Chapter 343: You didn’t answer my question
So, Alice’s incident caused an uproar among the students but they still had a solid schedule. They would just put the incident behind them for the time being and get to practicing.
However, the students could not exactly focus as they were so hung up on what happened earlier. It was a shocker and the killing intent Alice released frightened them to their bone, but it did not stop them from thinking she was so cool, being able to push away the trainers that were trying to hold her back.
The gossip was hot.
For some reason, there was an emergency meeting, and the trainers, as well as Miss Stella, had to leave for a bit.
The students were free to do whatever they wanted during that time and while most were trying to work on their skills, others were still gossiping about what they had just witnessed.
And the talk of everyone’s mouth, Alice, was seated at the bleachers, with Damian.
Alice was so pissed that she felt hungry but she couldn’t leave school to go grab a quick snack even if she wanted to. She’d have to go through the trouble of changing so they don’t alert the school that she was out and about in her gym shorts during school hours.
She swung her crossed legs and clicked her tongue continuously,
“This is so annoying,”
Damian wondered if he could do anything to help her out. If it was food then…
“Do you want me to go grab something for you from the school snack store?” He asked and she turned to him.
“What good would that do?” She asked and turned her head away, making him feel bad, but then she added, “Thanks for the thought though, but I want to eat ‘real’ food, not some snacks.”
“Oh, I get it. Then, don’t mind me.” Damian said, looking away. ‘Hm, I wonder if the school cafeteria gives out food when it’s not lunch yet. I’ll go find out.’ he got up and said to her, “I’ll be back. I need to check something out.” She nodded and watched him run off.
As soon as he was gone and she was alone, she began to feel the stares even more vividly but it did not bother her. The attention was thanks to that brat that felt she knew everything and since she was an S-class, it was okay to talk down to people.
Seriously, who did she think she was?
‘I already have my hands full on my life as it is; I will not tolerate anyone who tries to ruin my peace.’ she thought, and then Leo stood in front of her.
She knew he was the one standing there, even without having to look but she didn’t want to face him.
She was still mad. Maybe if he had allowed her to get rid of Elizabeth, she would’ve felt so much better.
‘Dammit, stop thinking about killing.’ she squinted her eyes. ‘This is exactly what Leo was talking about.’
“So, are you just going to ignore me?” Leo asked but she did not respond. “Do you want me to get you ice cream?” He asked and her ears perked up, but she decided to stick to her morals and not fall for such a cheap temptation. “Hm, is that not enough to move you?” He took a step towards her, climbing the bleachers one at a time till he got to the step she was seated on. “Then, should we head out and go grab an early lunch?”
Alice’s lips were pressed firmly together. He was going to bribe her with food and she… She just couldn’t resist but…
“Why are you doing this?” She asked, turning her head towards him, only for her cheek to meet an iced can of Orange juice. “Aish, cold.”
“Here.” Leo dropped it on her hand.
“You didn’t answer my question,” Alice said, squeezing the orange juice can. “Allow me to stay angry.”
“Well, I know I’m the one who stepped in and stopped you from venting.” He said, helping himself to a seat next to her. “And as such, you’re still mad. So, the least I can do is take you out to eat something. I know you’ll feel better then.” He smiled at her and she glanced away.
“Yeah, I’ll feel better if I can stuff my belly.” She said. “But I’ll still be mad at you.”
“Hm? Why? Because I stopped you from killing?” He asked, slightly tilting his head.
“Forget killing. It’s the fact that you took her side.” Alice pointed out furiously and successfully brushed the can. It spilled out its contents on the chair next to her, and she growled. “You stood up for her. Is it because she’s an S-class that will have some sort of value later?”
“I didn’t take her side though.” Leo said and moved his body towards her, reaching his hand to her head and flicking her forehead.
“Ouch, that hurts.” She frowned at him.

“Get this straight, I stopped you because, one, we were in front of so many people and if you had killed Elizabeth, sure you wouldn’t get in trouble, but the school would begin to wonder if you were a monster for you to get away with cold-blooded murder just for some insulting words she said to you.” He explained. “They don’t know your situation, they don’t know how hard you try to keep the peace. So, to them, you killed over something so petty,” he brushed her hair back softly. “And to avoid that kind of thing from happening, to avoid your peers looking at you with the eyes of a monster, I decided to step up. If you had thought that far, maybe you would’ve just given her a little smack on the head and later, when no one’s looking,” he slit his thumb over his neck. “… No one will ever know it’s you.”
Alice was shocked.
“But you said I shouldn’t kill,”
“Doesn’t mean you can create an ‘accident’ though.” He said, shrugging his shoulders and her mouth widened in awe.
So, he didn’t stand up for her, after all. She was glad. And he had thought so far too. He was thinking about her all along.
Of course, that would be the case. There was no way he would stand up for a stranger against her.
“This is why you’re the brains and I’m the muscle,” Alice said, patting her smooth muscle.
Leo looked at it and then laughed. No one would believe that her dainty arms were far stronger than any macho man out there.
“Are you relieved now?” He asked and she nodded.
“Yeah, I feel better now.”
