Chapter 387: Don’t judge a necromancer by their looks
Diane and Leo stayed by Alice’s side, and though there was not much to talk about, Diane would bring up a small topic that would get them going, but they would also look out the window to watch the event going on.
And then, a few moments later Damian and Nicholas walked in.
“Ah, she’s really asleep.” Damian exclaimed as he entered the class, heading to them. “How long has it been?” He asked and Leo answered.
“About an hour,” he said and watched Damian sit down next to Alice.
“She’s really out of it. Did something happen?”
“No, she’s just in sloth mode.” Leo answered and folded his arms. “She’ll just sleep for a while more and you can talk however you like. She’s not going to wake up from a few chatter.”
“Oh, okay.” He looked at Alice. She was so cute sleeping like a baby. It was even more cute that she was not affected by the noise one bit.
“Um, hello,” Nicholas greeted with a little head bow and Leo nodded his head.
“You seem to have improved a lot.” Leo said. “Great work,”
Nicholas heard the acknowledgment and blushed.
“Th-thank you. It was thanks to your guidance.” He said. “Though I’m not yet proficient, I’m doing my best and I’m sure I can make multiple monsters with independent minds soon.”
“Whoa, is your ability ‘creation’?” Diane asked.
“You guessed it pretty easily,” Leo said to her and she grinned.
“I’m quite the perceptive individual,” she boldly claimed. “Well, I did have two options. It was either that or necromancy.”
At the mention of that, Damian flinched to no one’s notice.
“And I was going to say necromancy, given his appearance, but…”
“W-what’s wrong w-with my appearance?” He stuttered, feeling flustered, and Diane laughed.
“It’s nothing. Just with those dark eyebags and how you let your hair down, having this rather eerie atmosphere… You look like you could be king of the dead.” She said.
“Then why did you say creation rather than necromancy?” Leo asked.
“Hm, cause he same ‘make multiple monsters’, not control.” She answered with her nose proudly in the air. “I’m that smart.”
Damian clapped in awe.
“It’s impressive.”
“Hehe, thank you.” She said.
“But I don’t think you should judge a necromancer based on their looks alone,” Damian said, “I mean, there can be normal-looking people who are capable of necromancy, you know.”
“Well, that’s true.” Diane said and shrugged. “But till I see one, I’ll stand by my own belief.” She turned to Nicholas. “I don’t believe we’ve met before. I’m Diane.”
“I… I’m Nicholas,” Nicholas answered. “Nice t-to meet you.”
‘Does he naturally stutter or is he just nervous?’ Diane wondered as they shook hands. “Would you mind showing me one of your creations?” Diane asked. “I mean, if it’s okay with you. I don’t think I’ve heard of any veterans having the power of creation.”
“Well, s-sure.” Nicholas said and then took out his sketchbook. “What w-would you like t-to see?”
“Hm, how about a fire-breathing dragon?” She grinned evilly and then laughed like a villain.
“How about a puppy?” Damian suggested.

“I think a p-puppy would b-be quicker to draw, and the size is convenient too.” Nicholas said and Diane clicked her tongue.
“You’re no fun.”
Nicholas drew with the speed of light. His hand moved so fast but he got every single detail right.
“Wow, that’s so fast. Did you get a skull or something?” Diane asked.
“I did, actually. I g-got a speedup skill.”
“Like a skill that lets you draw fast so you don’t waste time when trying to use ‘creation’?” Damian asked and Nicholas nodded. “That’s so convenient.”
“Okay, the drawing’s done. What are we waiting for?” Diane asked, looking at the furry puppy drawn on the sketchbook.
“A-and now,” Nicholas picked a strand of his hair and dropped it on the drawing. It quickly disintegrated into golden light and sprinkled on the drawing.
The puppy emerged from the drawing and barked softly.
“Woof, woof,”
“It’s so cute,” Damian blushed at the puppy.
“It sure is. It looks like the real thing.” Diane said. “That’s some ability you got there.”
“T-thank you,”
“But don’t you think you’ll go bald if you keep using your hair for your creations?” Diane asked with a raised eyebrow and a grin but Nicholas got flustered and said,
“N-no, it… It won’t happen. M-my hair g-grows pretty quickly.” He said and Diane laughed.
“Is that so?”
Then, someone else entered the classroom. It was Clarissa, and following her were Maki, Steph, and Lance, who quickly got in front of her as if he was looking for a challenge.
“So this was where you all’ve been hiding.” Lance said as he saw the group at Alice’s corner and then he set his eyes on Diane. “Oh my, who are you?”
“Diane,” Diane answered. “And you are?”
Lance suddenly took a gentleman pose in front of her, swiped his hair back, and cleared his throat.
“Lance,” he said, with a proud smirk showing his sparkling white teeth, as if he was trying to impress Diane and she noticed it right away, so she said,
“Sorry to disappoint, but my boyfriend won’t appreciate you having googly eyes on me, pal.”
He flinched.
“What? Your boyfriend?”
“Oh, did you think I’d be single?” She asked. “All the more reason for me to believe you had eyes on me as soon as you walked in.” She laughed. “You’re so easy to read.”
Lance’s shoulder fell. Who was this girl? She was so smart and pretty. She was unique with a confident air and her different color hair.
She was with Alice’s ‘crew’, so did that mean she was Alice’s friend? Then if so, she was definitely not normal. He’d hate to get on her bad side.
“Please don’t take it the wrong way,” he said scratching the back of his head. “I just thought you were really pretty and wanted to get your attention.”
“Wow, thank you for the compliment.” Diane said. “Are you also friends with Alice?” She asked, but Lance gulped and glanced at Alice who looked like she was peacefully enjoying her nap.
“Well, I couldn’t say we were friends. I’m more of a classmate who greets her from time to time.”
“Oh quit it already,” Maki pushed him aside. “Hi, I’m Makayla, but everyone just calls me Maki.” She stretched her hand in absolute glee. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Diane observed her well before reaching her hand out to shake her.
“Nice to meet you too, I’m Diane.”
“And I’m Stephanie but most people call me Steph.” Steph introduced herself and instead of waiting for Diane to shake her, grabbed her hand and shook her enthusiastically. “It’s nice to meet a friend of Alice.”
“Seems like she’s having her nap, though.” Maki said, looking at Alice. “Sure, nothing fazes her but should we really be talking so loudly?”
“Come on, if Leo isn’t complaining then I’m sure it’s okay.” Steph said, shrugging her shoulders. “Right, Leo?”
Leo simply nodded, giving them the assurance.
Diane’s gaze travelled to Clarissa who stood silently behind them. Her intuitive personality kicked in and she scanned her carefully.
Someone of little words, a pure face that seemed to care not for little chatter, and, at the same time, a strong presence. Blonde hair and blue eyes. She must be the one.
“Ah, you must be the famous Clarissa.” Diane said and grinned. “I’ve heard so much about you. I finally get to meet you.”
