Chapter 364: Oh, he hasn’t come down yet
“Are you fucking kidding me?! I passed out?!” Alice yelled as she woke up the next morning to find Miss Stella in the room with her. “My meat. I didn’t get to eat my meat.”
“You can worry about that after you take your bath.” Miss Stella said and Alice sighed, watching her leave the room.
She was confused and a bit disoriented. Plus, her stomach was empty.
Last night, she went down to have dinner and heard from Mark that Leo had prepared monster meat. She was so excited that it was monster meat but then her heart started aching, her mind became fuzzy, and a bunch of unnecessary thoughts clouded her thinking.
She was suddenly overwhelmed.
It was like someone had released a series of recorded tapes to try to overwrite her own process of thinking.
It was dark and cold and… She shivered… Lonely.
It was scary as well as if she had been isolated from the world and had been forsaken. Was that what they aimed for?
That energy… It was demonic energy, wasn’t it?
She didn’t need Leo to explain it to her. The demonic energy was trying to use her insecurity to try and overwhelm her thinking and swallow her whole. Was that it?
“Aish,” she scratched her hair violently like a mad woman. She was confused. She couldn’t even clearly remember what had happened and how she ended up passing out.
The thought of Leo suddenly disappearing from her life had fueled the whole thing.
She shouldn’t have had that thought to begin with. Leo would never leave so abruptly. He wasn’t that kind of person.
“Besides,” she started getting down from her bed. “…he’d be too worried about me slacking off and leaving the world to burn so he can’t leave yet while the world is still in danger.”
Yes, if she just held on to that mindset, then she knew there was no way Leo would suddenly leave her.
There was just too much to be done.
Alice got to the bathroom, took her bath, and got out. She quickly dressed up in her sportswear, hoping to go down and find Leo preparing breakfast with Mark as usual.
But when she got down, she found Miss Stella and Mark but no Leo. What was going on? Where was Leo?
“Alice,” Mark called, walking up to her and he hugged her. “Are you okay?” He asked and she looked at the concern in his eyes.
Ah, that’s right. He was there when she was having a breakdown so he must’ve been really worried.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” She answered. “Sorry for making you worry.”
“I’m just glad you’re back to normal. You really scared me.” He said and she patted his face gently.
“Sorry.” She smiled reassuringly. “I don’t know what came over me but it’s over now. But do you know how I passed out? I don’t remember much.” She said and he darted his eyes away at once.
The guilt pricked him like a needle. It wasn’t like it was the first time they were doing something like that but just confessing up front that he kissed her to calm her down was somewhat embarrassing.
“You must’ve exhausted your energy,” he said to her and she nodded.
“I see.”
He sighed in relief since she bought it so easily. But then he found her glancing around and asked,
“What’s wrong?”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just…” She glanced at the back. “…haven’t seen Leo yet.”
“Oh, he hasn’t come down yet.” Mark answered. “I thought he might still be recharging. He did a lot of work last night preparing the monster meat so he probably used up a lot of his energy.”

“Oh,” Alice exclaimed. ‘Come to think of it, the last time he prepared monster meat was when we were in the dungeon. He possessed me while I was unconscious, but he did use a lot of energy so…’
Alice nodded and muttered,
“I worried for nothing.”
Miss Stella walked in through the front door and said,
“I’m sorry but we have to get to school early today,” she looked at Alice. “So, you won’t have the leisure of sitting to enjoy your meal.”
“Awn, but I really wanted to savor the flavor of the meat.” Alice said, her mouth salivating once more.
Just the thought of it made her lose her bearing. She wanted to dig in as soon as possible.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” Mark snapped his fingers. “Alice, I’m sorry but there’s something Leo told me in passing. He said if anything happened and you didn’t eat this last night, I shouldn’t let you eat the meat in the morning.”
“What?!” Alice snapped in shock.
“He said that even if you don’t sleep for days, monster meat was still monster meat, so you’d still need to sleep.” Mark said, and Miss Stella looked at them, shocked.
“You prepared monster meat? That’s not edible.” She said, looking alarmed.
“Leo made it edible.” Mark said which convinced her right away.
“Oh, but where is Leo?”
“He used too much energy so he’s recharging.” Alice grumbled. Her eyes were on Mark, piercing through him. “I can’t accept this.”
“It’s what he asked me to do.” Mark said but Alice folded her arms and asked,
“Since when did you take orders from Leo?”
Mark darted his eyes away. It wasn’t that he was taking orders, he just had her best interest at heart. If she ate to her fill, she would fall asleep and probably wake up around the evening but since she had to go to school, she should probably not eat the meat in the morning.
“I can’t accept this.” Alice stood her ground.
“He did give me something for you.” Mark said and went to the kitchen.
He came back with a little transparent sachet bag.
“I didn’t prepare breakfast and was busy beating up everything that we didn’t get to eat last night.” Mark said. “But since I had this, I wasn’t worried.” He stretched the sachet bag towards her.
‘So, he didn’t plan to feed me the meat in the morning or anything for that matter. No wonder I don’t see anything on the table.’ Alice said, looking at the empty dinner table. She sighed and took what he was offering her. “What’s this?”
“Jerky.” Miss Stella suddenly answered, pressing her body to Alice’s, but Alice could feel her boobs more than her weight.
‘Does she plan to bury me with her melons today?’ Alice wondered. ‘They’re still so big and soft.’
“Alice,” Mark called and she looked at him with a blank expression.
They were all her enemies now since they refused to give her the one thing she had been longing for.
‘But I guess it’s my fault for passing out. Damn my intrusive thoughts.’ Alice thought and subconsciously opened the bag only for her nose to be hit by the same fragrance as the monster meat she didn’t get to eat.
Her eyes widened and she looked at Mark,
“This is…”
“Leo made jerky with some of the monster meat just in case you complained. He said to be more thorough than careless when dealing with you, and now I see why.”
