Chapter 360: Are you going to wake her up?
They returned earlier than Leo had expected but well, he couldn’t expect less from an S-class such as Devon.

He was never weak to begin with and the monsters in the red zone should be a piece of cake to him.

Just like butchering real livestock, Leo got his hands dirty and skinned the red wolf of its skin right on the kitchen counter, before cutting its flesh into bits.

The kitchen was a bloody mess by the time he was done but he wasn’t concerned about that. They could just clean up after he was done.

Thankfully, the monster wasn’t infected with demon blood so it was pretty much edible after getting rid of the poison that humans could not consume.

Leo had only asked for a chunk but since they got him the entire red wolf, he decided to leave the rest in the refrigerator for another time when he needed to appease Alice.

Mark and Devon helped out with the washing and necessary cutting that Leo left to them, but after all of it was done, they still hadn’t seen any special magic Leo planned on using to extract the poison that the monster had.

“Alright, your job here is done.” Leo said, pushing them out of the kitchen. “This part no longer concerns you.” He said and shut them out for the kitchen.

Mark and Devon stared at the empty space in silence. They were perplexed.

They were really looking forward to seeing the mysterious magic but it was too bad.

“I’ll head out for a bit,” Devon said to Mark. “I’ll come back because I’m curious how this will end.”

“Alright,” Mark nodded and watched Devon disappear from that position. Once he was gone, Mark exhaled.

He looked at his hands and then clenched them. Leo’s words imprinted deeply on him. He needed to work hard to be of use to Alice. He couldn’t confine himself to the kitchen forever.

Maybe… He should try going into a gate one of these days.

‘Let’s do that after this week.’ he thought.

Since the sports event was also important, he planned to be there all the way.

Leo finally came out of the kitchen. The aroma from the grilled meat escaped the kitchen and robbed the living room of its refreshing oxygen.

It hit Mark’s nose and subconsciously, he salivated. He wasn’t one to look forward to food but there was something about the meat that got him excited.

Would he be able to take a bite? Maybe then would he be able to carve away his curiosity.

“You want a bite?” Leo asked Mark who blinked his eyes, confused since he had not said his thoughts out loud.

‘Did he read my mind again?’ he wondered but Leo shook his head and said,

“You must be wondering if I’m reading your mind. But I don’t need to read your mind to know that you’re curious about the taste.” Leo started heading for the stairs.

“Are you going to wake her up?” Mark asked but Leo shook his head.

“Usually, she would’ve gotten a whiff of the aroma and rushed down but I stopped that from happening.” He said and stopped at the top of the stairs. “I blocked all sound and smell from entering her room so she could keep sleeping soundly. I’ll go wake her up now but she’ll only get down after taking her bath. So, in the meantime, please prepare some healthy side dishes.”

With that, he turned around and left.

Mark nodded, understanding Leo’s intentions, and went to the kitchen. His first thoughts were to clean up the blood and everything else they missed while Leo was preparing the meat but when he got there, to his shock, it was sparkling clean.

Leo had cleaned up the kitchen so fast and…

On top of the counter were two large trays of freshly grilled, and roasted monster meat.

The delicious and salivating aroma was coming from that counter. The scent wasn’t the only thing that made one salivate. Just look at how he presented the meat.

They looked so juicy and hefty. Did he use any syrup because it looked like he did, and that was why the meat kept glowing, making it impossible to risk sinking your teeth into that big fat lump of meat?

Mark gulped and shook his head.

This was no time to be salivating. The meat looked so great that even an Awakened who didn’t care for food was curious about its taste, but it was for Alice.

So, unless Alice offered to give him a piece, he would not take it.

He gulped once more and turned away from the sparkling lump of meat.

‘Let’s focus on preparing the side dishes.’ he thought and got to work.

Meanwhile, Leo went up to Alice’s room, opened the door, and closed it to find her still napping.

‘It’s late.’ Leo thought. ‘She should take a bath, eat, and then go back to sleep.’ he went towards her and started taking off her clothes one after the other. ‘Thankfully, this isn’t her first time taking monster meat so she won’t have excessive energy intake that will cause her to sleep for days.’

He succeeded in taking off her shirt and then sighed. He should’ve just woken her up and not this. She wasn’t the type but if someone else saw him doing this, they’d take him for a pervert.

“Alice,” he called but she was as dead as a plank.

Thanks to reading her awareness, she was able to tell if there was someone in her room even if she was deep in sleep, but this time, maybe it was because the person in the room was Leo, but she wasn’t moving an inch.

After all, she felt the most comfortable when Leo was next to her.

Leo sighed and carried her towards the bathroom, dropped her in the tub, and then dragged his sleeves up.

(He already changed from his sportswear to his usual white shirt when he was in the living room with a snap of his finger)

Leo adjusted the temperature of the water on the shower head by checking it on his own skin. At first, he tried it without turning on the cold water, so he was showered with hot water, which was enough to scald his skin, but he didn’t feel it.
