very comfortable with it.
“You can charge in first and I follow after.
And Damian over there…” Diane turned to Damian and noticed he looked rather uncomfortable.
“Why doesn’t he just take the rear?” “Oh, that’s a good idea.” Alice turned to Damian.
“You can watch our backs and make sure no one comes in.” “Al-alright.” He said but did not dare raise his head as he felt even more uncomfortable.
This meant he would have to stand on the sidelines and watch the whole thing happening, so it was better, right?
But it did not make him feel any better since he would be watching Alice and Diane kill people for real.
They were bad people, and they needed to die, but…
He clutched his fists.
“Hey,” Diane called and Damian raised his head.
“You’ve never killed a person before, have you?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Yeah, no, our Damian is an innocent puppy
