- Chapter 75 - Chapter 75 Their gaze definitely got to her
Chapter 75: Their gaze definitely got to her Chapter 75: Their gaze definitely got to her Now that Big Stach was dead, it was all over, wasn’t it?
The kids were free.
Alice walked up to Diane and reached out for her but she shuddered, as if scared, which made Alice pause.
Was she scared of her?
She looked at the other kids, who drew back, also scared, and then she looked down at her hands.
Did she go too far?
She disregarded that thought and took off the crushed gauntlet from Diane’s hands.
She was still shaking and though Alice felt she was shaking like that because she was scared of her, Diane’s horrid gaze was fixed on the lifeless body of Big Stach.
Alice just felt it was because of her and did not stop to think that it might’ve been what had happened to her earlier that suddenly surfaced after the commotion had died down.
She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.
They were free now, so they could do whatever they wanted.
Diane’s hands were already healing up since the elixir was still fresh in her system.
There was nothing more to do.
From a distance, she heard the sounds of cars approaching.
The people from the awakened agency were already on their way.
They would take care of all this.
Alice took out the envelope that she had kept dearly for so long.
The reason she took it with her in the first place was precisely this.
She stared at it for a while and then threw it at Diane, saying, “Get yourself a bowl of chicken soup.
You’ll feel better.” She was about to walk away when Diane caught her robe.
She looked down and saw her staring at her with pleading eyes, which could also be interpreted as frightened eyes.
Alice gritted her teeth once more.
She couldn’t understand it.
And because she couldn’t understand it, she thought it best to run away from it.
Since all the Big Stach were dead, there was no more terrifying factor.
Except…
Alice walked towards the Masked man, grabbed him by his collar, and said, “You’re coming with me.” There was no way she would leave him with the terrified kids.
She glanced at Diane one more time before looking away.
She hoped she would do fine without her.
And just as the cars got closer, she leaped high towards the roof of the tall building in front of her, taking the masked man along with her.

It was one event to another and Alice honestly hadn’t had any peaceful moment to rest.
She sat on top of the building, watching the agency as they rushed out of their cars, as well as an emergency van to treat the injured, if any.
The masked man definitely made a great report for them to act in haste.
While some examined the bodies of the clones and Big Stach himself, others tended to the terrified kids.
Alice hoped a better life would be waiting for them once they left with the agency.
She never really liked the agency because they had neglected them when they needed them the most.
If they had paid attention to them and heard their cries, instead of looking for massive gain in their actions, they would’ve never fallen into the hands of Big Stach in the first place.
The world was pretty rotten and the more rotten people walked on the surface of the earth, the more likely it was for the world to be destroyed in no time.
She watched them lead Diane towards the emergency van after wrapping her with a cloth.
Before she entered the van, she glanced up at the building Alice had jumped towards.
It was almost as if she knew Alice was watching from above.
*What’s on your mind?* Leo asked, noticing her troubled heart.
‘Nothing.’ Alice answered but he could tell she was hiding something.
‘Well, do you think they were…
Scared of me?
They were terrified.’ she hugged her knees.
‘As if they were staring at a monster.’ *…* Their gaze definitely got to her.
It was the kind of gaze they would give to the terrifying Big Stach and the rest of his henchmen.
The kind of terrified gaze they would get once faced with a real monster.
It got to her for some reason.
*You need to understand they were in shock.* Leo pointed out.
*They didn’t look at you like that because they were scared of you.
At least, Diane wasn’t* ‘Ah, but why do I feel she was especially scared of me?’ *It wasn’t you.
Remember, I told you the elixir will only cure her physically, it will not cure her mentally.
And everything she’s had to pass through tonight has taken a toll on her.
I believe the reason she held that gaze while looking at what you had done to Big Stach was because…* “Her trauma.” Alice answered out loud and covered her face.
What had happened that evening must’ve been far worse than she understood, especially to Diane who was the victim.
‘I used to think I had prepared myself for the moment when I would get tasted.
I thought Diane did too.
But just like that girl who was killed in front of me for resisting, Diane must’ve been scared.
Not everyone has a strong heart to endure even through the worst hardships.
I see that now.” She muttered and bowed her head, feeling her insides shun.
“Fuck!
I don’t even think I’m that strong anymore.
I’m not.” She felt like shit.
*Alice, you have to understand that you are still young so these feelings are normal.
If you can’t handle it, just let it out.* ‘And what exactly are you telling me to let out?’ *Tears.
You can cry it out and you’ll feel better.* “Ha!
Tears are for the weak.” She claimed it loudly, stretching her legs carefreely and disregarding the fact that she was sitting really high up.
*…* Leo didn’t know what to say to her anymore.
If she believed shedding tears meant she was weak then there was no other way to convince her.
*In any case, she wasn’t that weak.* He added, referring to Diane.
*She fought till the end.* Alice nodded.
Diane was very brave.
Even in that situation, she did not stop attempting to get away from Big Stach even when her attacks weren’t working.
It only showed how strong she was.
‘By the way, I wanted to ask.
How was Diane able to use the gauntlets?
She’s not an awakened, is she?’ *She’s not, but you can say it’s thanks to the elixir.
Though she didn’t become an awakened, she got a body boost and properties in her body similar to an awakened.* He explained and Alice nodded.
The night was quite windy and for a moment, she wanted to be alone.
But even that was impossible when this guy wouldn’t just be on his way.
With an irked forehead, she asked, “And may I know why you are still here?
Mr Mysterious Mysteria?” She turned to face him, who was standing silently behind her the whole time and he chuckled, “If I remember correctly, a certain someone dragged me along with them.” He took a step forward.
“Ah, and that certain someone was you.
So, here I am.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah he was there the whole time Can anyone guess who this guy is,?
