Chapter 308: And why would I tell you?
Chapter 308: And why would I tell you?
Damian was in awe.
He had never seen anyone more powerful.
Guess it was true that she was the strongest in the world.
He shut his eyes.
He wanted to be strong like that.
If he was, he would be able to stand next to her with his head held high.
He wouldn’t need to sit back and hide while she took care of the bad guys.
“Maybe…” He looked at the guys who were in disarray.
“…I can get rid of those guys.” He was about to pop out of his hiding place and maybe spill some water on the floor to put them in further disarray, but before he could do that, Diane returned on Domus, stretching her hand towards them and yelling, “Hell’s flame!” She shot a big blast of flames on them, and they all caught on fire.
Since there was also a car there, the car exploded and caught them in it.
Damian was shocked.
He was glad he did not go out, but he was even more relieved that he had no spilled water on the floor.
The flame would’ve been weakened if he had done so.
He sighed in relief.
“This is why it’s good to listen to orders.” He muttered to himself.
But since it was all settled, he guessed he could come out now.
The explosion was massive, and Alice watched it from a distance.
She stood with Manu, who desperately held on to Ze’s body as if his life depended on it.
“Oh,” Alice gazed at the scene with her hand above her eyes.
“Now, that’s flashy.
Seems like she’s back.” Manu gazed at the explosion in fear.
Just…
What was going on?
“Ze, Ze!” He tried to wake her up when Alice glared down at him again.
“I know you’re not the boss.” She said.
“But I can tell you know as much as the boss does.
So, tell me, where else do you guys keep innocent kids for your own perverted satisfaction?” She asked, but Manu kept his mouth shut.
“Hm?
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Did you go mute?” “And why would I tell you?
You came in and ruined our business.
I don’t know if you’re doing this out of revenge or…” Alice grabbed his hair and punched him in the face.
Quite lightly, since she did not plan to break his skull in the process, but she did break his teeth and his nose included.
“I never said I was asking nicely,” she said.
“This is a threat.
Tell me what you know, and I might let you and your precious boss go.
From what I can tell…” She let go of his hair.
“You have it hot for your boss.” “W…
what are you?” He barely spoke straight with his disfigured face.
“If you’re going to open your mouth and speak, at least answer my question.” She said.
Manu was terrified.
This girl…
No, she was a devil.
How was she so strong and so unhinged?
But what mattered was getting away from there alive.
“The address is…” He told her two more addresses where Ze kept kids as well as where they kept their treasures.
‘After we get away, I’ll regroup with our foreign partners, and then we’ll hunt you down.’ he held murderous intent in his eyes as he gazed at Alice with bitter hatred.
‘I’ll make sure to wipe you out, as well as anyone you care about.’ “You know,” Alice said, “Even if your foreign partners come, they’ll never be able to leave a scratch on me.” Manu’s eyes widened.
‘How did she know what I was thinking?
A mind reader?
Oh, no.
This is bad.’ “Yes, it’s very bad.
Very, very bad.” Alice said, hovering over him like the devil himself.
“Now, I have one more question I’d like to ask.
Have you two ever come in contact with this so-called Miracle potion?” Manu was so scared that he inevitably peed his pants.
Alice took a step back.
“That’s gross.” She said.
“But you’ll answer me regardless.
So tell me, do you know of the miracle potion?” “Y-yes, I know of it.” He answered, his body shuddering in fear.
“But we never took it.
We…
We never…” “Hm?
That’s odd.
I’m certain the likes of you would stake everything just to get that miracle potion.” “Ze said it was dangerous to take anything from an unknown party.” Manu explained.
“She never takes risks like that because physical strength is not her goal.” Alice went silent.
Sounded like this boss was a smart person.
Well, of course, she was smart to have been able to carry out her perverted antics without getting apprehended.
“I see.” She said.
“So, she never took the miracle potion.” Ze shook his head and began to wonder, ‘Are…
Are we safe now?
I answered everything honestly.
What’s going to happen now?’ “For one thing, you’re not safe.” Alice said and called out, “Diane, are you there?” “Yeah, just waiting on your orders, captain.” “Sheesh, don’t call me that.” Alice said as she began to feel embarrassed.
“Anyway, Domus, heads up.” She grabbed Ze from Manu’s grip and tossed her in the air.
Domus caught her and ripped her to pieces in the air, eating what he could and making quite a mess.
Manu was horrified.
What just happened?
What just…?
“Oh, don’t worry.
I’m not going to feed you to Domus.
You peed your pants, and I can’t have my baby eating such dirty things.” She said and grabbed his collar.
“B-but…
You said…
You said you’d let us go if I answered truthfully.” He said, and Alice paused.
“Oh, did I?
Well,” her lips curled up.
“I lied.” She laughed.
“Besides, it’s better to get rid of anything that could bring me trouble tomorrow, right?
Can’t have you regrouping with a group of foreigners and go after the people I care about.” She whistled as she dragged his body on the floor.
“But I guess my friends aren’t exactly weak, so it’d be a miracle if you could even get into a fifty-meter radius and not get spotted.
Haha.
They’re all extraordinary.” “T-then, what’s going to happen to me?” He asked.
“Well, you don’t think I’d let you live, right?” She asked him, her eyes bringing mischief.
This was it.
This was the end for him.
No, maybe if he begged for his life…
She didn’t look like an evil person.
So…
“I don’t…
I don’t want to die.” He said.
“P-please, spare me.
I’m sorry, so spare…” He earned himself a hard slap from Diane.
Her gauntlets did far more damage than her normal hands would.
“You’re sorry?” She grabbed his collar and glared at him, growling under her breath.
“You want us to spare you?
Now, why does that sound like a familiar line?
Ah, yes, the kids you guys tortured till their deaths…
I’m pretty sure they said the same words as they cried their eyes out.
They were innocent, but their cries were unheard, you scumbags deserve every bit of this.
You deserve to suffer for the rest of your lives.
A quick death is too easy, so…” She turned to Alice.
“I’ll make sure you suffer here before you end up in hell.” “Sure, your call.” Alice said.
