Chapter 319: I heard you wanted to see me
Alice had a murderous air around her and it scared Vector. He was even more frightened at her words. What did she mean by that?
Was she just trying to exert her dominance? Was she mad, by chance?
His cold sweat kept flowing down his face and he cleaned them till his handkerchief was soaked. He was scared. Should he tell the boss about this?
But what if it was just a bluff and there was no cause for alarm? He would be disturbing the boss for no reason.
“Ma’am,” one of the workers there approached with the mana stone resting on a red pillow. “It’s time to make your payment.”
“Ah, yes, of course.” She said and stretched her hands to the side. “After this, I’ll need the rest of my payment for the goods I sold to you right away.”
As soon as she said that, Vector flinched and went to her side, bowing his head.
“Oh, now, Miss Black, there’s no need to make payment first.” He said to her. “Why don’t we do it like this? We shall calculate the rest of your balance right now, take out the money for the bid you just won, and give you the rest.”
Alice went silent. Ah, this was her plan all along. She had no plans to let them see her ring function and bring out so many wades of cash out of thin air.
She smiled.
“That sounds reasonable.” She said, bringing her hand back. “Give it here.” She requested for the mana stone. “Hurry up and prepare my money while I speak to the supplier.”
“Yes, yes. Right away ma’am.” He was relieved to get away from there.
It was so hard to know what her thoughts were and with her expression covered by her mask, it was relatively hard to read her.
‘I don’t know if this is a false alarm but I feel I need to inform the boss about this.’ Vector made his way out of there. ‘As soon as I’m done preparing the money.’
Alice was alone in that booth. She watched as others struggled for the remaining auction pieces. Most of them had lost their zeal since the infinity stone was gone.
She could feel their eyes. The eyes of those stingy and stuck-up bastards who could not accept the results and wanted to go after her once she stepped foot out of the auction.
She scoffed. ‘If’ they were ever able to step foot out of the auction house.
Someone walked into the booth and Alice’s eyebrows furrowed. There was such a putrid stench coming from him.
She hadn’t turned around or even set her eyes on who it was but she was more than certain that whoever it was, they had demon blood flowing through her veins.
This was far more than the average demon blood consumption. So, it was either they were a demon as well, or they had consumed one too many bottles.
“I heard,” it was a male. “…you wanted to see me?”
Alice finally turned her head and caught site of him. He looked like a walking corpse. His black hair had grown out untamed and unmaintained, covering up his face; his body was so lean that she could almost see his bones.
He looked like he was suffering from some kind of incurable disease.
Was this what happened when one consumed too much demon blood? It was disgusting.
“Are you…the supplier?” She asked him and he nodded.
“Yes, I heard you were a VIP.” He said and sat opposite her. “I’ll make myself comfortable.”
For someone of his appearance, he sounded rather confident and sure of himself.
“I usually don’t meet anyone on any requests, but I heard you have valuable treasures. Is that true?” He asked but Alice did not respond.
Behind the supplier was the screen and, of course, the one-way see-through glass that allowed her to see what was going on down there, but people down there could not see anything up there.
“Hello, are you lost in thoughts, lady?” The supplier asked and Alice closed her eyes.

She sighed.
“First, is it true that you’re the supplier of the miracle potion?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah, that’s why I’m here, right?” He sounded so full of himself and a little… Distracted? His head wasn’t on right, that was for sure.
“Well, I’d like to commend you for helping a lot of people with your supply.” Alice said. “It’s thanks to you that the weak have strength comparable to mighty demons and no one can topple them.”
“Well, it’s my boss you should be thanking. He is the one who does all the dirty job and extracts blood from…” He suddenly paused, his heart thumping heavily as he realized what had just happened.
He looked up at Alice, shocked.
“You… How did you know?” He asked, getting up right away and stepping back.
“Ugh, why did you stop talking? You were already getting to the good part.” Alice rolled her eyes and turned her head away. He was just about to reveal how his boss got the demon’s blood and probably who it was.
But he caught on top fast.
“I asked you a question,” he said, twisting his hands and a spear suddenly appeared in his hand, standing guard against her. “How did you know about demons?”
“Hm? What about demons?” Alice asked, also getting up. “Don’t you read the Bible or something? Demons are creatures from hell, are they not? So, I assume they are strong. What? Did I say anything wrong?”
He was on guard, staring at her with eyes that Alice had yet to see.
“Are… Are you messing with me?” He asked.
“Hm, I feel you’re the one messing with me.” Alice said and sat down again. “You know, just as this world suddenly turned into something like a video game, having monsters and such, I assumed we’d have demons as well, but I…” She smirked. “…never thought it’d be true.”
