The Golem Mage - Chapter 464
Chapter 464: The Chronomancer.
Chapter 464: The Chronomancer.
€œSo typical of the academy,€ Alec muttered as he joined his team.
€œAlways giving us outdated information and forcing us to deal with the consequences of their mistakes.€
The female mage, realizing that nobody was focused on her, swiftly got into her truck, accelerated and secured her position as the third position, desperate to escape the chaos, she vanished along with the rest of her team as she had finally passed the Race of Death.
However, the Chronomancer showed no interest in them, his attention fixated on Alec and his companions, but his look changed when he noticed the student badge peeking out from Arthur€™s waist.
€œOnce again, the War God Mage Academy sends its little mages to me,€ the Chronomancer scoffed.
€œI can€™t believe these fools, are struggling to produce a worthy successor for their younger generations and till yet they send more to die here, well, since you€™re all from the War God Mage Academy, you can forget about being trapped in a time freeze, as I€™ll be killing each and every one of you, after all, you already allowed a few of my prisoners to escape in my own death race game.€
He said as his aura intensified, no further words were needed to be exchanged among the team.
As they united, preparing to engage the Chronomancer as they all casted flashing spells with the hope that by joining forces, they might at least hold their ground against him.
[> Mid Tier spells €“ Chrono blast <]
The Chronomancer unleashed a torrent of fast-moving time mana projectiles, resembling a barrage of bullets fired from his hands, it was as if Alec himself were shooting Terra bullets, only much faster, with both hands and no cool downs.
With each hit, they found themselves caught in a relentless time loop, perpetually forced to return to where they had begun, no matter how hard they tried, they couldn€™t break free from the unyielding cycle.
The Chronomancer€™s laughter reverberated, his hands spread wide, after already immobilizing the team before they could react.
He had demonstrated the true terror of being a mid rank Mage to the team , unlike the newly upgraded Tier 4 opponents most of them had faced.
Bang!
The Chronomancer skidded along the ground, struggling to halt his slide by exerting more strength in his legs.
There was a flicker of shock in his eyes as he gazed at Alec.
He had unleashed the Chrono blast eleven times, expecting all eleven individuals to be ensnared in a time loop, however, Alec had evaded it by summoning the Sword Saint, who deflected the blasts after using anti-magic mana on his sword.
Taking advantage of the Chronomancer€™s momentary sock , Alec launched another attack, which finally disrupted the Chrono blast and allowing the rest of the team to regain their footing.
€œStep away, all of you, you won€™t even make a dent in him!€ Alec commanded, addressing his recovering team.
€œBut we can support you, it would be better than you fighting alone,€ Agnes pleaded, but Alec gently shook his head.
€œMove back, this is an order from your captain, he is far more dangerous than the mission initially portrayed, it seems he was being lenient when he attacked, I can€™t risk all of you dying, especially now that I am your leader.
Trust me, sit this one out and observe,€ Alec explained.
The team gritted their teeth in frustration, particularly Lucas, whose eyes still burned with a wild determination to fight.
However, as they witnessed the Gordon clansmen retreat with unwavering confidence, they had no choice but to place their faith in Alec.
The Chronomancer observed Alec, tilting his head slightly before speaking.
€œI don€™t understand why they have such blind faith in you, but it€™s clear that you are better than the rest, despite being just a Tier 3 Mage,€ the Chronomancer said.
€œWell, I knew they would be of no help after I attacked you, even if I had hit you, you would still be able to minimize the damage with minimal movement, only a few people can do that, those who are highly skilled in martial arts,€ Alec replied.
€œAnd I also know you are not from this world, you are a transimigrator , with your knowledge of martial arts and the time element, you could be considered close to invincible in your realm,€ Alec continued.
€œIt takes one transmigrator to know one.
Now, if you know all this, why are you so persistent in facing me alone?, Don€™t tell me you believe you can defeat me on your own,€ the Chronomancer questioned.
€œWell, I won€™t know until I try, right?€ Alec responded as he attempted to draw his bone Katana, however, before he could, the Chronomancer appeared in front of him, slamming his hands onto the katana to prevent Alec from removing it, simultaneously, the Chronomancer€™s second hand slapped Alec€™s chest, freezing him in a time pause.

The Chronomancer relentlessly launched a series of kicks and punches at Alec, before ending it with a spinning hook kick that sent Alec crashing to the ground.
As the time pause ended, Alec coughed up blood but managed to roll away, narrowly avoiding the Chronomancer€™s stomp.
The team felt the urge to rush to Alec€™s aid, but when they saw the golem Alec had summoned remaining motionless, they held back.
It was a sign that Alec still wanted them out of the fight.
€œDamn, you€™re impressive!€ Alec exclaimed, spitting to the ground.
€œBut I believe I have outgrown my limiters, and It€™s time to release myself from their grasp, so I can face you properly€ he declared.
The Chronomancer and Alec€™s team were left baffled, struggling to make sense of Alec€™s words in that moment.
However, their confusion quickly dissipated when Alec rolled up the sleeves of his academy robes, revealing enormous iron bracers securely fastened around his hands.
€œWoah, he had those on throughout?, I thought he had discarded the old ones, but it seems he simply replaced them with new ones,€ Brandon sighed, unable to contain his admiration for Alec€™s unwavering determination.
Even with the iron bracers restraining him, Alec exhibited astounding battle prowess.
As the bracers clattered to the ground, trembling under their own weight, Alec massaged his wrists, just when they thought the spectacle had concluded, their eyes widened as Alec raised his trousers, exposing iron bracers encircling his legs.
This time, two bracers adorned each leg, Alec untied them and let them plummet to the ground with a resounding thud.
After dropping the six iron bracers he had been using for training, Alec felt a newfound freedom coursing through his body.
With an energetic leap, he cracked his legs, feeling invigorated.
