Chapter 342: Cut it out, don’t kill her
“Elizabeth,” she called and Elizabeth flinched. “Any last words?” She asked and lunged towards her ready to make the kill.
Elizabeth squirmed. She didn’t want to go down without a fight. At least, she could put up a defense and block whatever attack she would throw at her but why wasn’t her body moving? Why?! Was she really going to die?
But just then, Leo stepped forward, intercepting in the little distance that was left between them, so Alice had to come to a forced halt.
“Alice,” He called with his calm and endearing tone, and she glazed her eyes at him. What was he doing?
“What are you doing?” She asked him with a frown on her face. “Are you protecting her?”
Elizabeth looked at the back of the man who had stepped in between Alice’s attack. Did he step forward because he knew how special she was?
Her eyes lit up with hope, but Leo’s next words shattered that hope.
“No, she can die for all I care,” Leo coldly said. “She was rude first, so she pretty much deserves it, but…” He glanced over his shoulder at her.
His eyes bored into Elizabeth and she shivered even more, bowing her head. She was scared.
“She’s still pretty much a child.” He said, and Alice folded her arms, her aura dispersing immediately, and what was left was the stickling expression on her face.
“Yeah, we’re both kids. What about it?” She asked and he raised an eyebrow at him. “I get your point but why can’t I kill her?”
“Alice, what did you promise me the day before yesterday?”
As soon as Alice heard that, her eyebrows furrowed even more. She clicked her tongue, remembering she already promised she wouldn’t kill anyone for no valid reason and even if she did have a reason, she could get someone to kill on her behalf.
She turned around, searching for Micheal, and found him getting up to his feet and dusting his body because of how rough she had been on him.
“Hey, kill that bitch for me.” She said, pointing at him, and for a moment, he was taken by surprise. He thought she would not take his offer to help kill others on her behalf but she did.
It made him so delighted.
“Certainly,” he answered beaming happily and ready to carry out Alice’s order when Leo said,
“Cut it out. Don’t kill her.” Alice threw her face away as she tsked, in annoyance. “It’s not worth it.”
“I believe that’s for me to decide.”
“Just why are you stressing out over this? Just act laid back as you usually do. Let me be the one to use my brain.” Leo said to her, walking towards her.
“I believe rushing in and killing her doesn’t require thinking, Leo.” She said, but he reached his hand towards her face, adjusted her glasses that were miraculously still balanced on her nose bridge, and sighed.
“Alice,” he placed his hands on her shoulders. “Let’s avoid spilling blood on the school grounds and being seen as a monster.”
Alice frowned. She did not like this.
She looked around, the students were frightened and short of words. For a moment there, she had let her anger get the better of her but… She glared at Elizabeth. She was just too angry.
“Wait, are they really talking about killing someone in front of so many people?” The students were still in shock. They were confused and flabbergasted.
Clarissa was standing next to Lance at the time all this was going on and they both had the same shocked and perplexed expressions on their faces.
Just what was Alice that she needed over four trainers, including their teacher to hold her down and still not look fazed? What sort of power did she possess?
And at the end of it all, she was only going to listen to Leo, who surprisingly moved as fast as she did and looked very calm. What was their relationship after all?
“So, does that mean she’s also an S-class but she’s hiding her ability?” The students were once again filled with speculative gossip.
“That would make perfect sense.”

Class A began to wonder if all this while, Alice had been acting the way she was because she knew that she was more than capable of taking the entire class on and coming out on top if she ever provoked them and forced them to go against her.
That confidence and nonchalance… She had them for a reason.
Clarissa felt like a fool for some reason. She had noticed from the way she was acquainted with those big shots, the chairman of the association and the leader of the agency, that she wasn’t a normal person, but not once did she fantom that her power could suppress even an S-class awakened.
Then, was she SS-class? Her brain was making a fuss.
But… Why keep her ability a secret though?
“Dammit!” Alice scratched her head. “This all happened cause I wanted to save your stupid mana tester.” She said in annoyance, folding her arms. “Go ahead. Do the test for all I care. You might want to prepare to rebuild it with a brand new mana stone after this,” she glared once more at Elizabeth and said, “You have Leo to thank this time, but watch where you tread because if you offend me one more time, pray you don’t lose your head.” She flipped her hair over her shoulder and walked off.
Damian, who did nothing but watch in awe and fright at the same time, followed after her.
Just as Alice was vexed by Elizabeth’s words, he too was angry and he shot her a glare.
He knew very well what Alice had done for their world, so to hear someone say those words to her… he frowned… Death was an act of mercy at that point.
It was ignorant and oblivious people like Elizabeth that made hiding her identity feel so insulting.
“Elizabeth,” Miss Stella called out to her and she barely moved her head. “Do you know what just happened?”
“I… I don’t. I don’t understand.” Elizabeth said.
“It’s simple.” Her eyes went serious. “You almost died and it’s thanks to that prideful and rude attitude of yours. Normally, I wouldn’t condone actions like my student trying to kill their classmate, and I will definitely punish her, but in this case, where you started it, you’ll have to go and seek her forgiveness. If you don’t… You can think of transferring to another school because I will not condone your attitude for even a day.”
She turned around and walked towards her students to calm them down.
Even Miss Stella who was quite the kindhearted teacher, would not tolerate someone who spoke so rudely to Alice.
Elizabeth’s legs finally gave in and she dropped to the floor. Her eyes had gone hollow and her skin pale like the blood had dried up from her body.
“Father,” she muttered. “Aren’t I… Supposed to be the chosen one?”
