Chapter 377: Well, do I have a choice?
It was strange how a lot of important personnel and powerful awakeneds were present at this high school sports events for awakeneds.
Sure, it was for awakeneds but for them to put this much attention, it felt like they were hoping for a scouting event. So many students vowed to give it their best so that they could be recognized for their talent.
But little did they know that all these people were here to watch none other than Alice’s performance. But if the others catch their eye, they could scout them in hopes of bringing them in once they graduate from school.
“So, when is my turn again?” Alice asked, adjusting the wrist of her suit. Leo turned to her.
Hm, weren’t these suits a bit too fitted? He wondered.
Alice already looked like she came here solely to charm the men out of their seats, so adding her body proportions would just be…
“Wear your jacket,” Leo said and did the honor of taking it out.
“Huh? Why?”
“It’s a bit cold.” He said and without asking further, she wore it. She felt too lazy to even want to know what he was thinking. She just wanted her turn to be done and over with.
“Alice,” Alice heard Diane’s voice but before she could turn around, Diane had already jumped on her from behind. “Long time not see, partner.” She grinned.
“Yeah, long time no…ugh, you’re strangling me.”
“Come on, what’s become of the great Alice that she easily gets strangled by a nobody like me?” She teased and Alice yawned.
“It’s not that. I just feel too tired to put up any defense so yeah, you’re strangling me.” Alice said, and Diane let go of her before patting her violently on the back.
“You look good,” Diane said, taking a look at her suit. Each school got one and they were all black. But it was easy to differentiate who was from which school with the stripes that came with the black suit.
Alice’s school suit had blue stripes while Diane’s had red stripes.
“You’re even wearing a matching jacket. Isn’t that that super dope jacket from before?” Diane asked, turning round her and observing. “Is that allowed?”
“They can take it up with me if they’ve got a problem.” Alice said and then yawned. “It’s a bit cold.”
“Since when did Awakeneds feel cold?” Diane scoffed.
“Since just now,” Alice said whilst shaking her head tiredly, and then once more, she yawned.
“What’s this? Did you burn the midnight candle and work hard all night?” Diane regarded that as a tease, but Alice shook her head.
She was still wondering why she felt so tired, sleepy, and lazy, and then she yawned again.
“Damn, you’re serious.” Diane said, seeing Alice yawn four times already. “What did you do? Are you sure you’re in good shape to go out there and fight?”
“Well, do I have a choice? But I think I’m good.” She simply dropped her back, falling into Leo’s arms fluidly. “See? If I fall, Leo will definitely catch me.”
“Hm, so this is ‘the’ Leo, huh?” Diane asked, her eyes twinkling with fresh gossip as she scanned him. He looked quite fit. Very fit.
But of course, not as fit as her boyfriend.
“Why don’t you introduce us? I’ve heard so much about him from you that it feels like I know him already.”
Leo looked at Diane and then nodded his head,
“Nice to meet you. I’m Leo.” He said with a straight face. “And I know a lot about you too. So, let’s get along in the future.”
“Wow, he’s also a man with a nice introduction.” Diane was certainly all for it. Though she still didn’t know how he was able to change Alice so much, she was glad Alice had not exaggerated the part of him taking care of her as though she were an egg.
Just look at how careful he was handling her.

“Oh, it seems my school’s organizing themselves.” Diane said. “I’m just a bystander, in case you were wondering. Joining up in clapping ovation, that’s all.” She laughed, which brought a smile to Alice’s lips.
“Hurry up and get out of here, you show off.” She said and Diane gleamed on her way out.
She was so lively.
“Alice, do you know of the seven deadly sins?” Leo suddenly asked out of nowhere and she looked up at him.
“Am I supposed to know them?” She asked and he nodded.
“I’ve been thinking for a while.”
“How long is a while?”
“A month.” He put her back on her feet and stretched out the wrinkles on her jacket. “You were exhibiting a lot of characteristics in excess that were similar to the seven deadly sins in your tales. At first, I thought you were just being lazy and coveting the things that you never had, but when I took a deeper approach to it, I noticed you have exhibited almost all of these sins.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t quite follow.” Alice said, sitting on the floor. “Will you break it down for me? What are the seven deadly sins?”
“I’ll list the sins for you. The sins are Greed, gluttony, pride, envy, lust, wrath, and sloth. You had greed eating at your heart when we entered the dungeon, wanting to possess as much money as you could. It was as if nothing was ever enough and that was mostly all you cared about, even before you met me.”
Alice darted her eyes away in guilt. Life was hard. What did he expect her to think of?
“Then, there was gluttony. But I believe I’m partly to blame for this since you have come to depend on energy given from your meals, and nothing is ever enough.”
“Good you know,”
“The sin of lust. It’s not gotten serious but thanks to the demon Lilith, it’s taking effect slowly in your life. If it gets worse than this, I don’t know how I’ll stop you.”
“Why? Cause you might also fall victim?” She grinned.
“That’s not even funny, Alice. It’ll be a problem if it gets that strong.” She said and Alice clicked her tongue. It was just a joke, he didn’t need to take it so seriously. “The sin of envy. It’s something that’s still growing in you even till now. Being less privileged made it worse.”
“I’m envious by nature cause I didn’t have anything. Not a big deal, I think.” Alice said and he stared at her, shaking his head before continuing.
“Next is the sin of wrath. You really took that one personally when you let your emotions take over you, and you destroyed everything you didn’t like.” Leo explained. “And yes, I’m talking about the day your actions got named a terrorist attack.”
Alice gulped but her back was droopy, but he held her and said,
“And now you’re exhibiting the sin of Sloth. You’ve always been a lazy one, but this is especially serious today.”
“So, you believe I’m exhibiting the sin of Sloth, that’s why I feel like my eyelids don’t want to stay open?”
“Yes.” Leo answered. “It’s the only answer I can think of according to my observation.”
Alice yawned.
“That so?”
“The only sin you have yet to exhibit is pride. And I’m thinking that will come later as well since Sloth caught up to you before you even realized it.” He said and sighed. “But what I don’t understand is why you’re exhibiting the traits of the seven deadly sins. It’s as if you’ve been cursed from a long time ago.”
