Chapter 347: Hey, do something about your face
“Alright, your freedom of no shoes is over,” Leo said and stopped in front of her. “Time to protect your feet.”
Alice clicked her tongue. Her feet felt so free walking around with the soles of her shoes protecting her from the ground. It was refreshing. Almost like how she went to the beach.
But guess it would be weird if she kept going around without her shoes. Especially since all eyes were on her.
“Hey, Leo, let’s go to the beach sometime,” She suddenly said and watched him as he went down one knee, helping her put on her shoes.
“Why the beach?” He asked her.
“You know…” She looked up at the girls, who were stunned to see him help her wear her shoes. Was he her servant by chance?
He obeyed her so well and did everything for her so naturally too.
‘What are they looking at?’ she wondered, twisting her lips.
“You went there with Micheal, didn’t you?” Leo asked as he carefully cleaned her second leg.
“Yeah, but we weren’t prepared. This time, let’s carry a picnic basket so we can spend the whole day there and…” She looked excited as she said, “Let’s play with the water, too. It was so refreshing.”
“Do you like the beach?” Damian asked and she turned to him with a smile.
“I love it.”
Leo was down, putting on her shoes, and got up, dusting his knee.
“Well, if you want, we can go. I should see how fun the beach is for you to be so excited.”
“And then let’s go to the amusement park next.” Alice added. “I’ve only ever heard of how fun and exciting the rides are so…”
“You’ve never…” Damian spoke up. “Gone to an amusement park?” He looked stunned and Alice smiled.
Damian knew a bit of her backstory, but he wasn’t exactly in the know of how she grew up, the sufferings she had to endure, and how hard she had to live.
He had already seen a lot of dark sides of this world, so he wasn’t generally oblivious but… She hoped he’d just stay oblivious about her own background.
“Well, I didn’t have a lot of fun things going on in my life before,” she said and once again hooked her arms in his. “So, let’s have a lot of fun time from now on. Now that there’s still peace, let’s enjoy it while it lasts,”
“Hm,” he smiled back but she frowned. His face was still bruised.
“Hey, do something about your face.” She said. “I feel like going to beat those guys to a pulp each time I take a look at your face.”
“Oh, right. Just a sec,” he turned around and activated his healing.
Since his healing class was a secret, they couldn’t afford to let others see him healing himself.
“I’ll be over there.” He ran behind the bleachers and Alice sighed.
“Well, now that that’s settled, should we think of transferring schools?” Alice jokingly asked Leo who closed his eyes, refusing to partake in her jokes. She laughed. “Don’t be so stiff-necked. If we dive deep inside the water, what do you think we will see, huh? I’m getting excited just thinking about it. What do you think?”
Yeah, she was indeed excited, and he could see it from the way her eyes wouldn’t stop twinkling, radiating the rays on her glasses, and how her words just kept coming out without stopping.
She was super excited but… how was he, someone who knew nothing about the beach, supposed to answer that question?
If he used the knowledge he had acquired from this world, then what they would see was…
“Fish.” He answered and Alice burst out laughing.
“You’re so stiff. Of course, there are fishes in the river.” She said but couldn’t stop laughing. She even had to hold him so she wouldn’t fall while laughing.

“Then, what would you have me say?” He asked and she wiped her tears from laughing too hard.
She stared at his face softly and said,
“I don’t know. I don’t know what’s underneath the water either.” She smiled. “So, I look forward to seeing it.”
She rested her head on his chest, and he raised his hand, planning to stroke her hair. She was so delicate.
‘Yes, let’s do everything you want to do while we still have time, to the peace is still here.’ his hand was about to touch her head when Clarissa walked up to them and interrupted.
“Hey,” Alice raised her head and as soon as she saw Clarissa, waved her hand.
“Hi, Clarissa.”
Clarissa was going to tread lightly, fearing to anger and already upset Alice and end up being the next Elizabeth but it looked like Alice had gone back to her old self.
She was bright.
But something did bother her. Though the words Elizabeth said to Alice were harsh and beyond reasoning, she had said similar harsh things to Alice before.
She called her cocky and said that she was being all high and mighty because she had a few accomplishments. After all, she had the chairman wrapped around her fingers.
She never stopped showing her hostility and how much she wanted to trample Alice, she wanted to beat her even when she had no reason in mind, and yet… Alice had never once shown her hostility. She told her to do whatever she wanted, so long as she did not forget to take care of her herself.
It was as if she took her antics as a child’s taunt and never took her seriously.
If she had taken her seriously… The chills she got from Alice’s murderous aura came back and she shivered. She placed her hands on her arms and brushed down her goosebumps.
If Alice had taken her seriously, she would’ve been dead by now, wasn’t it?
“Hey,” Alice called and Clarissa snapped back to see Alice’s face right in front of hers. “Ooh, you’re zoning out. Whatcha thinking about?”
Clarissa took a step back but missed the right footing and was about to fall when Alice grabbed her hand and pulled her back to her feet. But she didn’t just land on her feet, she landed in Alice’s arms.
“Careful, there, ice queen,” Alice said with her lips widely spread in a grin. “I don’t want to add this to the list of things Clarissa wants to kill me for. It would be embarrassing,” she laughed, but Clarissa flushed.
It was definitely not as embarrassing as getting saved by the enemy. And what was with the position they were in at the moment?
Why were her arms around her waist?
“Yeah, I got it. But… Your hand.” Clarissa said and Alice noticed her other hand was tightly gripping Clarissa’s waist.
“Oh, sorry. I just did what the others usually do when they stop me from falling,” Alice said, “I hope I didn’t break your rib,” she let Clarissa go and at first, Clarissa thought she was just joking around but when she stood straight, she felt a sharp pain from the place Alice had grabbed her.
“You did,” she blankly said.
Alice grabbed her waist, so how was it that it was her rib that was broken?
“Here, drink this,”
Clarissa raised her head to find Alice handing her a potion.
“It’s a healing potion.” She said but Clarissa was skeptical. Where did that healing potion come from all of a sudden? And why was she offering it to her? Healing potions were valuable so for Alice to causally take it out and hand it over to her enemy…
‘Ah, right.’ Clarissa exclaimed in her mind, lowering her head. She was the only one who saw Alice as an enemy. Alice, on the other hand, was just going along with it.
Alice had made it clear that she didn’t care for the unknown hostility she felt in her heart. She would just do whatever she wanted to.
After seeing what had happened, she came to believe that Alice was serious when she said no one had ever beaten her. So… Could she really do it? Could she take on such a monstrous ability and win?
She no longer had the confidence. And honestly, she no longer had the will to want to fight her but… She just couldn’t get rid of the hatred in her heart so easily.
“Thank you, but I don’t need it.” Clarissa said,
“You sure?” Alice asked. “Are you sure you want to take a trip to the hospital? That could be a real bother, you know? They’ll start asking how an A-class awakened student got an internal injury when you don’t even fight monsters. Do you really want that?”
Alice placed one hand on her hip while the other was shaking the bottle. She was just trying to convince Clarissa to ease her burden. She just had to stop being stubborn. Sheesh.
“Fine,” Clarissa snatched it from her. “But I don’t owe you any favors.”
“Sure, I’m just fixing what I broke, no biggie.” Alice smiled. “Now, did you have something you wanted to say to me?” She asked, watching Clarissa take a sip and then close it back up.
She wanted to hand the rest to Alice but Alice refused, saying,
“Oh, it’s yours now.” She said. “Don’t worry, I have plenty.”
