Chapter 42: Hm, when did you become a butler?
Chapter 42: Hm, when did you become a butler?
Devon was short of words.
Did she just…
Pull a sneak attack on Florida?
But she was so fast.
He couldn’t see her movement, and Florida who was very proud of her reaction speed, could not even react to Alice till she was hit.
Alice had, not just strength, but great speed.
When did she become so powerful?
He could’ve sworn she wasn’t like that the first time they met.
Yes, if she was that powerful then she wouldn’t have been beaten up so badly by Justin.
“Miss Alice, have you…” Alice turned to him, wondering what he was going to ask.
“…Been hiding your strength?” Ah, yes.
It was the old-fashioned disbelief.
Even if she told him that she was nothing but a normal girl when she entered that gate and walked out, he wouldn’t believe it.
Heck, she wouldn’t believe it herself.
Everything around her was screaming power, and she was far from a normal girl.
Alice took a step towards him and then her lips curled up in a smile.
“No.” She answered, but before he could ask any more questions, she added, “But…
I wasn’t this powerful when I entered the tower dungeon.” That was all she had to say and she walked past him.
Devon was trying to process her words.
If she wasn’t that powerful when she entered then…
Could it be she got as powerful as she was now because of something in the dungeon?
“Miss Alice,” He turned, planning to ask her that very question but she had walked quite a distance in just a few seconds and was standing in front of Mark.
Looks like she was going to get herself occupied.
Then, his watch beeped and he saw that there was an urgent call from his assistant.
He decided to head out since everything was pretty much settled here.
Florida’s followers had picked her up and taken her away, trying not to get Alice’s attention and cause whatever wrath she may incur.
‘She’s so different now.’ he thought and closed his eyes, snapping his finger and disappearing into thin air.
“Hey there,” Alice said, smiling at Mark, who was sitting on the ground, same with others awakened as it felt their entire energy had been drained.

Compared to S-class awakened, they were nothing more than rocks in a pool where numbers made them noticeable and gave them far more advantages than standing alone.
Mark got up and placed a hand behind his back, bowing his head slightly.
“Sorry, you had to see me acting so weak.” He said, and Alice tilted her head.
“Hm, when did you become a butler?” She asked and suddenly patted his back violently, laughing to herself.
“Loosen up, will you?
It’s not like I’m gonna bite you or anything.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Mark said, recovering from the back pain Alice had subconsciously inflicted on him.
She must not know how much strength she possesses.
“Anyway, look at this.” She pointed down and for a moment, Mark thought she was pointing at her thighs.
Actually, she was.
She just didn’t know it.
Her thighs were a little bit thicker than they were, smooth, and looked soft too.
He didn’t know why she was pointing at it but he decided to act as a gentleman and raised his gaze, giving her a compliment, in case that was what she was looking to hear.
Decency wasn’t exactly in her dictionary.
“It’s great you found a way to get rid of the scars.
Your thighs look…
Ahem…good.” Alice once again, tilted her head, lost.
“Dummy, I’m pointing at the shoes.
Not my thighs.” She said, and he snapped.
“Who cares about that?
Just look at the shoes you gave me.” “Oh, my apologies.” He said and looked down at her shoes, his ear turning red.
Alice looked at him strangely.
“Hm, something’s up with you.” She said and folded her arms.
“You’re acting weird.” *In case you forgot, let me remind you that Mark is a full-grown man, and you have the body that’s…
Fully developed.
So, standing in front of you, as a gentleman, he might feel rather uncomfortable.* Leo explained.
*So, I believe it would be wise to not act like a kid with a body like that.* “Hm, but I am a kid.” She said, looking up at the air.
“And besides, I didn’t tell him to look at my body, idiot.
I was showing him the shoes he gave me.” Mark, hearing her one-sided conversation, wondered if she was still talking to the voice in her head.
And what…
What was that about showing her body?
He didn’t look at her body.
He hoped she did not misunderstand.
Besides, she was wearing a coat…
Which was not buttoned so her body was still on display while standing in front of her.
Of course.
He looked away and cleared his throat.
“The shoes are worn out.” He said, and Alice turned her attention back to him.
“They are.
But they served me quite well.
It’s been four months, you know.” She said and he nodded.
“You’ll need to get a new pair.
As well as…” Mark paused and looked up at her, stunned.
“Five months?” He asked and she nodded.
“Uh-huh.
Though I slept three months away and…” She paused and looked at him, wondering if something had happened in the four months she was away.
“What’s wrong?” “It seems time flowed differently in the dungeon you entered.” He said.
“And you said something like it having different dimensions, right?” “Uh, yeah.
Sorta.
The floors from 2 to 49, all looked like different places entirely.” She said.
“Wait, is that a bad thing?” “It’s just that…” He shook his head.
“…such a gate has never been discovered.
And Miss Alice, while you were in there,” he looked at her with serious eyes as he said, “…only three weeks went by out here.” He explained and her jaw dropped.
‘Pts, Leo, what’s that about?’ She asked with her mind communication while looking at Mark like she had to go pee.
*It would seem there was a time variation.* Leo said.
*I’m not certain how that came about but at the other time, no one entered the gate.* He said.
*The monsters poured out one at a time and with each wave of monsters coming out of this specific gate, more gates appeared around the world.
A gate appeared in the Pacific Ocean, allowing the Kraken to come through.
A gate appeared close to a volcano in Hawaii, allowing the lava eels to come through and many other places.
That was the real first calamity.
So, there was no discovery of time variation.* “Miss Alice, are you okay?” Mark asked, noticing the weird expression on her face and she sighed.
“Yes, I’m fine.
I’m perfectly fine.” She answered.
“Let’s stop talking about that now, shall we?
It doesn’t really matter how long I spent in there.
What’s important is that I’m out, safe and sound.
So, forget it.” “I would love to heed your request but I have to take you to the agency to explain to them what happened while you were inside the gate.
And at the same time, get your label as criminal off you.” ‘But I liked that label.’ Alice pouted her lips.
*Idiot!* ‘Hey!
It was cozy being a criminal.’ she thought.
*And that’s why I said you’re an idiot, idiot.* He added and she clicked her tongue in annoyance.
He may not get it but it was really cozy and comfortable.
“Then, let’s hurry up and leave.
You’re gonna drive me there, right?” She asked but a voice suddenly came up from a short distance.
“There will be no need for that.” Someone said, and they both turned to find a group of black-suited men approaching, and in front of them was also a guy in a black suit, but with a pair of spectacles on.
He had slick white hair, a polished expression, and a professional stance that made anyone guess that he was quite good at his job, whatever that was.
“Who’s this guy?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah Time variation.
It’s nice, right?
Like, that wasn’t a normal red gate.
It was a different world entirely and half of the world would’ve been destroyed if Alice hadn’t been put to the task by Leo FYI, he’s gonna become a real guy ‘soon’
