Chapter 328: When did I act cute?
Leo decided to fill the tub with the special formula from where he was so he didn’t have to look at her naked body.
Not that he couldn’t afford to look but he wanted her to feel awareness when it came to her body. But he didn’t think she was going to get that awareness no matter what he did. Thanks to the succubus effects, she would probably never feel that awareness in the presence of a man.
Alice waited for this secret formula and before she knew it, the tub was getting filled with burbles.
“Whoa, no way! Is this the secret formula?” She asked, raising her hand filled with burbles. “It’s just foam, right?”
Leo sighed, dropped his hand, and walked in.
“It’s not just foam, dummy.” He said and started drawing his sleeves up. “Smell it. What does it smell like?”
Alice took a bit of the foam to her nose and sniffed but she couldn’t exactly make out a smell. It wasn’t fragrant either. It was just plain.
“Is my nose broken?” she asked, turning to Leo who once again stifled a laugh. “Uh? Why are you laughing again?”
“Look in the mirror and then ask me that?” He said, swirling his finger in the air and Alice got to see her reflection in what looked like a liquid mirror. She grabbed it as her eyes widened in shock.
“Huh?” She exclaimed, and Leo was at the side, trying hard to keep his laughter from bursting out.
While Alice was trying hard to make out the scent or smell of the foam, a little had gotten on both her eyebrows, forming a very long and thick eyebrow. And then there was the mustache.
It looked hilarious that Leo could not even pretend not to see it.
“You’re such a meanie.” Alice yelled at him as she violently rubbed off the foam on her eyebrows.
“Oh, don’t be such a baby.” Leo said, dropping his hands on her shoulders. “Let me laugh once in a while.”
“It’s not my fault you keep a straight face most of the time.” She complained. “And I’m not a comedy piece for you to laugh to.”
“Yes, yes. You’re not a comedy piece.” He said as he gradually started tying her hair up. “But I can’t help but laugh when you act cute and funny, can I?” he asked and she looked over her shoulder.
“Cute?” she asked. “When did I act cute?”
Leo went silent and simply focused on her hair. Alice had a feeling he wouldn’t say anything else from there, so she pouted her lips and looked forward, staring at the mirror he had conjured.
He looked serious as he softly and gently handled her hair. He was so focused.
“So,” She decided to move the topic. “What is this secret formula? And why can’t I smell anything from the foam?”
“Do you know what is required when a baptism from sin is being conducted?” Leo asked, and she tilted her head, searching for the answer.
“I think it’s water.” She answered. “What about it?”
“What are the properties of water? And why do you think they use water out of all things?” He further asked and Alice felt she was suddenly writing an exam on critical thinking.
“Well, water is odorless, colorless, pure, and…” she paused and glanced over her shoulder at him.
“Go on.” He said. “What do you think?”
“Well, since water is pure, they hope to purify sins with that purity, hoping the sinner can be cleansed. Is that right?” she asked and he nodded. “Then what does that have to do with this? First, I am certain that just water isn’t enough to clear the stench of death and we aren’t even dealing with water.” She raised a bit of the foam. “It’s more like a bubble bath but without the water.”
“Well, it is my secret formula.” Leo said. “Its main component is water since we can’t have foam with water, and for the rest, I added a bit of ‘goodwill’ and ‘purity’ to bring about the foam.”
“I… don’t get it.” Alice said. “How does any of that create this?”
“Well, it’s not for you to get.” He said and placed his hands on her shoulders. “And if I told you exactly how I did it, it wouldn’t be much of a secret anymore, would it?”
“Then to hell with your secret, idiot!” She flared at him. “I don’t even want to know anymore so let’s get this over with. What do I have to do?”

“Well, just sit there and do nothing. I’ll take care of the rest.” He said. “It’s not exactly an easy task so I’d appreciate it if you allow me to focus.”
Alice silently obeyed, turning away from him, and watched as the foam started sticking to every single part of her body, her face excluded.
She gulped, feeling their movement and looked into the mirror to find Leo’s eyes twinkling as though a thousand stars were sitting in the depths of his gaze.
It was beautiful.
Leo was hard at work, and the most Alice could do for him was sit there obediently and quietly and do nothing while he did whatever he was doing.
She didn’t know if this method would be effective since she killed quite a lot of people and it wasn’t easy to just wipe away the pool of blood she was standing on, but she had her faith in him. After all, he was a constellation who was capable of the impossible.
But she sighed in defeat. She was once again relying on him to fix the mess she made with her own hands. The stench of death… something so putrid and disgusting as she was explained to. She only wondered what it truly smelled like since she was the one giving off the stench.
Alice sighed once again and closed her eyes. What was the use of thinking about it? She just had to be careful not to go on a rampage like that a second time. Wait, speaking of rampage…
“Leo,” Alice called, “You said not to kill humans for the time being, does that imply the humans that have gone mad after an overuse of the demon blood in their system? The zombies.”
“Hm, if they are no longer human, I think it’s fine.” He said. “They’ll be basically demons at that point so you can slaughter them as you see fit.” He explained and she nodded.
Then, after a few minutes, the foam sticking to her dissolved into her skin, and what came out of her pores was dark, thick, and stinking.
Alice covered her nose as the stench hit her hard.
“Fuck! What the hell is that smell?” She asked and with a still voice, Leo answered,
“Death!”
Alice’s eyes widened. This… this awful and pultruding smell was death? It was too hard to endure. She looked at Leo to find him sweating and a little out of breath.
“Are you okay?” she asked him and he nodded, cleaning the sweat on his chin with his arm. “I think I exhausted myself trying to get it all out. It’s almost like going against the laws of the world.” He took in a deep breath. “But it’s fine now. All that stench of death will seep out of you like sweat till it’s all gone.”
“Yeah, disgusting sweat.” Alice grumbled. “Ugh, I think the stench got in my mouth.”
Leo watched her as she expressed extreme irritation to the thick and disgusting liquid coming out of her skin.
When it had just been a smell lingering around her, it wasn’t as offensive, but now that it was out in the open, it was beyond manageable.
“Blegh, Leo, how much longer?” Alice asked. She was seriously grossed out.
“Hold on,” he said and took a look. Her skin had stopped leaking the black stuff. So, that meant it was finished. “It’s done.” He said and picked up the shower head. “I’ll wash you down now so…”
“Leo,” Alice called and he looked down to find her glancing away as she said,
“Thanks… again.”
He didn’t expect her to thank him but he was glad she was grateful. His existence was essential to her.
“If you’re so thankful, why don’t you call me captain from now on?” He asked with a smug on his face and she rolled her eyes.
“Please, can’t you just respond like a normal person?” She asked with an exhausted tone.
“But you and I know I’m not a normal person.” He said.
“Yeah, sure, sure. You are far from a normal person.” She said and glanced at him, her eyes lingering on his face and then fixed on his eyes that were still looking like a lost part of the Milky Way. “Your eyes tell it all.” It was dreamy.
“Stop daydreaming,” Leo barked, splashing water on her face. “Let’s get that awful stench off you already. We’ve already spent an hour here. Mark must be wondering what’s taking so long.”
