Chapter 349: An argument in the classroom
Miss Stella gathered up the students and announced that Amira would no longer be their trainer.
It made the students wonder why all of a sudden but no one got an answer. Then, Miss Stella also announced the change in their training structure.
It was going to be tougher and more extreme than they had anticipated.
Since it had become a competition with other schools, they had to pick out the best to go against the other schools.
And as such, they would all compete against one another to pick out the best before that day. They had less than a week to get ready at this point so no more going easy. They had to go all out and not even worry about injuring one another, so long as they went all out and gave it their best shot. Treatment was not a problem.
As long as no one died, it was worth it. Their school must come on top.
And with their knowledge of Alice’s prowess, their spirits were greatly lifted, knowing that with someone like Alice on their side, they would win for sure.
But Alice couldn’t do it all on her own, so they had to play their part of course.
And finally, that long and seemingly hectic day came to an end. Everyone went back to their classes for the roll call to make sure no one had snuck home.
“Zane, Gabriel, and Richard are missing from the class. Where are they?” Miss Stella asked and all eyes silently flew toward Alice.
Miss Stella noticed their glances and asked,
“Alice, do you know where your classmates are?”
Alice, who was getting drowsy and resting on Leo’s body blinked her eyes repeatedly to keep herself awake and asked,
“Huh? Who?”
“Zane, Gabriel, and Richard.” Miss Stella said but Alice was honestly lost. Who were they?
“Alice,” Damian leaned in and whispered. “They’re the guys who were bullying me?”
“Oh, them? They must still be hanging from a tree or something.” Alice answered and yawned. “But they should’ve been able to get down by now, I don’t know. They might still be there.” Miss Stella frowned.
“Alice? Please, explain yourself. Why are your classmates hanging from a tree? Did you do that?”
Alice paused and gazed at Miss Stella intently.
“They were bullying Damian,” she said, and judging by her gaze, Miss Stella could tell something else had gone down while they were in that meeting. She sighed.
“Did you all see that?” She asked and they nodded. Well, at least no one died, right? “Goodness, you kids, honestly.”
“They honestly should’ve seen that coming,” Fae said. “They know Damian is Alice’s friend but they still went to pick a fight with him.”
“They were just jealous that Damian suddenly became more handsome and taller. Bunch of losers.” Maki said.
“I’m glad Alice taught them a lesson. With this, you guys should think twice before getting jealous of your fellow guys’ progress.” Steph added, making an annoyed face.
“And what’s that supposed to mean?” One of the guys in the class asked.
“Oh? I said what I said.” Steph said. “If it bothers you then you’re probably one of the people I’m referring to. Dumbass.”
Her words enraged the guy and he stood up, his hair catching flames as he slammed his fist on his desk,
“Let me hear you one more time, bitch!”
But what met him was a bucket of water, putting out the flames on his head and soaking him thoroughly.
“Tony,” Miss Stella called with a stiff smile as she placed down her bucket. “What’s your first offense?”

The flaming-haired guy lowered his head as the rest of the class laughed at him.
“Raising my voice in your presence,” he answered, clenching his fists.
“Second offense?” She folded her arms.
“Using my powers in your presence.”
“And third offense?” She asked but he did not respond right away. “Come on, we don’t got all day. If I mention your offense, there’s going to be a penalty,”
“Using foul language, ma’am.” He bowed his head. “I apologize.”
Alice was impressed. No wonder Miss Stella was in charge of the most powerful class. She could stand her own so well.
“I told you, kids, if you’re going to start acting like unrestrained mutts, I’m ready to shape you into restrained humans.” She pulled up her sleeves. “Now, apologize to Stephanie for using such foul language on her.”
Tony, with a disgruntled expression and full of reluctance, apologized,
“Sorry,”
Steph felt proud, smirking in victory but Miss Stella said,
“Stephanie, stand up and apologize as well.” Steph flinched. “I didn’t pour you a bucket of water because you didn’t suddenly catch fire but it doesn’t mean you’re in the right. You use a foul language.”
Steph pouted her lips and stood up to apologize regardless.
“Sorry,”
“Now,” Miss Stella smiled cheerfully. “Shake hands on it.”
They reluctantly closed the distance and shook each other’s hands before going back to their seats.
Miss Stella exhaled and decided to address the other issue before sending her kids home.
“As for what happened today, I know you all have a lot of questions to ask but I’ll first like to address something. Alice,” she called and Alice raised her head. “Stand up for a moment,”
Alice got up to her feet, wondering what Miss Stella wanted to do.
“Alice is a student, and a girl around the same age as most of you since this class isn’t exactly designated by age.” Miss Stella began. “And just like any of you, she has this teenage personality where she would want to get rid of anything she hates and would like to get anything she likes. You all have that, right?”
They nodded, though not in rhythm.
“Good, I’m glad you all have a bit of understanding. So, I’ll continue. For Alice, she didn’t grow up in homes like the rest of you did,” she said and Alice’s eyebrows furrowed. Wait, what was going on? “I won’t go into much detail since I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable but know that she has just as much right to have whatever she likes, just like the rest of you. The freedom of a child, and the peace that comes with it… She deserves all that, even though she never enjoyed any of them growing up. Do you know why?”
“Because she’s so powerful?” Fae answered, raising her hand but Miss Stella shook her head.
“No, she was never always powerful. She was always just an ordinary and simple girl who had nothing. Who wanted nothing but to fill her stomach and sleep peacefully, hoping to see another day. She…” Miss Stella paused. Her heart was heavy all of a sudden.
Just thinking of what Alice had to go through made her heartbreak. She wanted to say as little as possible and get them to understand Alice better.
She just wanted to bring the atmosphere back to how it used to be before they found out what Alice was capable of. She didn’t want the kids to live in fear when around her after seeing what she did in the fields. She wasn’t a murderer so they didn’t need to be weary.
Sure, Alice wouldn’t mind if they changed their attitude up a notch and even gossiped behind her back, giving her names but… as her teacher, it would worry her a lot.
“What you need to know is that Alice is–”
“Miss Stella,” Alice called, interrupting her and she found Alice smiling like everything was okay, which broke her heart even more.
That sweet little delicate child. Just what would it take for her to be given the peace and normal life she had always craved?
“Will you let me say it? I’ll say everything I’m comfortable with and leave the part I’m not comfortable with. And don’t worry, I don’t mind sharing my story.”
Miss Stella looked Alice in the eye, her blue eyes sparkling with sympathy and pity. Such a sweet innocent child. The world was far too cruel to her.
This power… It looked like she deserved it more than anyone else out there. Because, with this power, she could finally leave the life that she could only ever reach her hands towards, only imagine and dream.
“Sure, go ahead.” Miss Stella said, bowing her head in surrender and Alice walked up to the front.
“Alright, I’d like to reintroduce myself again.” She said. “I’m sure there’s been a lot of confusing questions, and after what you all saw, you think I’ve been deceiving you guys about being an A-class, but well, I had no choice.” She chuckled and looked up at them.
They all stared at her intently, waiting for her words.
“It couldn’t be helped since I’m quite popular, and the aim of my coming to this school was to live a normal and peaceful life.” She said. “But I guess I’ve crumbled that with my own hands. So, I’ll let you in on who I am.” She slowly reached for her glasses. “My name is Alice Reinhart.” She said, finally taking off her glasses and smiling, her full set of teeth on display. “A normal girl with a big appetite. Pleased to meet you.”
