- Chapter 85 - Chapter 85 I'm gonna do the dishes
Chapter 85: I’m gonna do the dishes Chapter 85: I’m gonna do the dishes While Alice ate, something seemed to have cropped up in her mind and she decided to speak on it.
“Hey Mark, can I ask you something?” Alice asked, and Mark lifted his gaze from his food to look at her.
“What is it?
Is something bothering you?” He asked and she pursed her lips, wondering how to bring up the topic.
“Well, it’s about Diane and the kids.
Where were they taken?” Mark stayed silent for a few seconds but then picked up a napkin, cleaned his mouth, and said, “The agency is keeping an eye on them.” He dropped his hands on the table.
“I know you would be concerned, so I followed up on that.
Since they were once used for all sorts of evils, they have a dent in their image.
And though neither of them did it because they wanted to, they can still be considered a threat, so mixing them up with ordinary people was out of the question.” “So, where are they now?” Alice asked.
“Rest assured, they aren’t being maltreated or forced to do anything against their will.
They can be said to have a ‘broken mentality’ of the world, so some tests are being carried out and once it’s corrected, they’ll get their freedom.
Those still young will be taken to orphanage homes and the rest will be given a chance to start their own life.
But they will all still be under the agency’s supervision because anything could happen.” Alice went silent.
That didn’t sound so bad.
But could she trust that the agency would keep to their words, do what Mark had just stated, and help the kids recover?
She didn’t know but she hoped that would be the case till the end.
She didn’t want to regret leaving them to the agency.
After all, they could not be trusted.
Mark, seeing her slightly worried countenance, asked, “Do you want to go see them?” Alice lifted her gaze to look at him and then sighed.
“Nah!
I’ll just trust your words for now.” She said and resumed eating.
“I may not trust the agency but I have just this amount of trust in you to believe your words.” She showed her fist.
That was how big, or how little trust she had in him.
He stared at her fist, not able to tell if that could be considered big or small.
But either way, she had trust in him, no matter whether big or small.
That was enough.
He would make sure not to break that trust.
“Alright.” They finished their meal with no more conversation, and once Alice was done, she picked up her bowl, picked up Mark’s plate, and headed for the kitchen.
“What are you doing?” Mark asked, watching her from his seat.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” She asked, glancing back.

“I’m gonna do the dishes.” Well, that was new.
He did not expect her to want to do the dishes.
But he regretted letting her go the moment she stepped into the kitchen.
Not only did Alice break the plates in the sink, but she also broke the slab, causing major destruction in the kitchen.
She didn’t do it on purpose.
It wasn’t like she was a novice who didn’t know how to wash dishes, but her strength was becoming something she could not control.
She tried to be meticulous, only to end up using too much strength.
“I feel so bad.” She said, looking at the dishes.
“I didn’t do it on purpose, I swear.” Mark bent down to pick up the broken pieces.
He should’ve seen this coming.
“Alice, you still don’t know how to fully control your strength.” He said to her, getting up to throw the broken pieces of ceramic in the waste bin, carefully enough so he didn’t cut himself unnecessarily.
“But I feel like I had a hang on it up until now.” She said, looking at her hands.
“Well, you tend to lose control sometimes and release more strength than you need to.
It happens to the best of us.” He dusted his hands, looked at the broken slab, and then at the leaking sink.
He’d probably have to get a plumber.
“So, what am I gonna do about this?” Alice asked.
“I can’t imagine carrying a bowl of pasta and then I suddenly crush it, causing everything to fall to the ground.
That would be horrible.” Mark nodded, agreeing to her logic since he couldn’t fight it.
“Yes, and that’s why you need proper training.” He said.
“The council will summon you once more and put you up against an opponent they feel is strong enough to take you on, just to check if you were lying about your stats.” “I can handle that.” She said, placing her hands on her waist.
“That’s not the point.” He said and drew close to her, towering over her like a looming pillar, and dropped his hands on her shoulders, forgetting her initial warning.
Alice glanced at his hands on her shoulder and then looked up at his face, not saying anything.
“I know how great you are when it comes to combat.
But when you have to do a strength test and you end up releasing minimal amounts, instead of the initial, just because you can’t control it.
What would you do then?” “Well, I…” She searched around for answers with her eyes but she couldn’t come up with anything.
What would she do then?
‘Hey, Leo, is that possible?’ she asked.
*Just do as the guy says.* Leo lazily told her.
*Get trained to control that monstrous strength of yours before you end up pulling down this building while jumping in excitement.* ‘What?
That could never happen.’ *Hm, do you wanna try it?
I don’t think so.
So, listen to him.* Alice let out a sigh, pushed his hands off her shoulder smoothly, and folded her arms.
“Alright, let’s train.” She said.
Mark looked at her, wondering how she agreed so soon.
He had a feeling she had a conversation with the voice in her head during the moment she was silent but he could not confirm it.
It was a good turnaround in the long run.
“I’ll call someone to fix this up first.
You can go up and take a bath in the meantime.” He said.
She nodded and started heading up the stairs.
“And please, try not to get over-excited,” Mark warned.
“You could bring down this roof, Alice.” “Haha, I’ll try.” She said and ran up.
He shook his head and looked at his hand.
He kept doing it over and over, knowing Alice did not like it.
This habit of placing his hand on her shoulder, he had to stop it, somehow.
She could really get mad one day and snap his arm subconsciously.
He needed to be careful.
CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Author_fredah you have to be careful, if not she would really snap your hand by mistake.
She hates that a lot
