Chapter 399: And how long has that been?
They had guests. How could he simply think of going along when her friends were in the house? Did he plan to chase them out so he could go with her?
“You don’t need to worry about me,” Alice said, patting his cheek lightly as he sulked in defeat. “Plus, I have Leo, so they won’t be able to play with me with words.”
Though she didn’t technically need his help. She decided to stop being dumb, especially when faced with her enemies.
Mark felt even more bitter after she said that. It was as if Leo had taken his place.
“We’ll get going now,” Alice said, waving to the others. “I don’t know how long the meeting will take or if I’ll meet you all back here once I’m done, but I’ll look forward to tomorrow,” she smiled, giving them some sort of sunshine hope.
“We get it, we get it. Get going already,” Diane said, as if she couldn’t wait for Alice to finally be gone.
“I’m going. Don’t be such a b–” Alice refrained from cussing at her and just laughed. “I’ll see you.”
They watched her leave with Diane, laughing as she wondered just how she was able to get rid of that bad tongue of hers.
“I’ll walk you out,” Mark suggested, and walked out with them.
As soon as they closed the door after them, Diane turned to the students and asked,
“So, who wants to go bikini shopping?”
“What?!” Steph exclaimed, and Maki’s face went red.
“Guess not? Do you guys own ones already?” Diane asked, but they did not respond. Clarissa looked away, ashamed for some reason. “Huh? What’s this?”
She scanned their expressions. Even the guys were acting uncomfortable.
“Wait, don’t tell me you’re shy to put on a bikini?” She asked, and their faces went red. “Oh my, my, you guys are such pieces of work. So, what do you plan to wear to the beach?”
“A swimsuit,” Clarissa answered in a low tone, and Diane’s mind traveled to a full-body swimsuit that would cover them up completely.
She could visualize it on Alice, and it would still look hot, but that won’t do.
They were going to the beach. They had to make those other girls at the beach know that they weren’t lacking in any way, and to do that, they would have to expose some skin.
“That won’t do,” She shook her head. “Are old are you? 12?” She asked. “It’s the freaking beach.”
“But I always wear a swimsuit when I go to the beach.” Maki said in a soft, embarrassed whisper.
“And how long has that been?” Diane asked, causing Maki to look away awkwardly, and whispered,
“Three years.”
Diane sighed. They were ashamed? Why? They would just be showing a ‘bit’ of skin and show off their feminine charm.
Don’t they plan to get a boyfriend anytime soon? Or even if it was later in the future, how would they charm guys into falling for them with just their looks? She wondered about this and then glanced at the girls.
Okay, so maybe they could charm guys with just their looks since they all looked pretty but still…
“Throw out that towel of shame and step into the light, girls. No one is wearing a full-body bikini on my watch. We’re going shopping.”
And so, Diane took the girls out while the guys stayed behind, deciding to leave for their various houses one after the other, leaving Damian behind.
Diane didn’t care about what they wanted to wear to the beach. They could wear whatever they wanted for all she cared. She needed to use this opportunity to get Alice a bikini.
‘Hm, I remember her size well,’ Diane thought, closing her eyes as she thought back to Alice’s bare figure when she helped her change earlier. ‘Don’t worry, Alice. I’ll make sure to pick something that even Leo won’t dare to ignore.’
Leo sneezed where he was, and Alice looked at him weirdly.

“What’s wrong with you? Are you trying to get attention?” She asked, knowing there was no way he could catch a cold or catch anything for that matter.
“No, it’s nothing.” Leo said. “I just feel someone was plotting against me.”
After hearing that, Alice grin with her lips and her eyes, poking fun at him.
“Oh, someone’s got enemies,” she said, but Leo shot her the hard truth as he said,
“Probably, but fortunately I’m not you who made so many enemies to the point that assassins chase you down daily,”
Alice’s mouth fell in disbelief. He… He did not just say that.
“Is that true?” Adolf asked, and Alice flinched.
Ah, for a moment, she forgot she was in the same space as the chairman.
He was looking at her with a shocked and angry expression. It seemed like he had been provoked by the news.
“Are there assassins coming after you?” He asked, and she smiled awkwardly.
He seemed mad.
“Well, just some small fries. You don’t have to worry about it.” She said. “And besides, I already know who hired them, so the next time they send an assassin my way, I’ll pay them a visit.”
Adolf looked at how laid back she was about it and believed her when she said they were just some small fries. But it was possible that they ‘weren’t’ small fries at all, and she was just that strong in comparison to them.
‘Alice’s energy feels stronger than the last time we met.’ He thought and sighed. “Please be careful,” he said to her. “I don’t know who is sick enough to send assassins after a child, but I would very much like to know them so I can teach them a lesson.”
“Oh, in that case.” Alice put her hand into Leo’s coat to mask the way she was bringing out her phone from her ring.
If she did this, it would look like she kept her phone in Leo’s inner pocket of his coat all along.
“I have a recording of their conversation,” Alice said. “I knew I might get in trouble if I tried to pay them a visit without evidence, but I got a confession from an assassin right here and a conversation between the culprit and his employee.” She grinned. “I trust you, gramps, so please make good use of this.”
Marcus glanced at what they were doing from the steering wheel through the rearview mirror and wondered who it could be.
He had his suspicion since he had been keeping a close eye on Alice on the chairman’s request, but was it really them?
‘They’ve done it this time, sending an assassin after someone the chairman favors.’ Marcus thought, focusing his eyes on the wheel as he drove through the path in front of him.
They were currently in the transportation gate that would lead them straight to the headquarters.
(The same one Alice used when she went there with Mark and they got attacked by those guards whom she referred to as gorilla man. I’m sure you get the gist)
