Chapter 382: And seriously, why do you guys always yell your attack?
Alice yawned, watching Elizabeth’s hair fly up along with her energy that was suddenly raging. Her sword got enveloped with that same energy, forming a sword aura.

She was ready to attack Alice head-on.

“It’s just a school match, so why does it seem like she’s planning to take out a country?”

The waves were dangerous but luckily, there were precautions taken. Those precautions were honestly taken because of Alice but well, it worked either way.

“I’ll make you regret looking down on me.” Elizabeth said, her eyes cackling with white lightning strokes.

“Yeah, yeah, let’s get to it. We’ve wasted too much time already.” Alice said, waving her hand simply and then yawned. “We don’t got all day, you know.”

Seeing Alice still act so haughty even at a time like this and not bothering to take a stance or even try to defend, Elizabeth got mad. She released over 80% of her aura and energy and planned to use it in this single attack and take down Alice.

If she killed Alice in the process then so be it. It was her fault for acting so nonchalantly, even when facing her enemy.

“Am I going to have to wait why longer?” Alice asked, stretching her arms. “Attack already.”

“Tch,” Elizabeth gritted her teeth and gripped the handle of her sword firmly. “Sword’s master second form,” she gradually raised her hand, leaving after images till her sword pointed to the sky in a straight line, and she yelled, “Sky-splitting slice!” She lunged towards Alice at an incredible speed, striking her blade that was raging with a white aura downward, but there was no impact.

It did not have the climatic chills that everyone hoped to feel from that strike. And since the attack literally created a gush of wind that blew up dust to cover the screen and arena, they could not see what had happened either.

‘Wait, something’s wrong.’ Elizabeth thought. ‘Why didn’t I feel any impact?’

“Seriously, what a joke?” Alice exclaimed. “Do you think you’re some main character from the Murim world or something? Sky splitting slice?”

“W-what?” Elizabeth was confused. She tried to take back her sword and retreat a few steps back but no matter how much strength she used, she could not even get her sword to budge. What was going on right now?

“And seriously, why do you guys always yell your attack? It’s as if you’re saying, ‘This attack is going to come from the top since it’s the sky-splitting slice,’ or ‘It’s going to be a very powerful attack so if you don’t dodge you’ll die for sure,’ Like, it’s so embarrassing to hear you scream your attacks.”

The dust finally cleared and everyone shook in astonishment as they saw Elizabeth’s blade under Alice’s feet. She was keeping it on the ground without much effort.

“Oh right. This is the part where I do this.” She raised her own sword and placed her blade next to Elizabeth’s neck, causing Elizabeth to gulp down hard as she stared at her reflection on the blade, as though her neck was really on the line. “It’s my win if I do this, right?”

Everyone was begging shocked. Thanks to the amount of dust Elizabeth created with her confident attack, they could not see for sure what had happened, but the attack was stopped.

It didn’t look like Alice dodged it or even defended it. She simply… Stepped on it.

No, how was she even able to step on it and not get hurt?

“Really? That powerful attack just now… She simply stepped on it and it was over? How is that possible?”

The crowd was in an uproar, trying to figure out if this was an act or something. Did these two plan to put on a show? This definitely looked unreal.

This was their own speculations but the one who had carried out the attack, the one who had been bested in no more than a second, the one who was facing defeat knew all too well that no form of trickery was carried out after the flawless execution of her sword strike.

But how? Who was this girl?

Elizabeth shook in fear. How was this possible? She was an S-class and pouring more than half of her strength, even if she was still growing, should’ve been enough to even destroy the arena, and yet… She stepped on her attack to stop it?

“I-impossible!” She muttered softly, unable to accept her defeat before raising he’d head and yelling, “This is impossible.”

“Is that so? What’s the definition of impossible again?” Alice asked, yawning once more. “It’s something along the lines of… What was it again?” She looked down at her and smirked. “Oh yes, it’s something that cannot be done.” She bent her body downwards and faced Elizabeth in close proximity, smirking at her face. “And in this case, I executed it flawlessly. So maybe… I am the impossible, hahahaha.” She laughed.

Alice planned to break Elizabeth’s ego by defeating her without even using her energy or enveloping her sword with aura. She defeated Elizabeth with sheer strength and that was her victory.

“This is the difference between you and me.” She whispered to Elizabeth and then raised her body, turning to leave the arena with a nonchalant wave. “Ciao,”

She left Elizabeth in the arena, trembling in anger and resentment, but more than that, she was trembling in fear. How could such a monster exist? She… She didn’t even have a chance at winning at all?

She lost to someone who did not even use their sword or mana. How… How could this be?

Her spirit broke.

The crowd suddenly cheered. No matter how things unfolded, it was still Alice’s victory and Elizabeth’s loss.

“Home takes the first win in the sword match.” The speaker rang and people started talking about it. They did not know how Elizabeth lost, but they were all impressed by her prowess and the kind of power she wielded.

“Tsk, tsk, the only misfortune that talented little girl has is taking Miss Alice as an enemy,” Noah exclaimed and then glanced at Adolf. “I guess we should at least be glad someone did not act out and commit murder in broad daylight; if not, the aftermath would’ve been severe.”

“Don’t speak like she’s a murderer out for blood. It’s offensive.” Adolf said. “And from the looks of it, I don’t think she plans on showing ‘them’ what they want to see.”

“Oh, so she’ll do this without using mana or aura, huh? Quite the cunning girl.” Noah said but Adolf shook her head.

“No, she’s not cunning.” Adolf said and Noah wondered what it was about then. Adolf watched Alice as she yawned and scratched her head at the side where the other sword competitors were waiting. She even got Leo to be her head rest and he smiled. How adorable. “I guess she’s just too lazy to put up a show.”
