Chapter 311: Excuse me, I need to take this
“Then, do you also know the leader of the awakened agency?” Diane asked, deciding to bet on it. If Alice knew the chairman, then she’d know the leader, right?
“You mean Noah?” Alice asked and Diane closed her eyes, nodding her head. Sure she knew him. “We met for the first time yesterday, though. And don’t worry, I gave him a good smack on our behalf.”
“You slapped the leader of the Awakened agency on our behalf?” Diane asked, shocked. “The leader of the agency? Why?”
Alice went silent, her hand stopped moving and she faced Diane with a serious gaze.
“Because of the numerous times we had to watch one of his corrupt men walk away with their pockets full while one of us had to suffer for asking for help. That… I could not stand it. So, I slapped him and sent him flying.” She bowed her head and then raised it, waving it away with a silly smile. “But don’t worry, I healed him right after. He’s got a pretty face, you know. It’d be a shame to let it swell for too long.”
Diane watched her silently. She had felt the weight of her words when she talked about how they walked away with a loot.
Seriously, she had been equally angry then, but she would not dare take a risk and hit such a strong man.
Maybe it was because she was not strong enough. If she were as strong as Alice, she would’ve been able to.
A small laugh escaped her lips and she said,
“A win for one is a win for all, I guess.” She smiled. “Next time, I’d like to watch for myself. I’m sure it’d feel really good.”
“Maybe you can watch our fight later. The council members of the association still act like stubborn, old, dissatisfied geezers and want to ‘test’ my strength. See for themselves how extraordinary I claim to be.”
“So, you’re going to do it?” Diane asked and Alice cracked her knuckles, snickering.
“As long as I get to shut them up and they allow me do however I please, I’ll do just that.” She said and Diane sighed.
Alice was still as reckless. But at least she’s got the power to back up her recklessness this time around.
Damian suddenly got a phone call and his eyes beamed when he saw it was his brother.
It looked like he was out of the gate.
“Excuse me, I need to take this.” He said and hurried away to answer it.
Alice watched him. She could tell it was Devon and sighed in relief. He returned safely.
“Come to think of it, pretty boy didn’t get his hands dirty after all.” Diane said as Alice stuffed her mouth with ice cream.
“Yeah, it’s a relief.” She said. ‘It would forever weigh in my mind if I let him stain his hands with the blood of another person. Though they deserved it, their lives were not his to take. And they weren’t mine to take either but someone had to do it.’ She raised her head and watched him smiling with pure innocence. ‘I wish his innocence would last a little longer.’
She suddenly realized something.
“Come to think of it, I never met him in the past.” Alice said and Diane asked,
“Never met who?” She asked and Alice realized she was speaking out loud.
“Oh, don’t mind me. I was just thinking of something random.” She said and took out her phone. “I’m almost done with my ice cream. Let’s head to a chicken restaurant next.”
“And after that?” Diane asked.
“You can take us to wherever you want.” Alice said, smiling nervously since Diane’s eyes were seeking something.
After hearing Alice’s words, her seeking eyes vanished, and she smiled. It looked like this was her goal from the beginning.
“Alright, let’s do that.”
Damian returned and took a seat.
“Hm? Aren’t you going to see Devon?” Alice asked but he shook his head and said,

“I… I’m nervous.” He said. “I look like this now. He might not even believe it’s me, so… I’ll wait till he’s done in the guild building and explain things to him properly when he gets home.”
“Well, if you say so.” Alice said and licked her lips. “We’re done here. So, let’s go eat.”
They went to a restaurant next and Diane watched, for the first time, Alice’s eating capacity. She was stunned speechless, honestly.
“You… You’ll get used to it after the first few times of watching her eat.” Damian whispered to her.
“Uh huh, I feel I’m already getting used to it.” Diane exclaimed, the shock still in her eyes. “So, that’s why she wanted us to get a private booth.”
After dinner, when Alice had stuffed her stomach to the max, Diane watched Alice carefully, particularly her stomach, wondering where all that food went.
“Amazing!” She exclaimed when she noticed Alice’s stomach was still as flat as it used to be.
There wasn’t even a single bump.
It was as if she had been blessed with the perfect shape and a bottomless pit somewhere down there.
Diane also had a perfect figure. It was mostly thanks to the elixir but she also had someone taking good care of her, so she never really thought back to the elixir.
But her wounds tend to heal quickly thanks to the effects, so she was always reminded that she had taken an elixir that fixed her up when her body was broken.
“Then, shall we go to ‘my’ destination next?” Diane asleep her face filled with glee as she clasped her hands together.
“Yeah, sure. How hard could it be?” Alice asked but after going to three different clothing shops and trying several dresses, she realized fighting monsters wasn’t the only difficult battle in the world.
“Alright, should we try that shop next?” Diane pointed but they both shook their heads.
Damian had equally been dragged into this torture, but he wasn’t as drained as Alice since he got to see her in different looks. She looked good in everything.
“Sorry, Diane. But I have another appointment in about… What’s the time?”
“5:25!” Damian answered, barely able to look at his watch thanks to all the load he had in his hands.
“…in five minutes.” Alice said. “I have to meet someone in five minutes.”
“Oh? Who could it be?” Diane asked but Alice shook her head.
“I’ll keep these for now. They’re all mine, right? Thank you, Diane, for everything.” She said and sucked it all into her ring.
They were in a blind spot and no one was watching them, so she was able to use her ring without any witnesses.
“Oh, this seems serious. Are you sure you won’t tell me who it is?” Diane asked as Alice sighed in relief from carrying too many dainty things.
“Well, the person I’m meeting is…”
“There you are.” Michael’s voice interrupted her as she felt his presence suddenly appear behind her. She sighed and raised her head to see his masked face.
She could tell he was smiling, having found her as he said,
“I know our appointment is in less than 4 minutes, but I couldn’t wait and decided to come find you instead.” He raised his head to look at the two who were shocked to suddenly see him.
He wrapped his arms around Alice’s shoulder and said,
“And I’m glad I did. After all, I’ve been missing you for every second that went by.”
