- Chapter 301 - Chapter 301 I suddenly feel so guilty about this
Chapter 301: I suddenly feel so guilty about this Chapter 301: I suddenly feel so guilty about this Since that was settled, Alice decided to ask Damian once more, “Damian, you’re not fond of killing people, right?
Are you sure you want to come along?” “Yes,” Damian said.
“If I can’t bring myself to kill wicked people who do cruel things to their fellow humans, how will I bring myself to kill monsters?” “Well, that’s technically true but you don’t really have to spill human blood just because they are no different from monsters.” Diane said.
“Once you do, there’s no going back.” Damian went silent, pressing his lips together.
Alice watched him.
Her elbow was on the table and her face rested on her palm.
His side view looked so handsome.
And though that wasn’t the kind of thought to be having at such a time, she couldn’t help it.
“Will you be able to do it, though?” Alice asked him and he turned his face towards her.
The side view was nice but the full front view was still the best.
“If you hesitate, it’s game over for you, Damian.
And I know you’re a healer and all, but I can’t stand the thought of you getting hurt.” “Don’t worry, Alice.
Even a rabbit will bite back once it’s threatened.” He said, finally looking determined and he nodded.
“Then, let’s do it like this.” She raised her head.
“I’ll take the front, like Diane said, Diane will be right behind me, and you’ll stand guard in case anyone tries to escape.” “Wait, I thought you said he was a healer.” Diane mentioned.
“If that’s the case, won’t he be vulnerable to attacks?” “Don’t worry about that.
Damian might be a healer but his strength is still above that of anyone below A-class.
So, he just needs to work his muscles off and not get hurt.” She said, turning to Damian with a smile.
“Got it?” Damian blushed and averted his eyes.
“I…
I got it.” “Well, if you say so.” Diane said.
“Then, shall we get going?” They started getting up but Alice still glanced at Damian, wondering if this was okay.
‘I suddenly feel so guilty about this.’ she thought.
‘What if Damian gets attacked and he hesitates?
What if he gets hurt?’ “Alice,” Damian called and Alice looked up at him.
‘What if something happens to that pretty face?’ She wondered, worriedly.
‘He’s a healer but it doesn’t seem like he can take care of himself if he gets hurt.
I have to give him something with high defense.
Do I have any items like that?’ She got so deep in thought that Diane had to smack her in the head to bring her back.
“Hey, what are you spacing out for?” She asked and Alice snapped her fingers.

“I got it.” She suddenly started taking off her jacket.
“What…
What are you doing, Alice?” Damian asked but Alice simply took off her jacket and stretched it towards him.
“Here, wear this.” “What?!” He exclaimed, shocked.
“Why would I wear your jacket?
It…
It won’t even fit.” “Hey, it’s not a normal jacket.” Alice said.
“Just take it.
You’ll understand then.” He slowly took it from her and then it changed into its original form.
A black robe.
“Ah, it’s an item?” He asked and she nodded.
“Put it on.
I don’t think I’ll be able to concentrate now that my eyes have been opened.
So…” Damian put on the robe and it immediately adjusted its size to fit Damian, taking the form of any regular black coat.
“Ah, this is incredible.” Damian exclaimed.
“This is an S-class item, right?” “I don’t know, but let’s just say it is.” She patted his back.
“The defense is amazing so even if you get attacked by a sneak attack, you won’t get hurt in the slightest.” “Oh, is this what you wore when you were fighting Big Stach?” Diane asked.
“Wow, great memory, Diane.” Alice gave her a thumbs up as well as a titter.
“Even though it was all chaos, I couldn’t help but notice how you never got dirty and your jacket kept deflecting all the surprise attacks.” “You were paying attention to that?” Alice looked at her surprised.
“You were literally held hostage so how did you notice?” Diane shrugged and stuck her tongue out.
“I had to pay attention to something to avert my fear a bit, haha.
I would’ve been useless otherwise.” Her smile fell sadly but then it brightened as she raised her head and said, “In any case, it’s a very valuable item.
I want one.” Alice grabbed her cheeks.
“Be content, you thief.” She said with serious eyes and Diane laughed.
“Certainly.
I would never rob my savior,” she laughed more and clenched her gloved fist in front of her.
“Besides, I’m more than content with this.
So, thank you.” “Atta girl.
That’s the way to go.
Contentment makes the girl.” Alice said, wrapping her arm around her neck.
“You mean contentment makes the man.” “Tch, now you’re just gender discriminating.” Alice said and Diane pushed her face away.
“Shut up already, you dumbass!” Between both of them, Diane was a very skilled thief.
And if she set her eyes on something, she’d get it no matter what.
Her greed was greater than Alice’s, and that greed was sometimes too dangerous to handle.
Damian stopped walking and looked at the coat on him.
It was such a valuable item, and it looked like Alice had worn it a lot.
She loved it.
Yet, she gave it to him because she was worried for his safety.
He could feel his heartbeat accelerate.
He could even hear it.
This action made him feel special.
He had no idea what Alice was thinking or how she felt about him, but he was glad she considered him as someone important enough to give away her precious possession without a second thought.
“Damian,” Alice called, noticing he had stopped quite a distance back, and she waved her hands.
“Hey, what the hold up?
Do you need me to carry you or something?” She asked and his face turned red.
“N-no, thank you.” He said and hurried towards them.
Yes, he was a special and important person in her life but he sometimes felt she only saw him as a child.
Was that a bad thing?
No, it wasn’t…
But he wanted her to look at him more than just a child.
He wanted…more.
But for now, he wouldn’t ask for more.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Wellz let’s see about that, shall we?
if you end up asking for more first or Alice shows more interest in you first
