Chapter 345: Keep a 17-year-old under tight lock
After the incident that took place not more than an hour ago, the association had been informed, and so the trainers were called forth to witness in the principal’s office.
And the person who let this information slip to the association was no one but Amira. This was probably her chance to get revenge on Alice.
If the Association found out there was a blood-seeking student in their midst, not even the agency could protect her.
Though she did weigh the odds that the chairman might cover it up since he favored Alice, she didn’t care. So long she brought it to light and even called the name of Elizabeth’s family, they would blow up the issue. That was what she wanted.
In the principal’s office, they had a quick holographic meeting with the people that mattered (calling them elders) in the association all over the world.
“Miss Stella, is it true that Miss Stella tried to kill her fellow student?”
Miss Stella went silent, her eyes glancing towards Amira at the side and then at the other trainers. There was Mark, Philip, and Micheal.
The students all witnessed what had happened, so even if she wanted to cover it up at this point, they could just get one of the kids to recount the events, and if it aligned with Amira’s story, then… She clenched her fists… Alice was in trouble.
“Yes, it is true.” She answered and the board went frenzy with murmurs.
“You see, I told you no good would come from a kid wielding such power.” Fredrick, who had once had a spat with Alice the first time she joined the council meeting with his spear, spoke up.
He was probably still angry for being humiliated that time, so he would do all he could to make sure Alice was brought down or, even better, be put under lock.
“And is it true that with all of you there complained, trying to stop her… You were powerless?” Another question hit her, and Philip threw his gaze away, clenching his fists.
They said it like they were weak in the first place. Alice was the freakishly strong one.
“Yes,” Miss Stella once again answered.
“Chairman, we cannot let this go on. If Alice Reinhart can not be easily subdued and keeps trying to take off her fellow classmates’ heads, there will be far too many consequences,” one of the elders spoke up.
“That girl is a walking time bomb, we need to put the reigns on her now that she still doesn’t have the mind to go against humanity.” Another added and they continued murmuring amongst themselves.
“And to top it up, she tried to kill an uprising S-class.” A cumming man spoke up, his voice low and senile. In the holographic image, his eyes were dark. “Wouldn’t you say she was trying to take out future competition? Anyone who posed a threat to her future ‘uprising’.”
“It could’ve been out of jealousy. She wants to be the only one at the top and use an excuse to get rid of others who could reach her level anytime soon.”
“We should summon her at once and keep her under tight lock.” Fredrick was hell-bent on that motion. He never liked Alice to begin with.
Okay, now they had crossed the line. Adolf, who had been silent this entire time, raised his hand and they all went silent.
“So, are you suggesting I take away a 17-year-old’s freedom?” He asked in a calm and deep voice.
“Well, we don’t have a choice. That 17-year-old is a national-level threat.”
“Because she vented out on her fellow student who insulted her and all her efforts she had put in to keep our world safe?” Adolf asked with grim eyes and they were all silenced at once. “Tell me, after sacrificing your life for the good of mankind, a civilian walks up to your face and tells you, ‘You’re so ignorant, thinking you have power when you amount to nothing. You’re a cocky bastard who doesn’t know your place, so just sit tight and do nothing Would you smile and give them a handshake in appreciation of their words? Or better yet… Offer them flowers?” His words were simple and precise.
“They must have a death wish at that point.” Fredrick said. “How dare they talk to me that way? Do they know how much I have to risk just to make sure the monsters don’t run amok and ruin their daily lives?”
Adolf nodded.
“Good very good. So, you believe that those in power should never take the insults of those beneath them, right?”
Amira pursed her lips. This was one thing she did not leak to the council. And it was that Elizabeth flat-out insulted Alice to make her enraged and take action.
Though Miss Stella didn’t know if Amira had leaked the entire details, on their way to the principal’s office, she sent a message to her father with the content of the insults that Elizabeth had thrown Alice’s way.
“Yes, we understand that but how does that have to do with Alice’s current behavior, Chairman?” One of the elders asked. “Yes, she saved us with her power but who’s to say she wouldn’t destroy us with that said power? Even with four experts holding her down, she still didn’t want to stop. I believe she should be punished.”
“That’s where you’re wrong, Bernard,” Adolf said. “Did you dare to ask the reason why Alice attacked Miss Hart in the first place?”

They went silent. They hadn’t asked because they saw no need to.
“Just as any one of us here in this meeting would react in hostility if a civilian insulted us with rude remarks, the same goes for Alice.” Adolf said. “Miss Hart did not only insult Alice but also undermined all her efforts. And I know she is not aware of Alice’s identity but that is not an excuse. Alice felt offended and since Miss Hart had a, what did you call it? Ah, yes, a death wish,” he glared at them. “Alice was very much fulfilling it. Is there a reason why we should punish her on this account?”
The elders started murmuring. How did they not know of these details?
“Right now, I say we just let it go,” Adolf said. “It was a spat between two students and if Miss Hart had died to Alice’s attack, then she had herself to blame for being weak. The weak should never provoke the strong, and the strong has the right to trample on the weak. Is that not the logic you all agreed to?” He massaged his nose bridge. “Now, if we’re done here and you have no more accusations to throw at Alice,” he glared at them. “This meeting is adjourned.”
All the holograms disappeared and Miss Stella, who didn’t need to say a word, sighed. It was nice that Alice was favored by her father, it saved her a lot of trouble.
But now… She turned sharply towards Amira.
“You–”
“I had to!” Amira immediately entered defense mode. “She was going to kill someone and we couldn’t do a thing about it. If we don’t get that crazy student under control, she’s going to go around killing people.”
“Oh, what’s this?” Micheal asked, slithering to her front. “I sense a grudge.”
“Because of Alice, the rose guild has fallen below average. She took our guild master away from us. She…”
Micheal placed a hand on her shoulder and said,
“Let me tell you a secret. Your guild master is dead, and she died by my very hands, not by Alice’s,” he smirked, but she couldn’t see it.
Amira was frozen by that news. It wasn’t… Alice?
No one could. He took a step back and said,
“Miss Stella, why don’t we let this one go?” He suggested. “If she keeps acting on her feelings, I’m afraid Alice will have a lot of trouble in the future.”
“Yeah, you’re right.” Miss Stella said, feonitn at Amira. “I’m sorry, but I value Alice more than you, so I’m replacing you with someone else, and it’s definitely not going to be someone from the Rose Guild.”
Miss Stella felt things had slipped because of her negligence. Yes, the trainers were for all the students and not just Alice, but more than anything, she wished to create a conducive atmosphere for Alice to be comfortable in.
If she had realized that Alice was not on good terms with the Rose guild and the possibility of her identity being exposed, she would’ve never brought Amira in.
“Principal,” Miss Stella bowed her head to the principal who was feeling the heat of it all and cleaning his sweet with a handkerchief. “Thank you for your assistance. We’ll get going now.”
“Yes, have a good time.” He said, waving them off.
Alice got away with it this time, but if an incident like this cropped up a second time, the association would no doubt try to put an unknown two and two together to frame Alice.
For now, she had to make sure Alice didn’t lose control.
Meanwhile, that said Alice had just thrown her show at the guy who was harassing Damian and sent him flying.
“You better have an explanation as to what the hell is going on.” She growled angrily.
