- Chapter 300 - Chapter 300 You made the poor guy cry
Chapter 300: You made the poor guy cry Chapter 300: You made the poor guy cry (Yay!
We’ve arrived at the 300th chapter.
Glad to see y’all here, hehe.
Let’s celebrate again in the 400th chapter, okay?) “Hey,” Diane called and Damian raised his head.
“You’ve never killed a person before, have you?” Damian flinched at the mention of that and he slowly bowed his head, shaking it as he answered.
“N-no, never.” He said.
“I haven’t even killed a monster, so…” Alice’s eyes widened as she immediately realized what she was doing.
She turned to Damian and apologized, “Damian, I’m so sorry.
I seem to have overlooked something.
Just because you’re an awakened, doesn’t mean you’re comfortable with this, right?
I should’ve asked you how you felt about this before…” “N-no, no.” Damian shook his head.
“I wanted to come with you.” He confessed.
“From the way you looked after that woman’s story, I knew right away.
I knew what you were going to do.
And I knew I’d have to get my hands dirty, I just…” He raised his head and met her gaze with teary eyes.
“…wanted to help you as much as I could.” Alice’s eyes widened.
Why was he trying to be cute at a time like this?
Look at those teary eyes.
He was so adorably handsome.
Was it his innocence that was speaking for him?
But he looked completely untarnished and his mind…
Alice sighed as she shook his head.
“No, this won’t do.” She said.
“If Devon finds out I sullied his dear brother’s hands with blood, I don’t think he’d ever look at me the same way again.” “What does this have to do with my brother?” Damian suddenly screamed out as if fed up and this shocked Alice.
What was that about?
Damian had an outburst.
Not because he was angry but because he was fed up.
If everyone was going to treat him based on what his brother wanted and not what ‘he’ wanted, then what was the point of making friends?
He wanted to be seen as an individual and not somebody’s brother.
Alice had always looked at him as an individual, not taking the fact that he was Devon’s brother to tally his treatment.

But now, she was thinking of his brother’s thoughts on this, and not his.
It wasn’t fair.
He loved his brother and was deeply grateful for all he had done for him, all he had sacrificed, but…
He did not want to live as his shadow.
He was weaker, yes, but now that he was slightly stronger, he wanted to make himself known.
He wanted to walk into the light alongside Alice.
He did not want to stay hidden any longer.
He…
Tears unwillingly rolled down his cheeks, shocking Alice even more.
Just what was going on all of a sudden?
Why was Damian crying?
“You made the poor guy cry,” Diane said.
She was just stating the obvious.
Alice did not know why he was crying all of a sudden but a little hug might help.
She reached her arms towards him and hugged him, dropping his head on her shoulder.
“Damian, what’s wrong?” She asked.
“Please don’t cry.
You know you can tell me.” Damian held her as he sniffed, hoping to stop his tears but he only kept crying.
He was bigger than before so his back was a bit arced.
And they were also seated, so it looked uncomfortable on his part, but he did not want to let go.
He found comfort in Alice’s arms and that was why he cried more.
Alice felt conflicted.
Was it something she said?
Why did he suddenly scream and start crying?
“Don’t…” Damian spoke up.
“Please, don’t think of my brother’s thoughts.
Just…
Think of what I want.” Alice tried to understand his words, but at this moment, when her thoughts were a bit jumbled, she could not get it.
“He means you should worry about what he wants rather than what his brother would want.” Diane spoke up, helping the situation.
“He’s an individual who wants to be treated as one.
Not because he’s someone’s brother.” “Oh!” Alice exclaimed and turned her head to Damian.
“Is that what this is about?
I…
I didn’t know you were feeling that way.” Damian sniffed.
“Then, when I said Devon would never want you to sully your hands with blood, you got offended?” “I just…
felt you weren’t taking my thoughts into consideration.” Damian said and she patted his back.
“You didn’t even ask if I wanted to kill those bad guys,” “Well, do you?” “No,” Damian answered right away, lifting his head from Alice’s shoulder and showing his wet face and slightly running nose, and seeing this, Alice ended up laughing.
“Okay, next time, I’ll use my words properly.
Even when you’ve grown like this, you still act so adorable.” She said, placing her hands on his wet cheek.
“I’m sorry, Damian.
I would never want to make you feel that way, you know that, right?” “Yes,” Damian nodded and then smiled.
“Alice treats me the best after my brother, so I know you never meant it.” Alice smiled back at him and then noticed the tears on his face were disappearing.
They looked like they were evaporating, and the same with the tears on her shoulder.
“Wow, so you can use your powers like that?
How cute?” She exclaimed over a light chuckle and Damian blushed.
He was starting to get embarrassed after realizing how childish he had acted.
“Wow, despite how you look, you might actually be more innocent than I thought.” Diane exclaimed.
“I didn’t expect to see such a grown guy cry so childishly.” She looked like she was enjoying the show from the side.
“How old are you anyway?
20?
21?” Hearing Diane’s guess, Alice almost laughed but kept her mouth shut, which caused her cheeks to bloat.
“I…
I’m 16.” Damian answered and Diane’s face froze for a second.
She blinked and after processing his words, she exclaimed in shock, “Huh?!” “B…But I’ll be 17 in two months, so…” “That’s not the point here.” Diane flared.
How was she to believe that such a grown guy was sixteen years old?
Alice couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.
