Chapter 352: I-I drew some more
Alice’s eyes literally sparkled as she saw what Nicholas had to show her.
It was a drawing… Of her in her badass moment. Wait, when did he even get to draw it when everyone was shriveled with chills and fear?
He was able to copy her aura so well too, making sure that the edges were sharper than knives and more ferocious than flames.
And she stood in the middle of her own raging aura with eyes that could kill.
“How do you even do this? This is a pure masterpiece,” Alice complimented, staring at the drawing from all angles. “You’re a genius,”
Nicholas blushed at her compliment with his head slightly bowed and his hand on his neck.
“It’s… It’s no–”
“You can’t say it’s nothing,” Leo suddenly said. He, too, was impressed, and judging by how he was still looking at the drawing, he was more than impressed. “This is very impressive, Nicholas. And it didn’t take you a whole day to draw. When did you do it?”
Nicholas felt even more embarrassed by the compliments now that Leo, who was usually quiet, had spoken as well.
“A-after… A-after the teacher and trainers left I… I sat at the back and d-drew it.” He stuttered.
Once Nicholas had a vivid image of what he wanted to draw in his heart and an incredible lasting impression, he could put it down in drawing anytime but because it was so inspiring, he would want to draw it as soon as he could and as fast too.
He would not let the excitement and inspiration fade even a little.
And even when he had successfully drawn all that there was to it, the excitement was still there. It burned in his heart like a…
“A blooming rose,” Alice suddenly said and Nicholas raised his head.
“W-what?”
“You know previously I said the mana around your heart was so beautiful because it looked like a burning rose? A burning rose of passion, I’d say,” she said and he nodded. How could he forget when she said such beautiful words to him. “Well, right now, instead of burning, that rose is blooming, Nicholas,” she smiled at him. “You must be very happy.”
Nicholas’ face flushed so he bowed his head, scared that he would embarrass himself.
She always knew how to say the nicest and sweetest things to him. Even if he didn’t say anything, she already had him figured out.
Alice laughed, seeing him crouch like that, and pointed out to Leo.
“Look at him crouching, isn’t he cute? He’s blushing at a compliment,”
“Hm, why does that sound familiar?” Leo asked, darting his eyes away and Alice’s eyes raged.
“Say that again, punk.”
He was probably referring to the time she blushed for the first time when Devon called her pretty.
He really knew how to ruin the moment, didn’t he?
Damian stared at the drawing and then at Nicholas. He was definitely another person who admired Alice from the depth of his heart.
To think he would have such a talent that made Alice even more happy. Here was someone who admired her but could at least do something to make her happy or feel good.
He didn’t have any talents like drawing to lighten Alice’s mood, and he couldn’t even help Alice in a real fight even if he wanted to because he was uselessly weak and not exactly a combatant.
Just what could be done to help out?
“I-I drew some more,” Nicholas said, “Just turn to the next page,”
Damian did just that and they all looked to see what he had drawn next. It was a drawing of Alice standing face to face with Leo, her aura raging like a storm while he held no fear and just stood in front of her.

The atmosphere around him was so calm. It looked like Nicholas was trying to portray the calmness Leo always had and how he resolved this issue with just words. And that calmness managed to reach Alice, allowing her to let go of her anger, even if it was reluctantly.
“Look, Leo, you basically look like the prince that saved the day over here,” Alice said over a jesting snicker.
“Well, I did save you from bloodying your hands in school,” Leo said. “Your reins are getting excessively loose this day,”
Alice’s eyes twitched as soon as he said that and she glared at him.
“Did you just call me a dog?”
There was a stiff silence immediately after. Neither of them said a word and judging by past experiences, Damian felt they were going to get serious at any moment.
So, would they fight and destroy the class? He gulped and looked around. Everyone was gone except Clarissa who looked to be studying a little distance away from them.
Truthfully, she was just waiting for her chance to approach Alice and had missed it when Nicholas called out first.
She was probably embarrassed to do or say what she had in mind with another present so she pretended to be studying till they were done.
At this point, after listening to their conversations and having the urge to want to look at the drawings as well, given how much they had been praised, she was also suffering from the stuffed atmosphere that had befallen them.
Leo raised his hand and then flicked Alice’s forehead.
“Dogs aren’t the only creatures out there. You’re more of a cat, stupid.” He said so carelessly that Alice’s heart lightened up. “You’re not a dog.”
‘Yeah, I’m not.’
Her days of being a dog were over, but even now, she got likened to it; her blood would twist in her veins. It made her uncomfortable.
Well, she didn’t hate dogs but she hated that she had literally served as one in Big Stach’s den.
Alice sighed but did not let things go like that. She kicked Leo’s leg and said over a whistle,
“An eye for an eye.”
Leo grunted. The pain of being kicked rapidly spread towards his head, where his brain was supposed to be and that made the sensation feel even much worse.
‘Is this how it feels like to have a broken bone?’ he wondered but Alice only laughed away.
Damian and Nicholas watched this with a little worry.
Was this going to be okay?
Damian looked at the drawing again and noticed that after that drawing was a drawing of him punching the guy who had touched Alice’s snacks.
His eyes widened.
Wait, what was this large piece of evidence doing here?
With this, Alice would see that he had been so violent. Nicholas had captured the expression on his face so well too.
“Wait, were you there when this happened?” Damian asked in whispers.
“Ah, yes,” Nicholas answered, tapping the tip of his fingers together nervously. “I saw it briefly but the image was immediately engraved in my mind. You…” He raised his head and looked at Alice who was yapping with Leo. “…did that because they touched what you got for Alice, right? I felt your determination and your anger but I was also envious,”
“Envious?” Damian tilted his head slightly. What was there to be envious about? He was the one with the amazing drawing skills and…
“I wish I could also get angry like that if anyone tried to mess with Alice.” He said and Damian felt his words stuck in his throat.
He was just about to say there was nothing to be envious about but Nicholas gave him a solid reason right away.
“I wish I could be as close to her as you are but it’s all just my wishful thinking and nothing more. I’m already satisfied that she let me draw her and watch her from afar,” he smiled, his cheek flushing red. “So, I won’t ask for any more than this.”
At this point, Leo actually realized just how lucky he was to be next to Alice. Even when he did not do anything to assist, amuse, or help her, she still kept him close by and never stopped showing how much she cared for him.
Though part of the reason could be because Devon had left him in her care, the rest was to her own interest.
He was so lucky indeed.
“Hey, what are you two talking about?” Alice asked and Damian instinctively closed the drawing, earning a questioning gaze from her.
“Well, it’s nothing.” Damian said.
He just remembered that Alice liked the cute and innocent side of him better, so he wondered what she would do if she suddenly saw his violent side? He got chills just thinking about it.
‘Alice is someone who has seen the black-and-white side of this world; she suffered…’ he thought of her words. ‘…to the extent that I could never understand. But I’m glad that despite all of that, she still has a smile on her cheeks. I think… Things are better this way.’
