The Golem Mage - Chapter 417
Chapter 417: Ghouls.
Chapter 417: Ghouls.
With no one to stop them or distract them again , the Ghouls started to run towards the first place they could smell the fresh scent of humans.
Despite being of the same race, the Ghouls were still fighting to be the next to pass through the narrow 1-meter passageway, Agnes had the group made.
Eventually, they just pushed themselves in and headed towards Lucas and his team from the three different passageways, with the Tier 2 Ghouls leading the charge, due to there stronger nature they were able to overpower majority of the Tier 1 Ghouls.
As a large number of Ghouls approached his team, Lucas reached for his blade, but Agnes spoke before he could make a move.
€œDon€™t you dare try to attack now, We are not some fragile babies, and we can handle a couple of Tier 2 lifeforms who are trying to give us a hard time, Conserve your Mana for the seven Ghouls who are watching from afar.€
She continued,
€œTheir intelligence is frightening, so you will need to confront them when they make a move, as we would handle the rest of the horde.€ Agnes said as she casted defensive spells while giving out lectures, creating earth walls and water shields within the round fortress they had built.
Lucas felt grateful to have the Gordons clansmen on his team, despite being Tier 2 Mages, they were more reliable and talented than many other Tier 3 Mages.
He was glad he had listened to Alec€™s recommendation to add them to the team, as he watched Agnes focus on defensive measures to slow down the Ghouls while slowly killing them, Lucas admired the dedication and skill of his squad.
And while he was admiring his team the Ghouls finally closed in on them.
Bam!
The horde of Tier 2 Ghouls became increasingly restless as they caught sight of Agnes and the rest of the mages, as they were rushing towards her they collided with the water barrier she had formed.
Cracks began to spider web across the surface of the shield.
Despite the ultra sized barrier, it appeared to be on the brink of collapse, Agnes turned to Knight, who had just dispatched two Ghouls at his side by driving his dagger into their skulls.
€œMy barrier won€™t hold them for long, we need to give it everything we€™ve got,€ Agnes declared.
She had erected a smaller water barricade around Knight and Katie, managing to stave off some of the approaching Ghouls and granting them a momentary respite as they dealt with the rest that broke through from the side.
But Realizing her own barrier was failing first, Agnes understood the urgent need to go all out lest they would be overrun by the relentless Ghouls thirsting for their flesh.
€œYou don€™t have to tell me twice, It already takes considerable effort to take down even one of these creatures, Shouldn€™t there be some kind of limit on races like this?€ Knight remarked, his expression shifting from determination to fear.
€œOh, shit!€
Knight exclaimed as his eyes widened at the sight of a Tier 3 Ghoul, which is towering above the others, with razor-sharp claws, as it effortlessly shattered the water barrier in a single strike, allowing the horde of Ghouls to advance towards Knight.
However, what truly petrified Knight was not the Ghoul€™s size but its astonishing speed.
In a mere second, it outpaced all the other Ghouls, its gleaming eyes filled with malice as it positioned its hands behind its back, preparing for a deadly assault.

He brought down his great sword executing the attack once more, the Qi-infused blade effortlessly cleaved the Ghoul€™s head from its body, bringing about its demise without resistance.
€œAhhh!
, come face me now!€
Lucas Blade€™s voice rang out as he conjured a lengthy staff handle from his space ring.
Effortlessly, he sheathed his great sword within the top of the staff, causing it to gleam with a vibrant blue light.
As bolts of mystical energy danced around Lucas, radiant blue tattoos materialized on his skin, heralding the arrival of a protective azure armor.
Cloaked in a full set of spirit equipment, he exuded an aura of power and readiness, as he was now wielding a majestic glaive in his right hand that had transformed from his great sword and staff.
His released aura seemed to beckon the Tier 3 Ghouls hidden within the horde to come at him, taunting them; with one dispatched, the count now stood at six, fueling Lucas€™s urgency to eliminate them swiftly.
€œWhat the…I had no idea he possessed spirit equipment,€
Knight exclaimed as that was the first time they were seeing him go all out, but his own his tattoos finally intertwined as he was in thought, ensnaring him in a cloak of shadowy air.
His daggers now veiled in dark smoke exuded a deadlier aura than ever before.

Clad in the Umbral Cloak of the Night Wolf, the wolf shadow armor enveloped Knight, empowering him with surging strength that transcended his own physical prowess.
As he drew a deep breath, he felt himself grow stronger, not just in body but in essence.
But over his command over shadow elements and his execution of it appeared to have sharpen too, as he stood armed to the teeth with his spirit equipment set.
Embracing his spirit equipment power, Knight revelled in the mastery of his enhanced abilities.
Meanwhile, Lucas observed him with astonishment too, shocked that even Knight possessed spirit equipment.
Knowing the rarity and difficulty of obtaining such gear, Lucas recalled his clan had only given him one because he reached the Tier 4 realm faster than those in his clan.
And it was a Tier 3 set, functional yet it was clearly not tailored for his, as it must have been for someone else initially, hence his why a staff was the equipment primary weapon.
