Chapter 369: Why did you ask me to stop the car?
Devon arrived a little late because he had to drop Damian off and then rush back to the guild to take care of a few things.
Well, he kind of just teleported back to the guild and then when he was done, teleported back to the school, inside his car.
He checked his face in the mirror to make sure he looked very presentable before coming out.
By that time, the students were already on the field, so he sneaked his way to Miss Stella and asked for the necessary information before heading to the class he would be training.
Since Damian was in the same agility class, he was glad that he could watch over his brother more closely and was even proud that Damian decided to be quite active during training.
He must’ve been inspired, were his thoughts.
But aside from that, he wanted to see Alice. He wondered what weapon she would use, but once he glanced towards the weaponry class, he found her sitting comfortably on a chair while her mates were doing their best to get a high school in order to be among those who would participate in the sports event on Friday.
She looks unbothered. Highly unbothered and even yawned.
Did she get disqualified already, or was she simply lacking interest in all of it? He would bet on the latter.
Ah, he couldn’t expect anything less from the likes of her. She just did whatever she wanted.
But it was a shame. He wanted to see her shine.
At the end of the day (the end of training), all teams had been picked. So, the following days up until Friday would follow with those teams being specifically trained for the competition they would face.
Alice had actually decided to forget about using the now and arrow since she would only end up destroying the arena on that day, and instead, decided to pick up the sword.
It wasn’t like she had ever used a sword to fight before, and even if she did, it would’ve been used to slaughter monsters and nothing more.
It was very different from learning the proper use of a sword, the basis, as well as one’s body formation when fighting against a fellow human.
So, it was a rather difficult weapon to pick.
“I’m sure I can handle it.” Alice said, looking confident, but in fact, she just wanted to pick up something she could easily lose and then sit on the side like everyone else.
Since they didn’t want her to be exempted at all costs, she would just screw them over.
It wasn’t like the world would end if she lost one match, right?
However, her well-thought-out plan did not take into consideration the enthusiastic men who would do absolutely anything and everything for her.
Devon, who heard Alice had picked up a sword, decided to train her since she admitted it would be her first time.
He was going to train her to perfection in their spare time for the remaining two days they had before the sports day.
“Ah, I dug my own grave.” Alice mumbled as she sat lifelessly at the back of Mark’s car.
“Oh, don’t be like that.” Mark said. “How else would you learn the sword if not from an expert?”
“I wasn’t planning to learn at all.” Alice mumbled with pouted lips. “Why can’t they leave me alone?”
Though Mark had already seen Devon as a competition in the race to win Alice’s attention and affection, he could not deny that during this circumstance, he was the best fit to put Alice in shape.
Alice, slumped on the back of her seat suddenly felt something.
“Hey, Mark, stop the car for a moment.” She said and Mark stopped before asking questions.
“Why did you ask me to stop the car?” He asked, turning to look at her but she was already out of the car.
Alice got out of the car as soon as the car stopped and then took out her phone as if she were trying to make a call.

“Alice, what’s wrong?” Mark asked but Alice shook her head and said,
“Well, nothing grand. Just give me a minute, I’ll be back.” She said.
Someone was watching her. And they weren’t just watching her, they were trying to kill her. But as she said, it was nothing grand.
“This better be worth my time.” She exclaimed as she looked up and suddenly disappeared from the spot she was standing on.
It would look like she had teleported, but she had simply run, leaving nothing but a circle of dust on the ground where she had stood.
She did not know who it was or what they wanted, but so long they bared their fangs at her, then they were the enemy.
The person whose murderous intent had slipped out by accident was crouching on top of a tall building about 20km away from where Mark had stopped the car. It was quite far but they needed to be as far away, hoping Alice would not sense their presence and retaliate.
With that distance, they were sure to get a good shot at Alice’s head.
They were aiming at Alice with a mana-powered sniper, but all of a sudden, she had disappeared, and they wondered where she had gone.
But all of a sudden, Alice was right next to him as if she had appeared right next to them.
“Gotcha!”
They greatly underestimated Alice.
Alice kicked their snipper out of their hands and into the air before kicking their face to make sure they didn’t take out a weapon and make things harder for themselves.
Because once they took out a weapon, she would have no choice but to use it against them. Or worse, she would take out her own weapon and things could get ugly.
“Wow, I can’t believe you were aiming at me from such a distance.” Alice said, looking at the assassin as he struggled on the floor. “And from way high up here, at that. You must be skilled.” She chuckled. “But it’s too bad. You could’ve at least gotten a chance to pull the trigger, if only you didn’t let your murderous intent slip.” She grinned.
