Chapter 380: I’m the one who gave her the advice
The second round and third rounds ended with Clarissa’s flawless victory. No matter how the others tried to catch up to her, the gap only kept widening.
And she didn’t even need to use her ice attribute to help her win. All she did was use a bit of her mana with great concentration.
This was enough to note her down to be a genius.
“For the first event, Clarissa, who is representing ‘home,’ wins.” The announcement came in.
The crowd cheered and as Clarissa started walking out of the arena, she glanced around for where Alice was sitting and then spotted Leo.
Since Leo was there, Alice would be there as well for sure, so she started walking over there.
Seeing Clarissa approaching, Leo woke Alice and said,
“She’s coming this way. I think she wants you to compliment her.”
Alice opened her eyes and Leo wiped the drool on her mouth with a handkerchief.
“Seriously,” he exclaimed.
Luckily, Alice hadn’t fallen deeply into sleep yet so she was able to wake up and act like she had been awake the whole time.
Clarissa stood in front of her with everyone staring at her and cheering at her victory. But she was focused on the girl who sat on the third row of the bleachers.
Then, she said,
“I took the first win.”
That was all she said but the look in her eyes said it all. She was waiting to be praised by the one she looked up to.
“That’s not news,” Alice said, slightly stretching her arms. “I’m the one you’re trying to beat. If you had let those weaklings beat you then it would’ve been a shame.” She said and smirked. “I never doubted your skills.”
Clarissa blushed hard and then looked down.
“Just you wait,” she clenched her fists and started trembling in excitement. “I’ll make sure to beat you so I’ll definitely get stronger.” With that, she ran out of there while trying to hide her blushing face.
“Wow, look at her go.” Alice exclaimed and then yawned.
“I’m the one who gave her the advice, yet you’re the one she comes to meet when she takes the win.” Leo said and Alice snickered.
“You jealous?”
“Please, don’t pair me with something so petty.” He said and she clicked her tongue.
“You’re always no fun.”
“Seems like you’ve got yourself a fan,” Diane said, and Alice raised her head to smile at Diane, who was sitting just above her. “And she’s cute too.”
“Very. You should see her when she’s in denial.” Alice said and they both laughed.
Though Diane’s school was seated close to Alice’s school, they were not that close by. And yet, Diane chose to come sit here where she could find Alice.
It made them think she was cheering for Alice’s school rather than her own but she couldn’t be bothered to clear up the misunderstanding.
It wasn’t like she would get expelled for doing this.
“The next event will be the sword fight.” The announcement came in and Alice stood up.
“Seems like it’s my turn.” She said and yawned, “I hope I’m first.”

“Break an arm,” Diane cheered and Alice snickered.
“It’s not going to be mine, though,” she said as she smirked and perked up her glasses. “They’re just lucky I’m in Sloth mode right now.”
Diane watched her and then turned to Leo.
“She’s not really going to break someone’s arm, right?” She asked but Leo shrugged.
“Who knows?”
She was as unpredictable as they come.
Since the arena was not too far from the bleachers and Leo had maximized the distance he could stay away from Alice, he did not need to follow her.
But for some reason, he felt he needed to follow her.
He was having a weird feeling for some time now. Maybe it had to do with this match.
Diane saw Leo following after Alice and thought he was going to fight as well so she yelled,
“You guys, go easy on them,”
Leo simply waved and she sighed. So far so good.
The order of the sword fight would be a duel between two people from different schools with two people representing each school.
The fighting order was not yet decided. But to make things fair, numbers were written on a piece of paper and put in a box. They had to rely on their luck when picking the number in which they would enter the arena.
“Please, let me go first so I can get this over with.” Alice prayed softly as she dipped her hand into the box.
She took out a paper and then opened it. Her eyes lit up to see she picked number one who was paired with number three.
“Gosh, my luck stats must be high,” she exclaimed. “Who’s number three? Who am I fighting with first?” Alice started looking around when her eyes fell on Elizabeth.
Her mood immediately turned sour and her eyebrows dropped as she realized why the air had been so foul for a while.
Someone as sour as lemons was there, her eyes tainted with jealousy and rage, glaring daggers at her.
And the foil stench wasn’t coming from just Elizabeth, there was someone else.
That person standing beside her… The guy whose skin was pale and wearing a pair of thick dark shades.
Sure, everyone had their own style of showing off arrogance but this guy wasn’t showing off arrogance. He was hiding something behind those thick shades.
This guy… Her nose perked up in the air and she furrowed even more. He reeked of demon.
‘So, she couldn’t fight me on her own so she got the devil to back her up.’ Alice thought, the tio of her tongue feeling bitter. ‘How distasteful.’
“Now I know where that uneasiness was coming from.” Leo said and she turned to stare at him.
He was leaning on the side, watching from a close distance than those who were sitting at the bleachers.
*Take care, Alice. They’re probably planning to pull a trick.*
‘It’s honestly too bad I can’t take him down right now. Since there’s no evidence yet, anyone will conclude that I attacked an innocent student before the match. And by the time they find out he was actually a demon, they’ve probably sullied my name.’
*And since when were you worried about your reputation?*
‘Since I became a student, dumbass.’ she handed the piece of paper to the officials in charge of the match presiding. ‘There’s not just the students available right now. But there are people from other guilds, the agency, the association. And I am very certain we are being watched by the whole country right now.’
*Then, simply knock him out. Once he’s taken away from treatment, I’ll take care of the rest.*
‘Sure,’ she yawned and then stretched her arms. ‘Gosh, I could really use a nap.’ she picked up her sword and stared at her reflection in it. ‘Well, let’s get this over with.’
